It's just alpha stage stuff we've seen.
I wouldn't worry about it. If they had quivers in DAO and Da2, then they'll get to it here too.

That's the point - They didn't.

Let's hope so as it would be ashame if there were missed out
From what I heard, they're improving bows actually (we'll finally have bowstrings), so they'll get to quivers too.
edit: I'll just say it'd be bizarre if they didn't.

If this game wasn't still in alpha ii'd think sera was a Mage shooting arrows of wind only to use her bow as a guide...

Can I just point out the irony in that they had quivers in DAO and DA2, but no bow string. Now they have bow strings but no quivers.
Yeah, seems like bowstrings and quivers are mutually exclusive in most fantasy games. I've only seen a handful of games that actually have both.

I've heard this so many times.
I still hope you're right.

Yes they did. They didn't have bowstrings but they certainly had quivers.
I wouldn't worry OP. DA2 didn't have quivers as close to the release as the demo, but the full game had them. they're probably just an art asset that gets added late into the development of the game.

Well it's because we have one arrow which we tuck into our belt and when shot we have to run and collect it before we can shoot again.

I hope we do get quivers before the game launches because it'll feel like one step fowards, two steps backs if we don't

I personally don't think it matters much- and that's as a pretty regular archer. I mean I wouldn't hate it if we had them but I'm not really paying enough attention for it to ruin the game for me or anything.

There were DA:O or DA2 screenshots pre-release with no quivers, so there's precedent for that being a feature added very late.

No quivers for archers because all the resources went into the bow string this time.

Meanwhile, people still always carry their bastard swords "longswords" and short swords "daggers" on their backs. That is, magically floating in mid-air, inches away from their armor and without any kind of sheath.
The only "next-gen" things about this game is the size of the textures, the amount of polygons on models and the lighting and shading effects. The equipment design still makes no sense and probably never will...

Uhhh, no actually, Longswords are now carried on the character's hip, not back. And the reason why there are no sheaths is because there are so many different weapon designs and customization in this game that it would be impossible for them to make a proper sheath for each one of them.

Who needs to carry around big tacky looking quivers when you can pull arrows out of your ass?

Sebastian and Varric had them though didn't they?
I never played a Rogue Hawke so I had no idea that quivers didn't show up on Hawke...that is kind of weird....

I hope that's true with one-handed axes and Maces as well. I'd hate to see them "Back floating" in this one. It's bad enough that Daggers are Back-floaters again.
As for Sheathes themselves (Scabbards or whatever) I'm actually kind of torn between if they're a good thing or a bad thing. My chief complaint is that, as an accessory, they can ruin the look of your armor, especially gigantic back ones. But when they're done right, they look absolutely stellar. Part of me thinks it'd be cool if there was an accessory class (Belt slot maybe?) that was the Scabbard/sheath, which retained a basic look but morphed to fit the various weapon classes. (IE, Side-mount for Longsword, Back-mount for Greatsword) in a similar way that the armor in the game has a unique look that morphs based on what character equipped it.
I suppose I should say something about quivers too huh?
Yeah, where are they. My "Scabbard" suggestion/feedback is applicable to quivers too actually!
