Wouldn't it be funny if "Big Bad" is in fact our dear amnesiac Inquisitor?

OK. Maybe thats too far fetched but she/he couldve been "expendable" henchman working for him.

Just think about it:

-Thousands of people die but Inquisitor is somehow alive

-She/He has amnesia not knowing what happened at all

-Not only can she/he close veil tears with that hand, but she/he can also make new ones with it (From GameStar preview)

-From how it looks the breach event looks like its gonna be intro cinematic rather than playable linear level

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if near end of game we get memories back and then have the option to "lead the world to its bitter end".

I think he's just some guy who happens to be under a breach and either survives with super powers, or more likely dies and becomes another entity without knowing (think The Bureau).

A) We don't actually know he has amnesia, we just know he doesn't know how he survived the explosion.

i doubt they would pull another Revan.

in the other hand, it would make a hell of a story if the PC knew this from the start. either forced to withold that info from companions/factions/chantry/nugs or play as villain. or both? or maybe turn into apologetic chantry minion, ultimate goody two shoes. i'd die with happiness if there wasn't any Big Bad, but big battle between forces you don't control. huh... i guess i need my Planescape Torment PT again

then again i'm bored with mindblowing twists.

Didn't they confirm that we would meet or get to know the "big bad" before the end of the game. You and your power seen as a threat to them and their plans etc.

Either the maker, or a vessel for the makers power, which either the maker, or someone else wants back (or wants).

The Inquisitor is The Warden, tormented by Flemeth's spells.

As for the Qunari... he's uh... uh... a human with gigantism.

And horns.

I doubt it and certainly hope not  <_< , that would just not be good. Plus talk about a relationship killer, "hey hun you know the death and destruction and the world just about ending, well turns out I started it all. Doesnt that just make you want to laugh. No! I didnt think so!

Technically, the Inquisitor could have caused the Breach (and have forgotten about it) and not be the main villain of the game, who could be someone trying to take advantage of the Breach for their own ends. It seems unlikely.

That said, I doubt this will happen. Particularly as it seems rather unlikely for any non-mage Quizzies, which is most of them (8/11). Also it would be like Revan 2.0, and as epic as that twist was you can only do it so many times before it gets old, especially since it's basically the best known plot twist in any Bioware game ever ('you are a Bhaalspawn' barely counts, if only because the player can basically miss the twist).

I'd just be happy to be able to get to know the antagonist on a personal level before we confront them, and I hope they are relatable. Loghain only really got humanised if you spared him, and the least said about the Archdemon the better (what can you even say about it anyway?). Meredith was a thematic presence throughout, but her actual screen time was pathetic; the Arishok was a much better antagonist due to the relationship he and Hawke built up throughout Act 2. The fact you don't even get Meredith's backstory unless you side with her in Act 3 is particularly egregious. Thus, whoever the villain is, I hope we get to know him/her quite well.

It's probably Cullen.

Stop stealing my ideas dammit!

But seriously it would be a hell of a twist. Its possible that the inquisitor started the breach but I doubt he/she will be the main bad guy because apparently the bad guy comes knocking at your door later on in the game.

I'd laugh if that was literally true.

"Big Baddies" - Dragons/Dragon Cults

Power was given to PC by whose who created the Veil or assisted in creating it.

No amnesia, just some headache.

If there was only Human Race available for playing, I could see a scenario where you are a son/daughter of some power crazy magister who uses his own child as a living key to open/close the Veil. You don't remember it at first, but after 20% of the game you discover the truth and after that it ether quest for redemption or "Puppet master show".

Yeah I don't think bioware would pull another revan either, by now they know people these days would whine their heads off if they were 'forced' into having been the bad guy

"The protagonist is actually the Big Bad with amnesia."

Nah.  KoTOR already did that years ago.

No, it wouldn't be funny. It'd be damned awful. I really hope the "amnesia" is just not knowing how they survived, or the moments right before/right after the explosion. Otherwise I'll be forced to see the whole thing as an act out of Les Miserables and spend half the game humming "Who Am I" to myself.

No one had an issue with it in KoTOR.

If KoTOR hadn't done it first, I sincerely doubt that anyone "these days" would complain about such a storyline in DAI, either.

How does that happen if Laidlaw confirmed that the BBEG fights the Inquisitor before the climax of the plot?

Different breed of gamer these days my friend. These days people whine if they are forced into certain roles, these kids just don't like tight narratives anymore, I think Shep in ME gets away with it because ME inspires a different fanbase ie fps lovers more concerned with action and less storytelling.

Everything has to be about free choice and consequences otherwise it's "bad"
