Y'all, this is having a crazy-awesome impact!

 

Allan's alerted the team about being around on July 4th to receive the goodies, and apparently the office is already excited and tittering about us "taking back cupcakes" for them. Because they remember the ME3 team receiving the "negative" cupcakes about the game ending... and here we are, sending a boatload of cupcakes to them with a POSITIVE message.

 

We're retaking cupcakes for them. I can't stop smiling.

 

He's also making sure the higher-ups know this is happening largely in thanks to Lady Inquisitor being given representation and respect at E3. Part of it is also a general thanks for BioWare's work and awesome games, and we have some men contributing partially because of that, but they're aware that the initial impetus of this started as a thank you for female representation at a big, public event like E3... this is nothing but a GREAT step forward for encouraging more courage like that from BioWare (and I'm sure other developers, once word starts spreading).

 

OMG, THIS IS GROWING INTO A BIGGER DEAL OVERALL THAN I ORIGINALLY IMAGINED. THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING.

Yeah, that's really weird, wanting to know bills and stuff.

 

I found it easiest to attach my bank account, personally. Didn't take too long to verify that way, either. Even when it said it might take 3 business days, it only took 1 for me, so that was great.

 

If things really go sideways and you can't get it working, feel free to PM me. I don't mind uploading extra to cover you and then you just pay me back with a money order or check via regular mail or something.

Thanks, like I said I'm going to hook it up with my bank account instead but I won't be able to get it done until tomorrow since I have to go to my bank for some things. Hopefully that'll work out better for me. Sorry I'm really lagging behind everyone again.

I don't think you're lagging behind much at all. It'll all work out and be good. Plus, with Allan alerting me to the Canadian holiday, changing the delivery date to July 4th bought everyone extra time anyway, because now we likely won't have to give payment until July 2/3.

Is there any way that I can donate without having to join Paypal? I thought that it was possible to donate via PayPal without having a PayPal account in the recent past.  I would like to contribute.  Just let me know...

I'm not sure.  You might be able to just enter your credit card number and go, but I've had a Paypal account for years so I don't really know.

Yeah good question re note length... Is it possible to get a max word count confirmation?

 

Edit: Just read the messages thread... I suppose if we're just sending a word doc for them to print off there's not really a limit. Shall we say max one page per person? Personally I'm hoping to keep mine down to a paragraph or so. There's every chance I'll get carried away, though..... lol

I don't see why you couldn't send a picture too, but just remember that it will be in black and white when it gets printed off.  

 

Also, the first people who sent me their portions were really smart and PMed me back that their payments were sent, so I can keep track of who's who.  I would love it if everyone could do this, so I can keep updating my handy little spreadsheet.

You can send them whatever message you like. I wrote a cover letter explaining who we were and why we were sending them cupcakes and telling them how awesome they are. That letter is to cover us all as a group. But anyone wanting to contribute their own letter to go with it are welcome to. So, make yours whatever you like... if you wanna thank them specifically for Lady Inquisitor at E3, or just thank them in general for their games/hard work/etc, go for it!

Also, I wish I knew how to make animated gifs. I had a thought this morning of the BioWare logo with cupcakes falling down all around it with the phrase MAKING IT RAIN. LOL

You should be more concerned about it encouraging you to do excessive buying of things you don't really need online

I already do that.  Having Steam means I buy games a lot, some of which I still haven't played.  I feel so guilty... but I can't install everything at once, due to limited hard drive and backup hard drive space.  Alas.
