The max ability thread has some interesting views on what is or isn't cheating.

Made me wonder if this is an American anything goes mentality, or a worldwide gamer one.

Do the other boards have similar threads and range of views?

Nah .... he was just referring to those people who like to pretend that football is a game played using hands when the rest of the world use their feet and using hands is considered cheating.

No. Just wondering if we are more tolerant of it than other cultures. If there is any difference at all.

I didn't say "you people"

What's all this about this being an American board. I'm British don'tchaknow, and I find all this cheating frightfully unsporting. Pip pip!

Who are "we"? We're not all Americans here, although we use this forum...

There aren't only americans here, It's more the "international" forum of ME3 MP.

About your question, I don't know. The meaning of "cheating" is maybe influenced by the cultural environment but in the context of your particular example... I don't think so.

I realize this isn't an American board, but have been wondering if there are different feelings about what is or isn't cheating that varies depending on where you are from.

It's hard to identify nationality on this board, which is why I asked if similar discussions and views are on the other boards also

Oh, you're talking about Soccer. The game where everyone spends 90 minutes throwing themselves on the ground and clutching their shins until they finally all give up and break the nil-all draw with a penalty shootout.

You do realise America isn't the only country with english as it's primary language, right?

So wrong!  It is actually 90 + 60 mins of extra time where everyone spends 150 minutes throwing themselves on the ground and clutching their shins until they finally all give up and break the nil-all draw with a penalty shootout.

I wonder what it would be like if hockey players played soccer.

Soccer player - trips over another player, acts like he just had his leg amputated

Hockey Player - literally dies on the bench, revived, asks to go back into the game
