Your theories can have no importance to the plot as a whole, or they are essential to the plot. You can provide as much or as little evidence as you have wish to support your claims.
You are also free to dispute theories with counter evidence and vice versa. But please keep in mind that this is meant to be for fun no need for it to get heated.
Also please keep spoilers in mind if you refference the books. You can mentions the books and some plot points. But be vague about spoilers.
I'll get the ball rolling. I think Vivienne is Duncan's long lost daughter. My evidence, is that in the calling Young Duncan meets a nameless mage girl and he and she have a one night stand. And this happens in 9:10 and Inquisition begins in the 9:40s so the timeline matches up. And that's my the theory.

Can we include the theories we love to hate?
"Inquisitor is the Old God Baby" has got to be the worst, most poorly thought-out fan theory I've ever heard, and I've been following fan theories of various types for decades.

Sandal is possessed by the spirit of an old god but it hasnt taken full control of his body which explains his metal condition while also explaining his ability to conjure spells.
Bodhan knows this, which is why he's always with the main characters, he thinks they'll lead them to the information he needs to exploit the full potential of the spirit. His most recent of plans being to tear open the veil hoping it will real out the spirit.

No, Bodhan is the Maker, Sandal is Andraste, Flemeth is an Archdemon that regained her sentience. It was all there in the UALA agreement. It's like nobody ever reads those any more.

Inquisitor is only such a leader personality due to the spirit in him, which he can exorcise or maintain - accepting the dangers of either decision.

There was a loading screen once that had some lore in DAO...something about lighting four fires around the world and something big happens...maybe during the game we find out we have to do that to save the world or what not?

I love the theory that DA and JE happen on the same planet. Mostly it's just wishful thinking/headcanon, though.

I swear I saw that somewhere in the forums and it was purely based on how DA2 Sandal looked liked the short version of Cullen. Gave me a good laugh.

The Morrigan may be Alistair's half-sister. Their father is Maric
Yeah I like this one too.
I also like the various Flemeth theories - that she's Andraste, that she's a Forbidden One, that she's the child of an Old God.
I like the idea that the old Elvenhan Empire was tyrannical, oppressive and trying to kill off the humans - and that this drove the Tevinters to gain power by dealing with demons/invading the Golden City etc - just because their magic wasn't as advanced as the Elves and they had to do something to prevent genocide.
And I like the idea that there are loads of Maric's children running around Thedas. I remember Cullen being suggested as one, Anders as another (presumably because they aren't entirely dissimilar to Alistair and Cailan in appearance). I think they were both debunked, but there could be more ...

@Elvenhan
Yes, I also like the idea of the elves taking even more wide-ranging and oppressive acts against the emerging human population than anything the humans did before, thus encouraging the, well, revenge that Tevinter wrought upon the elves.* The elves being unable to stand the chaotic short lived humans messing up their world (even though humanity, while weakening the elven immortality, may have also enriched elven society if given the chance and not shut out and made bitter and desperate).
This would have to be discovered 'forgotten lore' though, but I'd welcome it, and think it would add texture to the human/mage and elven relationship. We know that humans and elves cooperated in the past, even with the Tevinters around - so it'd be nice to know, as a player, that Tevinter was *triggered* to act as brutal as they did in a revenge/justice, and it was only AFTER that, that they became consumed by power-thirst and blood magic use.
Maybe that could be in the next game, if Bioware so decides to take things to Tevinter and maybe Qunari and other lands, and shift perspective even further way from the more 'Ferelden familiar' ![]()
*The true history of things would have been scrubbed by groups like the Chantry and such, because it would favor Tevinter a little too much, in an undesirable way.
Note that I'm not saying that I'm a Tevinter supporter, but I realize that some of the most tyrannical nations and organizations even IRL came from the fight for freedom away from another lesser bad (in retrospect) order of things. When you fight for freedom, you're taking a gamble that the next phase will be better than the previous one. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. That's the nature of chaos. And in Tevinter's case, as long as you were not of the top class, Tevinter likely ended up being worse for you, and instead of being discriminated on by elves(?), you may just be a slave to mage humans
.
This doesn't mean that mages are made to be automatic enemies. Tevinter was the worst of mages, Chantry was a little better in terms of mage impact since the problem was more contained, then the DA:O/DA2/maybeDA:I 'era' had mages as a danger but also of increased use, and personally, I think that the story will allow for a better and more moderate incorporation of mages into all of Thedas society if we players decide to nudge things in that direction. Or not. I mean, same probably goes for Chantry and other notions/demographics.

Is there some version of it that is good? I mean, aside from the difficult multiple races create, I don't see how is terrible about it.

Cullen is another of Maric's love children.
I thought Anders was supposed to be part of that too. A Maric Love Child Trinity, if you will. (Alistair, Cullen, Anders).
Or maybe I've read too much DA fan fiction... ![]()

There's also the fact that the kid would be ten years old, may not exist because not every warden does the dark ritual (and bioware has repeatedly said they're not forcing it to be canon) and the OGB was confirmed to be a boy by morrigan in witch hunt so there's also the 'inquisitor can be a woman' thing.
