Alright.
"There are tonns of different variations that impact the ending."
Alright.
yet DA2 seems to have the majority of systems in DAI and Origins only gets a small amount just to keep the Origins fans quiet.
And what systems would that be, exactly? Dialogue wheel? I'll grant you that. Let's look at the small amount of DAO you've mentioned. Overhead camera—now even better than before. Full customization for companions—and without compromising their character, I hated to dress Morrigan in circle robes, and I'm sure she was fuming, too. Party camp—and not just some abstract location, too; you find yourself a nice spot and set up camp, if you want. (Not to mention central base of operations, Skyhold, but there wasn't anything like that in Origins.) Playable races, crafting based on collectibles; traps, spell combinations... Not so small amount when you think about it, eh?
The only thing I can think of that could be missing in the game is non combat skills, I don't remember if they were confirmed either way. Then again, the info on the enemies (in tactical mode) becomes more detailed "as you learn more about them", which can refer to some of non combat stuff.
I'd like to stress that with all the returning features DAI isn't gonna be like DAO (or DA2, for that matter) anyway. They invented a lot more than reinvented. And I've even seen reservations about all this "open world and mounts" thing, that could compromise the franchise somehow, because "it's not what Dragon Age is about, do your own thing, stop copying Skyrim". But I would also say that despite their differences DAO and DA2 are similar when you get right down to it. A lot of small things were missing or changed, but the core remained the same.
So I expect DAI will be Dragon Age at its core, too, except this time around features are not missing, not even reintroduced, but rather expanded and added.
Can't wait to see this new character Morgana, Bioware have kept it very hush hush. ![]()
