I apologize if this songs have been added, but I'll go ahead and add them anyway. They are from Pandora Hearts. The anime is pretty sh*t, and even sh**ier when compared to the manga
, but the soundtrack was great ![]()
Maybe I'm weird, but I feel that Yuki Kajirua has never quite managed to recapture the brilliance she achieved on the three "Girls with Guns" soundtracks (this, Madlax and Noir). Don't get me wrong, her other stuff is great, and she's still probably my second favourite anime composer (after Yoko Kanno of course...), but those three just had a level of creativity and variety I quite don't find anymore, particularly in her more recent music which has gotten a bit samey...
Considering Noir is what made me the Yuki fangirl I am today, I can't exactly disagree with your point Phroxen. I mean, I adore her stuff regardless and always will, but I can see where you're coming from in that it is really easy to pinpoint when she's composed things. Artist hallmarks aren't a bad thing by any means in my book, but as a surprise it might be to folks, Noir's soundtrack is still the thing I've listened to the most from her.
Since I'm sure everyone would expect the follow up to be Salva Nos, and while I love it to absolute pieces, I'll grab something else:
Sure the lyrics are a little Engrishy, but I adore it. Just ignore the sobbing in the distance for when it plays in the series. 1:50 naturally marks the closest thing to a religious experience I'm capable of having.
Love this series to bits. I need to rewatch Madlax at some point.
Actually now that I think about it, there's a track in Rebellion that made me chuckle quite a bit since it reminded me of Fake Garden from Noir (that song is Raise the Curtain).
I miss Soul Eater.
Might watch it again soon.
.Hack was the first of Kajiura's I heard and definitely one of her best, but it was Noir that really blew my mind ![]()
On a different, but not unrelated note:

More based Kajiura stuff in the show with based OST

I hate like limits.
Anyway I feel a bit HxH-ish today so...
I hope you're far enough to realise just who #bestgirl really is.
Decretum there basically sums up what I was saying earlier about Yuki's work. It's a very nice piece of music, no question about it but at the same time, its pretty much the same as a several other thing she's written. Without the video, I couldn't have told you which of her soundtracks it came from. It's lacking the creativity and variety of her earlier works - instead, Kajiura has basically found a formula (albeit a good one) and keeps repeating it.
But anyway, lets have some more of her stuff, this time from a soundtrack so good it somehow made watching this show worthwhile:
Yeah, can only disagree with you there but whatevs
Came across this randomly... kinda nice
