Are they real models or did BiowarEA make them from scratch? Did you like the Final Fantasy type look some of the characters had in DA2? If so, do you think BiowarEA should create characters like that for DA:I?

I don't know, some of them don't look like they could have possibly been modeled after a real person, but others maybe. And I'm not sure what you mean by Final Fantasy look in DA2...

Fenris definitely has that kind of feel to him if you ask me.

Not sure I completely understand your question. If you are asking whether the in game characters are based on real life people, the answer is yes and no. Morrigan's face model is Victoria Johnson, and Leliana is Alexandra Stein:

I don't think all of the characters have a real life actor as their inspiration, however. Also, I know that Bioware iterates on the models quite a bit, so what you are seeing now is not necessarily representative of the final product.

Your second question is a bit pointless. Even if I wanted the characters to resemble the models in DA 2 (which I don't - I am quite satisfied with what Bioware is producing for Inquisition), it's a bit late for them to go back to the drawing boards now.

By Final Fantasy look...I mainly meant default female Hawke and Fenris. Hawke looked like a gift from Square Enix when BiowarEA and Square started becoming the best of friends (FF13-2 had N7 armors and Square Enix made Mass Effect figurines)... a leftover FF13 character she was. Fenris seemed as if he was designed by the same dude as Kefka. I'm not the only one who saw Final Fantasy in DA2 characters.

You understood right. I knew about Morrigan and Leliana... I was just curious about newcommers.

Pointless? Even though the game is headed for release that won't stop them from making dlc, I probably just gave them an idea. Don't get your hopes up about the game not having dlc, you'll end up being tricked like how FromSoftware tricked fans with Dark Souls 1 & 2 saying neither game would have dlc.

Those were the models for the CG trailer.

tbf, Fenris' entire existence was a JRPG.

Personally, I rather liked DA2's 'Final Fantasy' designs. But then I am, at heart, a JRPG fan and prefer increased stylisation over attempts at realism.

By final fantasy did you mean the one guy with a vaguely "emo" haircut?

Sera looks like she could be in FF. this is not automatically a bad thing. I like the way she looks and it doesn't take me out of the DA setting at all

I honestly really dislike the Final Fantasy-esque style. The biggest complaint I had about DA2 was how ridiculous most of the armour and weapons looked. I don't have a problem with the JRPG style in light-hearted games, however, in DA2 it just struck me as a little out of place. Don't even get me started on those ridiculous crumb-catchers stuck to the front of 2/3 of the chestplates. I suppose the fact that I'm an anthropology/history major doesn't help, because all I can think of when I see those is how easy it would be to grab onto them and decapitate the people wearing them. It's the same reason Vikings would have never worn horned helms. They are impractical for battle. At least I can take solace in the fact that we are finally getting bowstrings, even though the bows will still be magnetically attached to the archers' backs. :?
