This is a DAI thread, so I figured the OP was talking about having one in Skyhold or some keep.

Yes, but I thought we were still on the topic of the practicality of it and referencing the original and this is going to go in circles so i'll just stop now i guess

It's GoT. There's nothing practical in that series. I mean, just look at the throne.

How is this thing practical? You know how much they could get with all that iron?

You could imagine being killed next to that thing thinking "If only I had a sword"...

It's more practical that that tusk thing at least.

And that is actually the small version used on the show. The illustaration that GRRM posted somwehre was much, much higher.

I guess a really traditional 'moon door' won't break the bank, and greatly enhances sanitary conditions in Thedas as well...

It isn't supposed to be practical, it is the throne of a conqueror built from the swords of conquered foes, it is supposed to be a display of might and a warning to anyone who would think of standing against the King.

Besides are we really worried about practicality when the game series related to this forum feature such absurd weaponry as this?

Aegon the Conqueror may have been great at conquering, but man, he wasn't exactly the world's foremost expert in ergonomic design :( .

A king would get a major case of dingle berries sitting on that thing.

Oh! Game of Thrones. I've never bothered getting into it. Which is not a judgment on the franchise. I'm a father of four, so I have to pick and choose what to invest my free time in.

I'm a fan of the books and show and even i am starting to think the hype is getting a bit out of control  ;)., but it's all in good fun.

I want it too and make the bad men and potentially unwanted repo-men fly.

Personally I think the hype is justified, people are excited about because it is genuinely a damn good series, it just has a way of digging it's hooks in and making you want MORE!

I stumbled in here expecting an Ultima Moon Gate joke.

I am disappointed.

Would be more fun to throw people through that one and stuff.

Meh.  That's what windows are for.  That and earning the ultra-cool Varric nickname "Defenestrator".

All he had to do was step back, just step back but he just had to hear it.

The books were meh, and the TV series not even that. So no, it is not 'genuinely' a good series since opinions are mixed.

Just because you can't appreciate the series does not mean it isn't a genuinely well written series, I don't know what it is but for some reason there are a lot of Dragon Age fans that can't handle the idea of other Dark Medieval Fantasy series showing their beloved series how it is done, the amount of hate the Witcher and Game of Thrones receives here is staggering.

I don't care one bit about whether the Witcher or GoT 'shows Dragon Age up' unless someone comes in here and is mean about it. All I was saying is that things that can have different opinions about its quality means the word genuinely cannot apply since by definition genuinely is an absolute. For example, the Red Wedding is genuinely a slaughter because there is no disputing that. That's all. ^_^

Personally I am not so sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion but for some reason it would seem you are actively looking for reasons to hate the series, I mean you seem awfully quick to point out minor impracticalities of the series despite not knowing the reasons behind them while at the same time giving the Dragon Age series a free pass despite being a far worse offender. You may not like the series but the mere fact that it has had such an emotional impact on you to the point that you are looking for the pettiest of reasons to justify your hatred for it only speaks as a testament to how well the series is written, I mean a lot of people really hated Joffrey too but that was because of how well he was written and acted that he invoked such strong feelings in the viewers and readers.

No reason for me to 'actively look for reasons to hate it'. I've read the books, did not like them and didn't think they were well done. Watched the show. Same feelings as when I read the books. End of story.

You are either reading far more into this than there is or looking for an argument so you can say how great(in your opinion) it is. Either way, you should stop now.
