No reason for me to 'actively look for reasons to hate it'. I've read the books, did not like them and didn't think they were well done. Watched the show. Same feelings as when I read the books. End of story.

You are either reading far more into this than there is or looking for an argument so you can say how great(in your opinion) it is. Either way, you should stop now.

Very well you are entitled to your opinion, however when your only critique of the series is something that your favored series is a far worse offender in it does make your observations look more than a little disingenuous.

Doesn't sound structurally wise. I mean any tectonic or seismic activity and the entire part of the building can collapse.

The castle in the books made a lot more sense, and the Moon Door was vertical, since no part of the castle jutted over the edge:

This is yet another example (in my opinion) where the show tried to make something more awesome, but made it less awesome in the process.  In the books, the Eyrie is a small little castle built on the shoulder of an enormous mountain, requiring a miniature mountaineering expedition just to reach it.  All of its impressiveness and impregnability comes from its location.  In the book it's a typical big fantasy castle on a tiny arch of rock.

Back on topic:  Executions by kicking someone over a precipice would be entertaining, if not for the constant refrain of "This. Is. Sparta!" that would constantly run through my mind.....

The books are good, the show is making me want the directors to fly.
