Hello Everyone.

I'm trying to convert some parts of a NPC Human model to Human Male Armor but I'm having problems, as this is not my field of expertise.

I would ask for someone to do it for myself if is not very difficult or for help to do it myself.

I really love a lot of the models from Project Q, here are the ones I love the most:

Human: Ranger, Male (model name: c_RNGmal01) is using the iron armor from Skyrim I think and I would love to have this as different parts for armors. As the model is directly human male normal pheno I think the best way to do it would be to keep it just as human male for normal pheno and try to use some batch converter for the rest if possible, but as I will be running a human only PW that shouldn't be a problem for me at all.

Luskan Guard (model name: c_yluskguard) I love the hauberk a lot, as there is no full mail haurberks available and this would fit really well my needs.

Bandit (model name c_bandit01 and c_bandit02) armor and robes looks really nice.

Those models I said before are really great and I don't know why were never included as armor, specially the ranger one, as the model from Skyrim looks really nice.

Would love to know how to convert some of those parts to armor parts and then I think there was a tool to convert those models to the different races/phenos but not so sure about this, although only human male would be fine.

Thanks!

I have started to look into it, but I make no promises concerning success or time it might take.

Edit: Some parts of these models are "worth" converting - that is, some of them have a unique look not well replicated by other armour parts and would be relatively easy to convert.  Others I wouldn't go near with a ten-foot pole because they're too fiddly, while some other bits again are already covered by the appearances of existing parts.  I'll get back to you later, if/when I get anything done.

If Este can't pull it of I'll see what I can do. I have either made or ripped apart every model he's after.

BTW, that Ranger's armor predates Skyrim.

PSM, feel free to have at it!  You know these models far better than I do (though of course that wouldn't be hard, since I don't know them at all).

First attempt at a robe from the ranger chest can be seen below.  Texture obviously needs more detail and contrast.  (Quite aside from that, the version of the texture in Q seems to be suffering from some horrendous compression artifacts.  Not sure where to find an alternate source, though.)  Obvious need for matching bracers and boots, but I will convert them as separate parts.

And they scoffed at me when I said Skyrim armors could be converted into NWN...

Jesus man just jesus. Amazing work.

Just saw again at the PC (previously saw it through mobile) and it looks really great man. I wish they had added some skyrim armor to NWN.

No need for beer.   :)  By the way, I am a woman.  I always assume it's obvious that I'm female because my Quenya username has a female suffix, but I guess not!  :D

I have a lot of real-life stuff to do over the course of the next few days, so no promises as to when this will be in playable condition.  As long as you can accept waiting, we're good.   :)

this is like when everyone laughed at me when they didnt make elder scrolls content because "it would violate its copyright". when we, as a community, had over hundreds of elder scrolls content (even a morrowind pw) for several years without a single word from anyone

ill be following this thread, its very intresting :)

I don't play monsters. I play men besieged by fate and out for revenge!

Just checking, let's say I buy this model: http://www.creativec...-armor-3d-model

Would it be possible to be added for NWN?

I'm not familiar with vray. If it's of any format that can be imported or used in Blender, Max, Gmax or Milkshape then I could at least get it into a base mdl format that others could go on from there.

This one also says hi-poly also so it would depend on the polycount. At 100 megs this is probably way too detailed.

Edit - noticed at the bottom that it does come with multiple formats and some of those are useable. Multiple formats in one zip would also bring file size down. I still hold with the polycount probably being too high and with looking for free sources 1st.

Before you go all out I would look for free sources on the web that are close to this in style. Also, look at some of the older rpg's that are out there like Spellforce 2, Drakensang - the Darkeye or maybe the Sims Medieval. HoMM5,Civ 5, one of the later Settlers games, or other 3D RTS games might have good units as well.

I've managed to create the robe as you posted (but with a more wrose palette) and I have the same problem as you show in the screenshot. The "tabard" shows black/mirror instead of transparent.

Would love to add some stuff from The Sims Medieval but I think they come with a lot of polys.

Haha I know it doesn't perfectly but man they look awesome!! (skyrim models).

By the way, is there something like NWNArmory to convert robes to its mounted versions?

I don't think so, no. You have to rename the models manually, both the file and the reference to it in the model itself, to whatever phenotype it is meant to address.
