Tough call. I'll have to wait and see to be sure, but I heard there would be various ways to bring them to your side, such as diplomacy or force. It might be interesting to go for 'kill them all' option. Stupid, but interesting.

Destroy: anyone who think they can get away with murdering innocent people

Align: anyone who want to protect innocent people

Of course, what I believes are innocent people might not be the same thing as the different factions in the game. It will probably end up: destroy all the extremis and selfish rulers.

At least one play through, if possible I will mess up everything. Just to see what happens!

But as a serious play through, no clue.

I haven't decided yet, but I've been toying with a similar idea.  Justice right here, right now, consequences be damned.

Does the demon horde pouring out of the fade count as a faction? If so I'll be eradicating that one. Will try to build consensus among everyone else if possible.

So far the only organization that I know of, that will show up in DAI anyway, that I want to dispose of is the Chevaliers.

And the evil groups obviously, like Venatori and Red Templars.

Based on the books and what I know from the games I am going to side with

  • City elves
  • The Empress
  • Between Templars and mages, I kinda don't want to side with either so we shall see.
  • The Wardens, idk yet. (judging from the trailer we "might" have to put them down anyway so who knows)

In all sincerity, I am longing for Options to side with Followers of the Qun Philosophy. I liked even Tallis, simply because she shows the good Sides of the Qun Philosophy and now, as we can play as a Qunari, I find the Possibility to strike a devastating Blow to the Chantry intriguing, as this is a Way to pave the Path for the Qunari. So probably:

Everything that my newly coverted Inquisitor thinks stands against the Teachings of the Qun will be met with Animosity.

Not decided yet. need to know whats going on..

Given a chance though, I dont like having numerous factions / cliques, hard to manage so I'll probably destory all and keep the red faction.

Lol, what have the Dalish done to you? Have they not suffered enough, they've been getting the short end of the stick right before the dragon age.

I am all for diversity in my Inquisition. I don't want to pick only the Templars or only the Mages, I want both in my forces. I don't just want humans in my army, I want dwarves, elves, and qunari as well.

Mostly though, I do hope that there is the possibility of recruiting the fantasy side of the DA world to help in the crisis (and preferably it wouldn't be the eviloz choice). I would love to have my Inquisition supplemented by Sylvans, or Golems. To have alliances with Giants, or Werewolf packs. To enlist the aid of Awakened Darkspawn, or Dragons to protect my holdings.

Like I said, I hope that the option to recruit such creatures is available in the game, and I really, really hope that the choice to side with said creatures goes against the common mold of not human/elf/dwarf/qunari = bad. It would be interesting if BioWare would turn the tables on such tropes, so instead of killing the evil giants threatening the poor village, you can help the family of giants against a power hungry cult. I mean if the Fade tear is a threat to all of Thedas, then I would expect all of Thedas to want to do something about it.

My stance on the fantasy creatures vs human/elf/dwarf/quinari is summed up perfectly in the words of the great Ripley: "You know I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them ****ing each other over for a ***damn percentage."

A lot of people, especially heads of organisations hate consensus, it diminishes their own power and importance.

It depends on my character. Revas is going to prioritize helping out the elves, including elven mages, and by extension, mages as a whole. Hayden is passively pro-mage, but he's pretty opportunistic and greedy, so he'll try to maximize profits as much as he can get away with. Issala is conflicted, and will likely just deal with each individual situation as they come. Samahl is pro-mage.

As for the other factions... I'm not sure yet. I'd have to learn more about them.

With my Dalish Inquisitor will do my best to give to the Dalish Elves their independence. This is my objective everyone who stands in between will become an enemy.

The rest is secondary

Oh, I have learned to never underestimate my irrational gaming hatred for the Dalish.

Heck, the only reason I did not sic the wolves on them in my headcanon M!Cousland run in DAO was because my Chaotic Good PC was too noble to allow them to suffer the curse any longer.

But why the hatred? Mostly because they are xenophobic, racist d-bags who enforce cultural hatred on their young simply because they refuse to leave the past behind and face reality. Wah wah, culture and past glories, wah wah. Oh bloody hell, shut up already.

Oh and they treat/think of their city cousins like/as trash simply because they refuse to live like homeless bandits while clinging to a dead culture/religion/way of life under the guise of "nobility" whilst promoting racial hatred. Yeah, real outstanding bunch of people.

City Elves? Will do everything in power to improve lives.

The Dalish? Burn, motherfuckers, burn.

If I can I will destroy the templars and possibly the chantry. I haven't really been in the divines camp since I read asunder.... Leliana may convince me to let it stay...

"Racist"? The Dalish don't have the power to enact racism. Please tell me you haven't forgotten about the time when they were enslaved, their culture destroyed, and then forced to assimilate into human society? Elves are raped, murdered, and abused on a daily basis - can you blame them for being so wary of humans? I do agree that they should be more welcoming of city elves, but that attitude seems to vary from clan to clan. The Sabrae clan accepted Pol and Feynriel quite easily.
