Besides, Adrian Cho said a while ago that there might be 2 but wasn't sure.

This is outrageous!

I don't know if we've been lied or if the person who told us that was misinformed at the time.
Either way I never quite believed in the 1 swap only story...Not with the amount of side content this game appears to have - that would almost require to have huge amounts of the same data in both discs.

the "person" who told us was chris priestly I presume. a bioware employee you know. if he misinformed us, that's a professional fault.
why insisting, at that time, about the fact that it takes only one disc swap only to learn from reviewers that it was a lie and you have to disc swap two times ?

Who freaking cares?! All you're doing is changing a disc! a disc!

I bet you're one of those people who loses their remote, then spends 10 minutes looking for it instead of getting up and walking over to the tv.

What kind of analogy is this?

You're going to have to find the remote eventually, why not now?

Sure, he gave a false/wrong information but I don't think he lied on purpose so Bioware can fool us into buying the game...at least that's what you appear to be implying.

Games are getting to big for normal dvd's and the Xbox doent have a Blue ray player or a big enough hard drive to put all the games you want on it.

On the PC on the other hand, I don't even need to have a disc in the player to play the game. Bet Microsoft will put that on the Xbox720 (or whatever its called) and call it next gen Lawl

BioWare is demonstrating their axiomatic laziness once again - now I have to get up to swap the disc every few hours? This wouldn't be a problem if BioWare had released Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 but they couldn't be arsed to do that, of course. This is reminscient of the old PS1/Dreamcast days.

Lie, mistake... Hardly different.

It's not like it's a secret that they gave us false information. Jesse Houston explained the disc swap. xbox360.ign.com/articles/106/1063107p1.html

They could have just said "You know what, f*** Mass Effect 2. Lets just make it Mass Effect one in a bigger box. Freaking perverts won't notice as long as theres lots on nudity."

Oh my God shut up.

It's first disk for the first areas until Normandy I thinks, and also the point of no return(/long and cinematic suicide mission) in the late-game.

Second disk for all the dossier missions and assignments, N7 missions, etc etc, and likely post-game. It's the Final Fantasy VII Disk 3 of Mass Effect 2.

No big deal. I'm a little annoyed since I HAVE to install my disks before use since my disk drive is 1/2 broken... but once I get the Normandy I'll quickly forget this :D

It's all the Xbox's fault for not having a blu-ray or high density disc drive. I'm not a PS3 fanboy though, I'm neutral

ME is the only reason I bother with the 360. If it were available on the PS3 as well then I'd seriously consider switching consoles.

I guess I won't mind too much if the swaps are carefully managed like BioWare has said, but if I get a horrid "PLEASE INSERT DISC ONE" message on the screen a few hours into disc two it will definitely break the immersion factor for me. I loathed disc swaps in the old Final Fantasy games on PS1, but at least you got the impression you were progressing through the story. Swapping from disc 1 to disc 2 and then back to disc 1 will feel weird, and I don't care what technical explanations there are for it.

I expect to play the game multiple times which easily equates to dozens of disc swaps. Spare the lazy jibes please, this is all about suspension of disbelief. One good thing is that I'll be able to anticipate them after the first play through, but that's the only good thing about it unless (like BioWare have said) it occurs at carefully scripted parts of the game.

Stupid XBOX with its outdated drive technology. No doubt BioWare have done the best they can.

I just can't bring myself to do it - not until I clear further debt and can warrant the price of a decent rig. Besides, I like being able to lie on my bed and not worry about keyboard and mouse antics :P (that is me being lazy).

altough i have a xbox i am mainly a pc gamer and getting me2 on pc. I played games that reqiured swapping discs before but... can someone enlight me? what is so damn hard about swapping the disc? I mean i can't see why this is even being brought up. It can only take 1 minutes at most, say you'll have to do it twice in entire game that makes it 2 minutes. What's so friggin hard about this? Is there a new technology that i am not aware that allows you to put your xbox in another planet while you can still have your controller and tv at home so you have go through a intergalactic flight to swap discs? NO. The console is just 2-3 meters away from you at best, get your lazy ass up take 3 steps to get to console and swap the damn disc. You know what, you wont even have to do this 2 swaps in on single gaming session, because if you play until the point that you need to make the 2nd swap you'll have to pray to whichever god you believe so that your console doesnt fry and give you RROD. This game takes more than 30 hours. go and swap the damn disc. And tell me why that is such a big problem?
