Um... why is this an issue? One swap or twenty does it really matter? And if someone along the line got the wrong information, why do we even care? Some of the best games I've ever played have required mulitple disk swaps, and I didn't care.

hey fanboys, I was speaking about lies, not game breaking, little bioware kiddies.

Its a conspiracy. Is that what you wanted to hear. Dude, get out of your mother's basement and soak up that sun. Lifes too short.

Some Mass Effect 'fans' are so anal retentive that Mass Effect 2 should come with a warning.

I have a real comment about this issue: will we not be allowed to download the game to the HDD, then play with just the one disk? I assume not, otherwise the issue would have been specified

25 years ago I use to swap discs all the time.

Kings Quest IV had like 5 discs, it was a pain in the neck.

But a good game is worth it.

I wouldn't say we've been lied to.

Priestly never informs us of anything that is incorrect intentionally. If he says "there is only one disc swap" and it turns out that there are two disc swaps, then Priestly was misinformed.

That doesn't mean he lied to us...it just means that he was given inaccurate information, and told to pass it on to us, only to have that information become inaccurate for one reason or another.

Either way...Totally not a big deal, and not worth complaining about.

Stop throwing around random accusations of "lying" like a child. It isn't lying if he didn't know it was inaccurate. Saying that he lied implies that he deliberately misled is, and I guarantee you that this is not the case.

tl;dr: stop ****ing.

Wow, almost everybody in this thread didn't even bother to read the OP's post.

"hey fanboys, I was speaking about lies, not game breaking"

He means why lie, he's not complaining about the disc swapping. *facepalm*

"Well, I think it'll probably take about 5 minutes..."
"Okay, cool."
*a little over 5 minutes later*
"YOU TOLD ME THIS WOULD ONLY TAKE FIVE MINUTES! IT'S ALREADY BEEN SIX MINUTES! YOU ARE A FILTHY LIAR!!! DIIIIEE!!!!!"

By which I mean, do you, or the OP, really believe that this was a malicious lie rather than a statement of something which may have been true at the time, but which as since changed for various reasons, likely leading to a more streamlined game overall?
Even if it is an evil lie... do you know what the difference between one and two is? Sure, it's TWICE as many disc changes, but it's only ONE more disc change... this is not the actions of an evil organisation hell bent on ruining your lives...

at the time where bioware announced there will be 2 dvds, they announced that they will be only one swap. they sait it CLEAR. it was a major gripe over the community at this time, believe me or not ( old forums, you can see by yourself), because there are games with more than 1 dvd on the 360 and they don't require swaps, if you previously installed the dvds on the hard drive. and it's only now that the game is about to be on the market that they can't hide the horrible truth : there is 2 swaps. it has a name : LIES !! too much fanboism leads to too much antagonism as of course I exagerate, but try to see things as they are : some gamers were concerned, and those gamers were misleaded.

You kids and your whining about disc swaps. In my day and age, we had 4 discs that needed swapping for all the recent Final Fantasy games and we had to blow on our plastic cartridges to get them to work, that is if the screen didn't flicker blue.

I suddenly feel like an old grandpa.

Sauce?
Everything I've read said it was going to require the swaps on the 360 (rightfully so, it's an inferior console)
However on the PC version it's been said since as early as I can remember that you do NOT have to swap disks after install.
Epic fail, learn 2 read.

Makes sense. I was wondering how they were going to have you swap discs somewhere in the middle of the game when the middle of the game is wide open and you can (I assume) recruit your squadmates in any order you choose.
