Out of curiosity (and I wasn't sure where else to ask this since there aren't many threads open right now), what are the rest of you planning to put for how you want to be credited for helping out with the Keep beta? Your real names? Or handles? Or something else?

What is this about? I've never heard anything about being credited directly for helping with The Keep.

so, i'm not sure where else to post this, but does anyone else get an error message when they try to follow these instructions to activate online profiles for dragon age 2: http://forum.bioware...o-hero-syncing/

every single time that i try to activate my dragon age 2 online profile i get an error message in red that says: "Could not sync your Dragon Age 2 account at this time. Please try again later." well, i have been trying again later. many times over the last month. i still get the same error message. i searched online but only found a few people reporting this same problem and none of those posts had a troubleshooting solution.

i was able to sync origins online profile, but it's not perfect. one of my DAO character portraits appears and my achievements do show up on social.bioware (but none carry over to the keep in the keep).

is this an xbox360 thing? or am i just too late in the game to sync profiles online for the first time. back when i started playing dragon age origins, my xbox360 profile was on my console only without an online connection. the other account on my console had the xbox live connection. i never needed one until i started playing borderlands 2 and wanted to download shift codes, so i never really paid attention to online stuff before then.

the only reason i really care is if my custom hawkes get to show up in DAI like it's been hinted. i DO NOT want to see default marian (or default carver/bethany/gamlen if they end up having a cameo appearance too.) i spend a lot of time in the character creator and if proper syncing of profiles is the only way to make sure a customized hawke (and family?) shows up in DAI, i'll be pretty unhappy that my profiles won't activate and sync.

any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. (unless the suggestion is "tough luck, deal with it," because i've seen a reply to that effect on these comment threads and i think it's super impolite. so please don't go there. this actually does mean a lot to me. thanks.)

I put my first name, my BSN handle, then last name. Which I don't mind sharing since it'll be public on the credits page anyway, but I rolled like this:

Tiffany "DragonRacer" Lowe

It got put up in the announcements section here: http://forum.bioware...p-credits-page/

I "subscribed" to the News & Announcements subforum here, so I get a little notification whenever one of the devs makes a new thread like that. Only way I noticed it got put up. LOL

I think it'd be kind of fun to have 'Keeper" as our forum title too :D

I've submitted this as a feedback, I'll also say it here since there isn't many topics open. After replaying

DA2 I noticed that it isn't possible to hand the conspirators over the orsino in the ACT 3 quest

Best served Cold. Meredith always deals with them since cullen always shows up at the end of the quest

to take them in.

Yeah, I think the wording is a bit off there.  You can get the quest from Orsino, but he really doesn't have much say on what happens in the end.

True, but you report back to him, as opposed to reporting back to Meredith.

Perhaps the wording should change to reflect who you're getting the quest from.

Yeah the wording is all around wrong.  You don't turn the conspirators  in to anyone.  Cullen "swoops" in and does the prisoner duty thing.  (slight Alistair reference/pun intended)  I always got the jest of it though, but it wouldn't hurt to make it more accurate.   :D

I put my real name, Porter McHenry. Didn't feel like adding my forum or Twitter handle.

While I can't really help you with the DA:2 syncing issue (my 360 Hawkes show up just fine, so you may have run into some obscure bug, I don't know, but make sure to report it using the Beta Feedback button in the Keep if you haven't already) I can say that I believe the main point of the choice of whether Hawke matches Varric's description is to help DA:I determine whether it uses default Hawke, or lets you customize.

Obviously, I've haven't played Inquisition yet, so I can't verify that last bit, but it has been verified on Twitter that returning heroes will get their own Character Creator, so no need to worry about getting shoe-horned into using the default if you don't want to.

Edit: I failed to notice earlier you said you had an offline and online account? If they're separate, you may not be able to upload the ones for the offline account, as I believe it needs to be able to be tied to your EA/Origins/whatever account.

Well, eff. :P Went with whole name only. That should be good.

Thanks! The character creator bit would resolve all my worries regardless of whether syncing ever works for me. And yes, I have reported it using Beta Feedback, just wasn't sure if it was something widely occurring among others and even worth their time to investigate.

And, no, I no longer have an offline account. There were never two, just the same account at different times. My account started as an offline one and then I "upgraded" it to an online account for Borderlands 2. It's the same player profile with all the same achievements, but I had to change my Xbox profile name at that time because my offline name was taken already on Xbox Live. I no longer have the old profile name; it just got changed into the new one. I wonder sometimes if that's part of the problem. I had already played Origins and Dragon Age 2 offline before I transitioned the account into an online one and selected the new name.

I don't know if having to change the name should affect whether or not it will sync, but just in case, have you tried starting a new character in 2 since you upgraded it to online? If not I'd say try that quick and then give it time to show up on BSN before trying to sync again. Origins I know has syncing problems, and they are aware of and working on them, so no need to mess with that yet, but as far as I know, DA:2 is fine with syncing. You've probably already done this, but make sure that you're signed into your EA/Origins account when you boot up the game. It should show up in the bottom left of the main menu with your gamertag and that it's linked to an EA account.

Other than that I don't really know what to say, although hopefully this helps.

Edit: And now, since I believe it was mentioned there would be more threads opened up today for questions and such, here's my feeble attempt to get us back on track. I'm currently working on an aggressive mage Hawke who sides with the Templars to reflect my current DA:2 run, haven't decided if I want to pair him with a pro-mage or pro-templar Warden yet though.

Thanks to EA Support being able to get my BSN registered DA2 on to my Origin account I was able to start a new play through Sunday. I'm almost done with Act 1, I think.

My import was my Casteless Dwarf. She turned out way different than I expected her to. I romanced Zevran again, except this time it wasn't after breaking up with Alistair. My dwarf hated Alistair pretty much from the start. He was such a whiny baby and super dumb. When it came to deciding who to put on the throne, she wanted to kill Anora so badly, but that would have left Alistair in charge and seriously who would want him in charge of an entire country? That's just asking for trouble.  It was pretty rough, because I didn't have her on my side during the Landsmeet. My character basically insisted that Loghain had to die, which put me at an immediate disadvantage. I had no idae how hard the Landsmeet was to win without her on your side. My favorite part of the play through was killing all the elves. Especially since Shale and Morrigan were both in my party. Shale saying how she was just trying to picture Zathrian's head being squished sealed the deal, and then Morrigan approving after I chose was awesome.

So in DA2 I made a two-handed tank, and am currently roaming around Kirkwall with Varric, Bethany, and Merrill. I just started the quest for Fenris, but I don't know if I'll replace Merrill with him or not in my party. No sign of Isobela yet, but that will probably happen soon. I'm nearing the end of Act 1. So far I'm not entirely sure where my Hawke stands on most of the big issues in the story. She's pretty pro-arishok and at this point hates both the mages and the templars. I'm expecting the final Templar/Mage decision to be very much like my Dwarf's Anora/Alistair decision and picking the lesser of two evils rather than supporting one faction over the other.

The playthroughs I'm trying to get done before November actually turned up as one of my world states because of a selection of more varied choices. Actually, Keep testing helped inspire me on that front!

My male Cousland makes a bunch of tough choices in the interest of practicality - which is one reason I've stalled out in Redcliffe. I don't especially want to watch Connor die. :/ That and I'm suffering from DA burnout. I was going to try and do the non-OGB with him based off of possibilities discussed here, but when I actually looked at the wiki, it seems a little like cheating/unintended behavior (even with the card there at the end)....so I'll probably just go for my original ending instead, which is to have him go for the OGB.

Regarding what choices to make, is anyone else in a bit of a dilemma regarding Dagna?

... She's already been confirmed to be in Dragon Age: Inquisition (representing the Circle, I believe) BUT in the epilogue slides for Dragon Age: Origins it claims that there are whispers of an Exalted March to be contemplated upon Orzammar due to her research and how this leads apostates/malificar to harbour in Orzammar.

So the issue is to either let Dagna join the Circle and see her appearance in DA:I which would in turn possibly spark the Exalted March which could result in a massive loss of life of both the Chantry and Dwarves OR keep her in Orzammar with her father which may not result in her appearance for DA:I but will avoid the Exalted March.

Could anyone share what they think of this scenario as I find it rather interesting yet difficult to make. Also, there is an Exalted March if the Warden allows a Chantry to be set up in Orzammar, so I wonder if these two decisions merged could result in a super-mad Chantry/Divine.

The devs have also claimed that we can take some of those ending slides as rumors rather than fact. I'm not going to let whatever the slides say determine what I do with each of my characters. I know I openly play with metagaming, but I really try to make sure the decisions I make are the right ones for the character I'm playing rather than what happens in the end.

I have five world states on the go:

  1. Mage Rights- Every pro-Mage decision I could make, combined with just generally being a nice guy. This is my personal canon.
  2. Chantry Believer- Every pro-Templar/Chantry decision possible, usually with a noble/diplomatic attitude.
  3. Elven Freedom- Pro-Dalish, then pro-City Elf. Over-riding sense of anti-human anti-Chantry morals.
  4. Golden Profits- Yeah this one is all about the money and power.
  5. Bloodlust- How many people can die in one playthrough?!

I'm trying to avoid any idea of what may or may not happen in DA:I. I haven't been following the story of DA:I. I don't want to know the story of DA:I. I'd much rather experience it as I go with my initial "canon" response, and then experience other things through discussing friends' stories as well as through secondary imports. I don't think about the consequences of the actions, but more "what would this character have done." Only after I've played through the whole game once will I start looking into varying decisions and meta-gaming the import process. I have 2 characters that will get their own IC play through of DA:I, and might do a 3rd, but I'm not sure I could get myself to play through DA:O again. I've already put 130 hours into the Steam version, not including how many hours were sunk in the original retail release before I got the Ultimate Edition on steam. (it's kinda sad I'm close to 200 hours into the game, but have only fully completed it twice)

I also have a habit of saving before a decision is made, making in-character decisions, making a new save, and then loading my pre-decision save to see what other dialog options would have done. Then, after exploring several options, reverting to my post-decision save that I made and continuing with the story. This lets me see things like the Kitty quest in Stone Prisoner play out, without needing to do it on multiple characters.

Following DA:I I doubt the Chantry will be in a position to call exalted marches, what with its senior leadership dead and the templars no longer under their control. If it hasn't happened by now, it won't happen and will remain as a rumor.

Hey there everyone I just got in today so I thought I would share my World States or my ideas for my World States!

My first World State and most likely my favorite is my "Gold" World State which is basically the World State where all the best choices I think I made in game will appear.

Then my second World State is the "Silver" World State where I do the opposite of the "Gold" World State or I make choices in the Keep I simply could not do in the games.

Pretty basic, I know but that's what I got!

I've currenly done two serious world-states. I have done a third one but it was mostly just messing around with the different options.

So my two world-states are:

1. My "canon" playthroughs of both games. So this world state is not centered around a specific class, or both the Warden and Hawke siding with the mages, or anything like that. To anyone else it might just look like a random set of choices.

2. A "worst choices" world state. Now, this involves a lot of the companions either dying or leaving in some way. Fenris is returned to his master, Alistair gets executed, Wynne dies at the Broken Circle, Shale perishes when siding with Branka, etc. It also contains plot-related choices that I'd consider the 'worst'. I know this term is subjective, but it includes things like neglecting to help Redcliffe, having Irving die at the Circle, killing Merrill's clan, etc. I have noticed that some options regarding choices like these were either bugged or missing, so I've given some feedback on that and hope it will get fixed, as it'll sure be interesting to see the consequences of such a world state in Inquisition or any other future games in the series.
