I heard of some people naming their male Hawkes Ethan.
I did it too just because his last name was Hawke lol

The Warden: Claire Cousland, Warrior, Dual Wields Swords, has a diplomatic personality but still has a sense of humor. Her look I actually based off someone else's Warden but changed several things to my preference (short red hair in 3 hair ties, green eyes etc), her back story I based off on clues in game, she was raised as a warrior so she is a tomboy, doesn't care much for her affairs being decided, speaks her mind and hates formalities. She realized she preferred women when she came of age, having several trysts with the female elf servants but the first woman that she really liked for was Iona but we know how that went and the first woman she fell in love with was Leliana.
Choices: Romanced Leliana, sided with the mages, saved Redcliffe, Conner and Isolde are alive, sided with the dalish, didn't defile the urn, sided with Caridin and Harrowmant is King, Alistair and Anora rule together, Loghain killed by Warden, Warden is Alive, all companions alive. Awakening: all companions alive, saved Amaranthine, Architect is alive, let Morrigan go through the Eluvian.
The Champion: Claire Hawke, Mage, has a sarcastic personality to deal with the tragic events of her life, I always liked how default female Hawke looked so I always use default female Hawke with the blood smear which in my head canon is actually a scar she earned in a altercation with a certain Qunari in Lothering. Unlike The Warden, Hawke always knew she preferred women, having several one night stands with her sister's female friends and one she actually liked until she was killed by the Qunari Sten and in her rage she helped bring the beast in while hiding her magic and that is where she got the scar, Hawke always held a grudge for the Qunari but she didn't let it get in the way of earning the Arishok's respect in Kirkwall. After loosing both her brother and sister and then her mother Hawke hides her grief with her humor. She found a kindred spirit in Isabela who reminded her of herself, sarcastic and a love for women.
Choices: Romanced Isabela, both Bethany and Carver are dead, all companions alive, earned the Arishok's respect, pretty much made all the good choices, helped Tallis and sided with Larius. Sided with the mages.
The Inquisitor: Claire Trevelyan, Warrior, Two Handed Swords, Since the warden had red hair and hawke had black hair she will probably have blonde short hair and brown eyes, she will not care for her noble upbringing, she wants to be seen as a normal person and not all that interested in religion (she is not atheist however). She will have a witty personality but will be serious when she has to be. She keeps her sexuality a secret until she meets the elf rouge Sera who brings her out of her wall she has built around herself. When not on quests or saving the world she will be at the Tavern with Sera enjoying a drink.
Choices: Romance will be Sera, will side with the mages.
All my heroine's have the same first name because in my head canon I role play that Andraste is either her last name or a name that people call her, like if her real name has been forgotten and that her real name was in fact Claire and so certain women born with this name are tied to a certain fate/destiny that ties them all together.
Hahah, I didn't know the bone pit dragon was a known troll! I feel so included now XD.
Thankfully, my world states have been varied enough that I've ran into bugs and inconsistencies without having to pick randomly. I'm guessing the majority of the work regarding bugs and inconsistencies has already been done by earlier beta testers though, hahah (I've only been in for a few days).
I'm not sure that's the case since I think most of us start with our "canon" warden who often is pretty good at choosing the optimal path. It's the less chosen options that will have undiscovered bugs because fewer people are playing with them. I'm now trying options that I know to be impossible which is giving some funny results. I was able to keep Alistair as my warden's boyfriend after executing him and someone got a male dwarf to be Alistair's queen. These are the types of things that can slip through the cracks because most players who are "in the know" don't try them. Zombie Tali showing up for sexytimes after her suicide in ME3 probably slipped through because it didn't occur to anyone that a Talimancer would let her die.
My canon world state is CE rogue Warden, romanced Alistair, put Anora on the throne, saved the mages, saved Connor, made peace between the Dalish and werewolves, chose Bhelen and destroyed the anvil, had Alistair do the DR, spared the Architect and saved Amaranthine. All companions alive (except Justice). Rogue Hawke friendmanced Anders, sided with the mages, kept Bethany alive and killed the Arishok.
My second world state is everything I think few people will do. Dwarf commoner rogue, romanced Zevran, killed most companions including dog, sided with Dalish and Templars, Harrowmont on the throne, saved the Anvil, defiled the ashes, drunk Alistair, Loghain DR, spared the Architect, saved Vigil's keep, killed Nate.
i'm having a terrible time choosing between canon DAO states that are basically the same. Female Surana, romanced Alistair, recruited everyone, all personal quests completed, Behlen on the throne, sided wth Caridin, convinced Zathrian to end the curse, all the good choices. The only difference between them is Alistair staying in the wardens versus Alistair king with her as his mistress - i'll probably end up playing both with different hawkes and inquisitors, because i can't decide what i want for DA2 either and we have three whole different mages in inquisition, and mages are my favorite. My played hawkes are also all purple goody-two-shoes, the only difference is who they romanced, and i end up too invested in fictional pixel people's love lives to decide what flows better with Surana.
i tried making a sad worldstate making all the depressing choices i couldn't do ingame, saw the tile with the stabbed anders, ended up crying a little. i'm weak.

Given that alistair's VO has recorded lines (thus alistair is likely to return) I would pick Alistair as king just because there's a higher change he'll show up in DA:I. As for the evil world states, we'll that's what sharing worlds states are for
If even making a bad state is hard for you, just ask someone else to make one and import theirs into your game if you wanted to play a world with more negative history.

For now my default is with him king because of that, but there's still a long time until Inquisition and i have a terrible time making decisions. Doesn't help that I want to know all the things exactly right now haha I ended up spoiling myself for all the DA2 cameos before I could decide which save to import. I'm terribly impatient with stuff like that.
I'm valiantly making a sad/evil worldstate now (the crying was a bit of an exageration), just needed to step away from the more intense parts of the fandom for a while. And there are so many bad choices! I'm happy that the keep gives us the opportunity to have these worldstates without actually playing them, because i dont think i'd ever feel clean again if not. I hadn't realize how much you can **** up until I saw everything side by side.

DA:I is the first DA game that I managed to follow pre release closely and will probably have to ban myself from the forums a week before the game comes out to avoid spoilers so I know the feeling. ![]()
There are a lot of people who can't pick the hard choices while playing, and even I have to roleplay someone willing to make such choices to do it. Some even blind side me to the point where at the time I couldn't conceive doing it. (Having Meridith kill Bethany was one) I'm also glad the keep lets those kinds of people have their negative world...except the true impact is lost. It's a different feeling to click a box saying you killed Anders and witnessing the action played out by your own button press/click.
I wonder if the keep will encourage those who have never played/couldn't finish an evil character to do it in DA:I
The guidelines for my worldstates are the Templars always win and it sucks to be Dalish.
Origins: Ora Brosca (female Dwarf Commoner, Warrior [Berserker/Reaver]) was a brutal pragmatist; she believed in the survival of the fittest, and was willing to use any possible weapon against the Blight. Sided with the Templars in Broken Circle, sided with the Werewolves in Nature Of The Beast, Redcliffe got royally screwed over, I defiled the Urn of Sacred Ashes. I put Bhelen on the throne (in the hopes of more rights for the casteless) and repaired the Anvil of the Void. Executed Loghain, Anora rules alone, Alistair died to kill the Archdemon. I let The Architect live and burned Amaranthine to the ground. Romanced Leliana.
DA2: Gwenyvere Hawke (female Warrior [Templar]) grew up terrified of her apostate father and sister, and took solace in authority figures when Kirkwall seemed to be spiraling into madness. I gave Isabella to the Qunari (and let the Arishok live), killed Anders, wiped out Merrill's clan and had her destroy the Eluvian, and had Bethany executed by Meredith. Torn between a Fenris or a Sebastian romance.
Inquisition: My canon playthrough will be as Imperia Trevelyan, a raging ****** of a Templar who is shamelessly bigoted against elves. She believes her powers are the proof that the Maker has chosen her to lead a crusade against magic in Thedas. Aiming for a Cullen or Blackwall romance, partying it up with Cassandra, Varric, and Bull.

I have to be roleplaying to make the hardest choices too, but i never managed to be in the state of mind to make all of them with the same character because i am a big softie. After my first playthrough i sort of gravited towards one hard choice per character, perhaps unintentionally, depending on what made sense for them. which in retrospect would have been a terrible idea if we couldn't edit worldstates. My last hawke is exactly the same save as my pro-mage-rights hawke, right down to romancing Anders, except he does an 180 after All That Remains, sides with the templars, and executes him. very very sad, really.
anyway, it has certainly encouraged me. i generally like my escape fantasies to be uplifting, but i'm curious to see what changes in the story with an evil/ruthless Warden/Hawke.
I never played DA:O, but when I found out that the Warden could be related to Hawke I simply couldn't resist the temptation! So my Warden is an Amell who didn't romance anyone and made Alistair the king because he was king on my DA2 so I did that to keep the continuity and because he seemed like a cool guy. She's very supportive of Mages because she's one. I also found out Cullen had an infatuation with the female mage Warden so it's kind of my headcanon that it will stay that way even during the events of the Inquisition.
For DA2 I uploaded my Ines Hawke which is a rogue and rivalmanced Fenris, she's also very supportive of mages because she loves her sister who was taken into the circle. Great friends with Varric and a very diplomatic person, also very relaxed and kind of creeped out by Anders, but he was a permanent member of the party along with Fenris and Varric.
For the Inquisition I plan on another human, I don't know, it's just that I love playing humans because it allows me to connect more with the character BUT I could try out a Qunari, because freaking Qunari are HOT. I'm brokenhearted about Varric and Cole not being romanceable so I'm probably staying alone, but I plan on making my Inquisitor a relaxed person and very funny and flirty, a fun person to be around but who also gets the job done and can understand everyone, even if she doesn't relate to their point of view. Class, maybe a Warrior because it's the only class I haven't tried, or rogue again. Varric will be again, a permanent member of my party, maybe the other two being Cole and Iron Bull.

This is my main and closest to what I've imported into DA2. I still haven't decided between Aeducan and Brosca for an alternate (any suggestions?).

To Be Continued...
I have eight world states, but this is the 'canon' one that I played first. It'll be my initial import into Inquisition:
The Warden was a female human noble who romanced Alistair and became queen. (I had no idea this was going to become such a clichéd set of choices when I first started playing her five years ago on DAO release day ...) All companions were alive and well at the end of the game, with the obvious exception of Loghain. She saved Redcliffe along with Connor and Isolde, rescued the mages, cured the werewolves, destroyed the Anvil and put Harrowmount on the throne. Later on she killed the Architect, saved the city of Amaranthine and let Morrigan leave without protest. In general, if there was a diplomatic and helpful option that is the one she would choose.
My first Hawke was aggressively pro-mage, and a lot less interested in talking than my Warden. (She was really a big softie once you got to know her, though, and tried to help people in trouble.) Carver died, Bethany joined the Grey Wardens, Aveline married Donnic and stayed with Hawke, Varric was Hawke's best pal, Merrill kept the Eluvian. Meanwhile, Isabela ran off with the book at the end of Act 2 and Hawke never met Fenris. If there was a pro-mage option, she chose it. If it involved killing a few Templars, so much the better.
I'm torn over what to do about Anders and Sebastian. In my actual game, Hawke romanced Sebastian but ended up sparing Anders. However, based on what's in the Keep at the moment, it looks like the Keep will only acknowledge the romances if they're active at game completion. (Except in the case of Anders - you can romance him and still stab him, at least right now.) That was the hardest decision in DA2 for me, and now I'm torn about it all over again! I can tell the Keep I killed Anders when I didn't, in hope of getting a line or two of dialogue about Sebastian. Or I can grit my teeth when the game says Hawke wasn't in love with anybody.
Dragon Age: Origins
I liked the idea of having the Amell family have such a big impact on Thedas so after I finished DA2 I went back and made an Amell Warden
Name: Lydia Amell (named after skyrim's lydia) completely in love with leliana
Prologue
Cured Mabari Hound (in the keep I fed the prisoner)
The Arl of Redcliffe
Helped Redcliffe fight, Helped Redcliffe prepare, Connor alive (not possessed), Bella took ownership of tavern, Freed Bevin & paid for sword, Helped Owen's daughter escape (although I forgot to do that in-game), Isolde is alive.
The Urn of Sacred Ashes
Urn not poisoned, Lied to Kolgrim. Brother Genitivi alive and well. Killed Andraste
Broken Circle
Mages Supported, First Enchanter Irving survived battle
Orzammar Quests
Sided with Caradin, Bhelen rules Orxammar, Said Ruck died, Helped Burkel create Chantry, Helped Zerlinda reconcile with family, Helped Orta join the assembly, Asked permission for Dagna to study, Proved Legion connected to noble house, Completed Rogek's lyrium deal , Gave the tome back to shaperate
Elves:
Brokered peace between elves and were-wolves, Brought Cammen & Gheyna together, Saved the Halla, Told Arthas about wife's death, Brought Varathorn ironbark, Returned Deygan to Dalish camp, found Wynne's Friend
Denerim
Ser Landry alive, Handled the Crimson Oars, Returned amulet to beggar (if it was the elf), Brought scroll to Sister Justine (in the keep, didnt know about this when I played) Helped clear customers out of Pearl, Told Bann Sighard about Oswyn, Hardened Alistair
The Landsmeet
Alistair is married to Anora, Loghain lives (did DR with Morrigan)
The Battle of Denerim

(thanks for the format
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another slot since I have more world states I'd like to use, but if we aren't so lucky, these are the ones I'll be going forward with:
The March to Glory
Aredan Cousland, an ambitious and pragmatic but compassionate young noble was recruited into the Grey Wardens after his family was slaughtered at the hands of Arl Howe. During his quest, he entered into a passionate romance with the witch Morrigan, slaying her mother at her behest. Merging political opportunism with the best interests of his nation, he brokered an alliance with Queen Anora, placing her on Ferelden's throne in return for her hand in marriage. After undergoing a dark ritual with his lover, he slew the Archdemon, later putting a final end to the Blight by eliminating the Architect in Amaranthine. After seeking out his love for one final encounter, he returned to his wife in Denerim, a hero of all Ferelden.
Brandon Hawke's relationship with his family became strained following the death of Bethany during the flight from Lothering. After becoming embroiled in Kirkwaller disputes with the Qunari, he was proclaimed Champion of the city after slaying the Arishok in single combat. He was later forced to flee Kirkwall with his lover, Merrill, after helping to incite the mage rebellion and killing Knight Commander Meredith.
The Soft Beating of War Drums
Ahva Surana was a prodigious and dutiful - albeit severe - mage of Kinloch Hold. She joined the Grey Wardens after her friend, Jowan, destroyed his phylactery and revealed himself to be a maleficar. She found unexpected love in the form of the bard Leliana, helping her to find and kill her old mentor Marjolaine. She entered into a dispute with her fellow Warden Alistair after she insisted on recruiting the traitor Loghain into the Warden's ranks, but nevertheless installed Alistair as king of Ferelden alongside Queen Anora. A shrewd political operator, Ahva was named Commander of the Grey and Chancellor of the Crown following the death of Urthemiel.
Marian Hawke was an adept swordswoman woman left scarred and hostile by the death of her brother Carver. She found a peaceful solution to the Qunari invasion of Kirkwall after handing over the thief Isabela to the Arishok, being named Champion of Kirkwall for her efforts. She reluctantly aided templar efforts to put down the mage rebellion, being proclaimed Viscountess of Kirkwall following the death of Knight Commander Meredith.
The Darkest Days
Duran Aeducan, the arrogant and callous middle child of King Endrin of Orzammar, was exiled from Orzammar after murdering his brother. He joined the Grey Wardens, but proved himself a cruel and destructive force, leaving the world in tatters with only himself coming on top.
A further blow to Thedas came with the rise of Lyssa Hawke, a murderess and cheat concerned only with her own welfare. She stumbled into becoming Champion of Kirkwall, but enthusiastically turned her blades on the rebelling mages, even standing by to watch the execution of her own sister.
Tears of the Clowns
Arella Tabris was conscripted into the Wardens after murdering Vaughan Kendalls, son of the Arl of Denerim after he raided the Alienage, killing and raping as he went. She was an impish and impulsive woman, Arella disguised her bitterness with laughter and jesting. What began as a fling with the assassin Zevran evolved into a passionate romance, with the two falling deeply in love with one another. Growing to maturity, Arella reluctantly recruited Loghain Mac Tir into the Grey Wardens' ranks, resulting in her friend Alistair leaving her side in a rage. After Loghain sacrificed himself to end the Blight, Arella travelled to Par Vollen with Zevran and Sten.
Simeon Hawke was a cad who used humour as a shield for his deep grief at the loss of his brother. A libertine, he found solace in the pirate Isabela following his sister's scrape with death and recruitment into the Grey Wardens, later slaying the Arishok and being named Champion of Kirkwall. He aided the mage rebellion, fleeing Kirkwall with Isabela soon after.

It's not too late to play it,
you don't have a PC/Console that can play it?
I have five sets of Wardens and Hawkes, each sort of... thematically related. So far I've also got the Inquisitor set up for each as well, with the race, class and probable LI based on those themes. Because I'm a huge dork.
