So, I originally intended to create 4 worldstates: one based on my canon Warden (the only one I completed all the way through) and 3 based on Wardens who I created, liked the idea of, but never got too far with. My Canon Warden would be accompanied by the first Hawke I played (and until only a few days ago, the only one I completed), one would include my second Hawke, and the other 2 would be Hawkes I made up just by fooling around with choices in the Keep.
However, now that I've finished my second Hawke, I'm starting to rethink this all.
Way it stood - my canon Warden was an Amell who was very pro mage. My first Hawke was a diplomatic blood mage, who sided with his people for 90% of the game. During The Last Straw he ended up siding with the Templars.
Problem was I didn't enjoy that Hawke too much, while I was playing him. I ended up liking him a lot more after I sat and thought about his progression as a character - but it took me a while to really have much of an attachment to him.
Enter my second Hawke. She was a two-handed Templar, who joked about everything. She became very mercenary-like; only doing things for the money, and following through with exactly whatever her employer asked for, after spending a year with the mercenary company. She had a very close relationship with her sister, until she joined the Wardens - and this (alongside her hatred of Meredith) was what spurred her to side with the mages.
I absolutely loved this character the entire time I played her. When Act 2 came around, and I saw Alistair and Bethany fighting together as Grey Wardens, it kind of all just clicked for me. I'm not sure which I want to be my "canon" worldstate now - but so far I think I'm only actually going to have 2 states going in to Inquisition.
The first state will be the one I listed earlier with Amell/Mage Hawke. And the second will be Amell/my Warrior Hawke. As of now, I really don't care about my other Wardens - those are the only 2 states I have an interest in currently.
