I didn't see any of my Xbox 360 DAO characters available to select so I guess that'll come later, so I'm currently manually going through making a world state that best matches what save I would've chosen.

Cool to be involved in this.

Pretty much all my world states are the same - paragon to a tee for the most part and besties with everyone. All that's different is who they end up with. I've easily been able to to recreate the games I was wanting to port, which makes me VERY happy. Good to know so much work won't go to waste. *GLEE* I'm actually excited to create characters I was wanting to have a story for, but not really wanting to play through.

One of my 'canon' World States (most of mine reflect this one, except Cousland, she becomes Queen):

DA1:
Hero: Dalish Female, Rogue - Alive and Well
Companions: Romanced Zevran, Recruited everyone (except for Loghain) and they're alive and well, Persuaded Reverend to release Sten, Alistair became king (and they were not lovers), Loghain Executed by Warden), Morrigan had baby with Alistair.
Prologue: Had guard share lunch and cured Mabari Hound
Nature of the Beast: Brought Cammen & Gheyna Together, Brought Varathorn Ironbark, Returned Deygan to Dalish Camp, Brokered Peace, Told Athras about Wife's Death, and Saved the Halla.
Paragon of Her Kind: Sided with Caridin, Bhelen Rules Orzammar, Killed Ruck but said he died Heroically (still not sure if I'm keeping this decision, it wasn't one I made in game), Asked Permisssion for Dagna to study, Proved Legion of Dead connected to Noble caste, returned tome to Shaperate, didn't help Burkel create the chantry, helped Zerlinda reconcile with family, helped Orta join assembly, didn't complete Rogek's lyrium deal, defeated Branka.
Broken Circle: Mages Supported, First Enchanter Irving Survived Battle
Warden's Keep: Gained power of blood, slayed Sophia
The Urn of Sacred Ashes: Not defiled.
Redcliff: Helped fight and prepare, freed Bevin and paid for sword, Bella left Redcliffe to start her own Brewery, helped Owen's daughter escape, Isolde is alive, Connor alive and not possessed.
Denerim: Ser Landry alive, handled the Crimson Oars, Helped clear customers out of Pearl, didn't complete Slim Couldry's crime Wave, Completes Master Ignacio's Assassinations, Brought Scroll to Sister Justine, Told Ban Sighard about Oswyn, Gave Alfstanna ring, Returned Amulet
Landsmeet: Alistair and Anora marry and become King & Queen
Ending: Warden took the final blow to the Archdemon and survived.
Awakening: Killed architect, protected Amaranthine

DA2:
Hero: Marian, Mage - Diplomatic, Varric exaggerated a bit
Companions: Romanced Fenris (alive & well), Bethany died, Carver became a Grey Warden, Friends with Varric (Spared Bartrand, helped with family home, and he didn't keep the Lyrium idol), Recruited Isabella (retruned and didn't give up), Merrill stayed (alive & well, didn't destroy eluvian, didn't kill clan), didn't approve of Anders' actions at Chanry and executed him, Aveline married Donnic, Aveline stayed with Hawke, recruited Sebastian, didn't kiss Tallis and didn't make her angry.
Prologue: Joined mercenaries

Act 1: Turned mages over to templars, returned cargo to Martin, Kelder Killed, returned Saemus, Ginnis died, killed Danzig, didn't tell truth about Ghyslain's wife, solved mystery of missing miners, didn't blackmail Ser Thrask, Idunna killed, sent Feynriel to Dalish, Keran reinstated with Templars, defended Ketojan from Qunari, Karras alive and well.
Act 2: Killed Gascard, didn't side with Varnell, didn't side with Petrice, discovered looter of Hubert's caravans, didn't help Yevhen, fought alongside the guard, Feynriel freed and goes to Trevinter to study, killed Arishok.
Act 3: Let Zevran go, killed Nuncio, to save Zevran, handed conspirators to Orsino, rescued Nathaniel, reunited Charade with Gamlen, returned Emile to the Circle, killed dragon at Bone Pit, sided with Mages.
Legacy: Sided with Larius, found Malcolm's will.

Decisions I'd still like to see: What boon was picked? What did the Warden plan on doing after the game? What did you do with Jowan?

Right, so Harrowmont is notably the nicer of the two men in Orzammar you can choose to side with(him and Bhelen), but Bhelen's the one who puts Orzammar in a better position with the outside world.

My Warden chose Harrowmont back in DAO and he can't metagame, so I'm considering sticking with it, knowing its not the ideal choice.

I think I only picked Harrowmont once, and chose Bhelen each time after.  That choice was made before I really paid attention to the slides at the end.  I just didn't like how wishy washy Harromont sounded. "If I put you on the throne will you give me my troops?"  "I'll take to the assembly and they'll decide." seriously?  ask Behlen the same question you get a yes, it will be done. That's all my non dwarfs really care about.  and my dwarfs I never played an Aeducan that took what he did in the origin against him.. They are dwarfs, it kind of comes with the territory.  My current Auducan is going to choose Harromont, because i want a save where I make the decisions I don't normally make. (there are only a few things I won't do in the playthrough, I will never kill Zev (he's my favorite character. This game is going to be torture enough) I will not kill the dog, )   My canon Brosca picked Behlen for her sister, really.

I would like to see more than five world states.  I was hoping to have every possible choice covered by at least one of my iterations, and five just isn't enough.  Alistair alone has (between the different choices) at least seven possible fates. (King alone, King with Anora, King with Warden, still a Warden, wandering drunk, sacrificed killing Archdemon, Executed.)  And that is without even factoring in all the possible romance outcomes.  And given how few of Alistair's outcomes are compatible with Loghain surving the Landsmeet, you can't cover all of Loghain's possibilities either.

My favorite thing about the Keep approach rather than importing saves is that it lets us build choice sets that we are interested in seeing the outcomes from, but which wouldn't be particularly fun to actually play through.  My "Maximum Death" world state would often be amusing to play, but it would also result in a lot of fun content missing because the characters involved were either never recruited or dead early.  Also, I could never kill the dog in game, but clicking a "dead dog" tile, that's easy.

For my first World State, I was thinking I'd try to stick to my original play through choices, with maybe some tweaks to make it match my ideal State a bit better (for example, I know I initially sided with Harromont, but I switched to Bhelen here,) that and it's been so long since my original play throughs, I don't honestly remember all of the choices.

DA:O

Hero: Female Human Rogue, Alive and Well

Companions: Romanced Alistair, who performed the dark ritual with Morrigan so no one died killing Archdemon. Recruited Dog. Picked lock to Sten's cage, recruited Sten and returned Sten's sword. Recruited Wynne who's alive and well. Recruited Oghren. Recruited Zevran who's alive and well. Recruited Nathaniel who's also alive and well. Lelianna was recruited and is alive. Alistair killed Loghain in a duel and then became king with the Warden as his Queen. Shale also recruited and alive.

Prologue: Convinced the guard to share his lunch with the prisoner, and cured the Dog.

Urn of Sacred Ashes: Not defiled, and high dragon killed (if that gets implemented)

Arl of Redcliffe: Helped Redcliffe prepare and fight. Connor alive and not possessed. Isolde alive. Found Bevin, took the sword, then later returned it. Helped Owen's daughter escape. Helped Bella leave Redcliffe to start her own brewery.

Nature of the Beast: Brokered peace between elves and werewolves. Brought Cammen and Gheyna together. Saved the Halla. Told Athras about his wife, I felt if I was in his shoes I'd want to know the truth. Brought Varathron Ironbark. Returned Deygan to camp.

Paragon of Her Kind: Sided with Caridin. Bhelen rules Orzammar. Lied and said Ruck died in Deep Roads. Helped Burkel create Chantry. Helped Zerlinda reconcile with family. Helped Orta join Assembly. Sent Dagna to Circle to study. Proved Legion of the Dead's connection to a noble house. Returned tome to Shaperate. Completed Rogek's Lyrium deal. Defeated Branka.

Broken Circle: Mages supported and First Enchanter Irving alive.

Denerim: Ser Landry alive. Handled Crimson Oars, and cleared White Falcons out of the Pearl. Completed Slim's crime wave. Completed Master Ignacio's assassination contracts. Brought scroll to Sister Justine. Gave Alfstanna Irminric's ring. Returned the amulet to the deranged elf. Told Bann Sighard about Oswyn's torture.

Battle of Denerim: Warden killed Archdemon.

Awakening: Architect alive, and Amaranthine protected.

Witch Hunt: Did not go through Eluvian or stab Morrigan.

Stone Prisoner: Shale alive and well.

DA:II

Hero: Male, humorous rogue. Appearance matched Varric's description.

Companions: Romanced Anders. Bethany became a Grey Warden and did not die in the final battle. Isabela recruited and returned, but not handed over to Arishok. Didn't approve of Anders' actions, but left him alive. Aveline married Donnic and stayed with Hawke. Sebastian was recruited. Varric and Hawke were bestest buds, 'cause Varric's awesome. Bartrand was not killed, but Varric was convinced to not keep the idol. Fenris alive and well. Merrill stayed with Hawke and is alive and well. Merrill was convinced to destroy the Eluvian, and her clan was not killed. Didn't kiss Talis or make her angry.

Prologue: Joined smugglers.

Act 1: Convinced the Templars to leave. Returned Saemus and Ginnis is dead. Told Ghyslain the truth about his wife. Didn't blackmail Thrask. Sent Feynriel to the Dalish. Defended Ketojan. Returned Martin's cargo. Kelder, Danzig, and Idunna killed. Solved mystery of missing miners. Reinstated Keran in the Templars. Karras is alive and well.

Act 2: Killed Gascard. Discovered the looter of Hubert's caravans. Didn't help Yevhen. Took on raiders without guards. Feynriel freed from his nightmares and sent to Tevinter for study. Didn't side with either Varnell or Petrice. Javaris alive and well. Killed Arishok.

Act 3: Let Zevran go, and killed Nuncio. Rescued Nathaniel. Reunited Charade and Gamlen. Allowed Emile to go free. Handed conspirators to Orsino. Gave Keran to Templars. Killed High Dragon in the Bone Pit, (or is at least trying to multiple times over.) Sided with the Mages.

Legacy: Sided with Larius, and found Malcolm's will.

That's what I plan for my initial play through of Inquisition anyways. I think I'll also try a World state where the Warden and Hawke have very different personalities and ways of handling things, and one with all the death and mayhem possible.

(Thankfully I don't have to play through all of that death and mayhem because of the Keep, I don't think I could handle losing so many companions and allies. D:)

Playing around with the Keep has inspired me to start a new playthrough with my main Warden (although I was going to anyway, before DAI). I just completed Redcliffe and logged on to the Keep to make sure my choices were correct - and there's one that doesn't seem to have the option I ended up with. It's minor, but since we're revisiting Redcliffe in DAI I thought it was worth a mention, just in case. (I did also log it as a bug, but I thought I'd post about it here because it's possible there's an epilogue slide or something that I'm forgetting, that someone else might remember.)

It's the question about Bella in the tavern. The options in the Keep are:

- Bella Left Redcliffe

- Bella took over ownership of the tavern

- Bella left Redcliffe to start her own brewery

- Bella did not survive the events in Redcliffe

I didn't take any of the options to give Bella money or anything - I had Lloyd join the militia to defend Redcliffe and he survived, so the current state of affairs is that Bella is still working for Lloyd in Redcliffe at the tavern (with no conversation options available to change that), which isn't covered by any of the above choices - unless there's a slide later on that says she leaves, but I don't recall seeing that the last time I finished the game.

So - unless I'm remembering incorrectly - perhaps there needs to be a 'Bella still works for Lloyd at the tavern' option or similar?

My last playthrough ended this same way with Bella, although before the fight, I did offer to help her after, only Lloyd actually survived (I was surprised, as he never had lived before), and when I talked to her after the battle, there wasn't an option to give her money. So she stayed working there in my ending as well.

Personally, I would think a "Good" world state would be one where unnecessary character deaths are avoided.  I'll never understand why so many people think murdering Loghain is some kind of morally superior choice.  It's vengeance, pure and simple, and it's counterproductive.

I've never really looked at it as vengeance really as political expedience.  Eliminate a potential rival/rallying point for further civil unrest.  Same as if I were allowed to, Anora would be executed as well.

The thing with Loghain is that everything he did was because he honestly believed it was best for Ferelden.  Come on, unless you hardened him Alistair is blatantly unqualified to be a King, he's not even qualified to manage his own affairs.  The ideal outcomes, in terms of what is good for the kingdom, are Alistair either being executed or becoming a wandering drunk.

Hell, if there weren't Landsmeet outcomes that require a dead Loghain, I would probably have him survive in all but one of my world states.  He is a valuable resource, whereas Alistair is just a petulant child.

He was a bit whiney, yep, but Anora always came across to me as power hungry.    Really the warden ruling is the best bet scenario (and my warden usually ends up with Alistair so we know who the power behind the throne would be :D )

I'm looking forward to putting together a world state that I've only previously hypothesised about... namely one that leaves the whole of Thedas dangerously destablised. I loved that option where you allow the Chantry to be built in Orzamar but then it gets destroyed, and there's an end card that says that Orlais is considering a Divine March on the Dwarves. And whilst I know the end-cards aren't considered wholly cannon, that was a moment that I really really loved.

So yeah - a world with an unhardened Alistair on the throne, with the werewolves, with the Orzamar chantry and the Ferelden Circle standing, Harrowmount as King, an unassisted Redcliffe, a Viscount Hawke, a living Architect, sided with Larius (who's totally possess by Corephyus... two ancient old magisters roaming the world yes please).

Orlais, politically, is stretched to its limit at the start of DAO so sending it after the Dwarves weakens its defenses against Tevinter, who may then attack, who with a weakened northern defense would be open to attack from the Qunari leaving Ferelden to get squished in the middle.

I'm less interested in the individual characters making certain choices - Just really making a world state where the whole thing is ready to collapse in on itself.

Alistair was only whiny until you manlify (harden) him. Then he grew a spine and i trustend him enough to become a king. I don't think I could have hardened Leliana though, she became too mean after that.

Strike mean, replace with "Full to the brim with epic awesomesauce," and I would agree.  Hardening is the only way to make Alistair remotely tolerable, and takes Leliana from awesome some of the time to being almost as a good a character as Morrigan.

I just got done with my first set up in the Keep, and I tried to set it up with what I remember of my choices from the first time I played through each game.  I'm looking forward to playing around with all the different possibilities - I have secret evil plans to set up a tapestry where The Warden makes every choice to alienate as many people and factions as possible and leaves the world in a politically unstable place, just to see how that looks.  I like to make my playthroughs all the way good or all the way evil, so I want to set up tapestries that reflect those kind of characters.

My goal is to explore all the different possiblilites.

Trying to nail down the worst possible outcomes for all companions for my "Maximum Death" world state.  Somebody correct me if there is a "worse" way to go for anybody (without having to balance it out with a better outcome for someone else.)

Killed Dog

Didn't free Sten

Nathaniel died

Didn't recruit Oghren

Zevran died

Killed Wynne

Alistair executed

Killed Leliana

Killed Shale

Loghain died fighting the Archdemon

Morrigan stabbed going into the Eluvian

Both siblings dead (One in intro, one in deep roads)

Fenris returned to his master

Isabela did not return to Hawke (picked this over giving her to the Arishok, because otherwise the Arishok lives)

Anders executed

Merrill died

Sebastien not recruited

Aveline didn't marry Donnic, but stayed with Hawke (picked over her leaving, because if she leaves Merrill has to live)

Made Tallis angry

Varric kept the red lyrium idol

With the Keep, or rather, in tandem with the Keep, I'm getting ready to start a full playthrough of DAO, Awakenings, 2, the DLCs, etc.  (I'm not sure how far I'll get, but I think it'll be a good refresher, and to see if there are any plot points that aren't in the Keep, that I'd like to see there. :D

I generally play "good", but I think I'm gonna go for "pragmatic" and see how it goes. :D

I've actually shaped a couple of new world states for future Inquisitors based off of ideas gathered here. :D Which in turn reminded me of some possible tiles to add. Playing and being here has been really helpful in both directions. :)

I disagree with this.  once he started selling off the elves to slavery to fund his army  that's the point where the morality of my choice and some of my freinds over the years come in.  He put himself in charge and then only cared about the humans in his city. Why would a " good"   person be ok with that?

the wardens were able to build an army starting with only two people. no slavery was required. My wardens had no issue with anora and didn't have any personal issues with Lohgain (heck, besides the human warden the rest really don't even know who he was).  it always came down to the slavery thing for me and the wardens I played.  Do my wardens trust Loghain, who funds his army with slaves and knowingly lies about my own characters by blaming the death of the king and Duncan on him/her  or do my wardens trust Alistair that has been fighting beside them the entire time? It becomes an in game choice Alistiar or Loghain.

my favorite setup is a hardened Alistair and Anora together.   As I mentioned elsewhere in the keep discussions my current Aeducan (Seen in my avi) is going to make most of the decisions I do not normally take. that includes a living loghain and a probable drunken Alistair. i really do want to see what the different choices may mean for the games ahead.
