Damn, now I don't know whether to bring Ashley, Garrus, or Javik along with Tali. Might have to go with Aahley since I'll only have her for the last part of the game

You can always replay the game. If you take Ashley and Garrus this time, then when you replay the game you can take Javik and Tali if you want. Or make a save before doing the mission and take any 2 with you and then reload your save and bring the other 2.

True. This game is the only mass effect that in my opinion, is compelling enough on their own to warrant multiple individual playthroughs. The others are great, I just wouldn't play them over again unless I was going to try to change some decisions that would affect mass effect 3.

Any tips for taking down multiple brutes on insanity? The bit at the end of priority: tuchanka with about 5 brutes was problematic. Activated one hammer, took down two of them, then said to hell with it and ran over to the other hammers. Spamming the scorpian is nice and all, but it isn't good for multiple brutes

1) Give Garrus the Typhoon with armor piercing ammo.

2) Make popcorn. No need to pause. He'll have dealt with everything by the time you get back.

I took down 9 of them on insanity using James and T'soni. What I did is concentrate on 1 brute at a time. I have both squadmates fire at the brute and use their powers. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but then again its the first time I killed all the brutes before activating the hammers.

The typhoon sounds impressive. Where do I get mine?

I had javik and james with me. James' powers have high cooldown and javik spent too much time getting himself mauled to be of any use.

Garrus and Javik seem to be the best squad dialogue wise to take to the citadel, though I'd also be interested in using liara if she says anything profound

You need to have this to get the typhoon

Sorta like how you can unlock the Collector's Edition content (not sure if ALL of it can be unlocked this way, mind you) by changing some plot flags in Gibbed Save Editor.

Shooting that dirtbag Udina was even more satisfying than letting the council go boom in the first game. Been wanting to shoot him from the get go

Just got the leviathan and omega dlc. I was wondering when the latest I could do them would be.

Also, do any squadmates have dialogue for the dlc or are the silent just like the first two games?

You can wait until just before the assault on Cronos Station to do the DLCs. Squadmates have plenty of content in Leviathan, but none of the Normandy team accompany you to Omega, nor do they acknowledge it when it's over.

I figure Javik and Liara would have plenty of good dialogue for the Leviathan. Any thoughts on who has the best though?

The latest you can do both is just before Chronos

I have done Omega after the coup and Leviathan I either do after Thessia or the Monestary mission

Squadmates have dialogue in Leviathan and not in Omega. They don't show up for Omega. You get Aria and Nyreen(female Turian) for squadmates

Leviathan is divided into parts; you'll get a chance to change squadmates a few times. I usually take the LI on the final part, if possible, and I always take James along in the second part. Just seems to fit. But other than that, you can mix them up any way you like.

The banter in Leviathan are nothing spectacular. If you have a love interest you get a nice few extra snippets (at least Liara has some nice lines, I'm not entirely sure what the other LIs get), but other than that all squaddies have about equal dialogue.

Omega done after the coup just seems to fit.

Leviathan: I typically spread the missions out between the Priority missions.

Omega: For me, it makes the most sense to do it either right after the coup attempt or right after Thessia.

Who to bring on which missions: Admittedly, I'm a completionist with waaaay too much time on my hands; so, I've gotten into the habit of picking any two squadmates, playing the mission, then choosing the "restart last mission" auto-save and picking two different squadmates, until I've used them all.  Still requires two playthroughs to get both Kaidan and Ash, of course.

Killing Brutes: Get incendiary ammo with the squad evolution (either on yourself or on James), bring along any two of James, Garrus, Kaidan/Ashley, and Javik, and equip them with the prothean particle rifle with an armor penetration mod.  Any armoured enemy will melt quickly under sustained fire.

Do Omega and Leviathan after Rannoch.

Specifically do the fouth (final) Leviathan mission after Thessia.  Otherwise the information gained will feel quite redundant given what is learned on Thessia.

I tend to do Omega straight after the Citadel Coup.

Geez, this may be too late, but....

Don't do it. When you see a beacon, just stop there. That ending is truly, truly awful. It's more of a prank than an ending, and a cruel one at that, forcing your submission to a poisonous mix of the vilest totalitarian logic and a complete absence of any logic whatsoever just to trick you into feeling complicit in the crudest kind of franchise arson. It's all about clearing the table of all that you loved about the series, wrapping a bow around it and chucking it into the garbage can. Because that's what was convenient for the individuals in charge.

The "Extended Cut" doesn't improve anything, it's just an insincere attempt at soothing the dismayed players, like a syrup-dipped claw patting your head and a killbot voice whispering all will be OK, that it didn't really matter. Apparently works for some folks, though.

I was a huge fan of this series before that mess. Now, a couple of years later I still get angry thinking about it, to the point of not wanting to play any of the games by what was probably my favorite studio ever. It's not something that enhances my quality of life. I wish I could go back and avoid that... thing.

I was gonna drop some snark in here -- probably "call the waambulance" or some bit about tiny violins, since I'm lazy -- but that post's kinda amusing. I suppose you've had plenty of practice with them

Yeah.....it's a bit late. Nobody has commented on this thread since Thursday. But you decided to bring it back from near death, so that you may express your miserable angst. Have a cookie.
