use guides, cause im not going to get it on pc...  havent cared for them for a long time

though mods are fun and interesting, i only used them for fun. if i play the game to complete it, then i would never mod as they are not intended to be apart of the original game, but if im just screwing around in it then yes i will mod...  but i dont play pc anymore, so i dont

If possible, I'll use something like Cheat Engine to give myself a boost to money and/or skill points. If item or savegame modding becomes available, i'll probably use that too.

I'm not going to spend an eternity grinding stuff in a offline game if I can help it.

Since work keeps me super-busy, I'll probably play on Easy or Normal difficulty, if there is scaling difficulty at all this time around. I don't have time to spend hundreds of hours just to advance in the early part of the game, and I'm not tremendously skilled.  As for modding or console commands, though... I'm fine with mods, and if I've already beaten the main quest I might look into mods that make things easier (leveling faster, raising level cap, more gold, etc.).  But I tend not to use console commands in games other than the Sims, or VERY rarely in Skyrim.

That said, I expect mods to remain unavailable entirely to DA:I, so I'll probably never cheat in it other than to maybe keep the difficulty low so I can breeze through and enjoy the story.  I enjoy the strategic elements (I loved DA:O's strategic combat and I enjoy games like Civilization), but I'm horrible at character builds and not all that great at strategy in general either.  So rather than waste all my waking hours trying to beat the game when I should be doing other important real-world things, yeah.  No issues here with low difficulties, or cheats after I beat the game so I can just kick back and play my new character a different way this time 'round.

Unless you count the Dog mod, the only time I've ever cheated in either Dragon Age game were times I realised I had no potions or grenades before a fight when I couldn't get to a store and command-consoled in a bunch. I'd take out money at the same time, so it was just as if I'd magically summoned someone to sell me things before I fought the Arishok or Duke Prosper.

I'd be willing to do the same in DAI if I found myself in a similar situation and it was possible, although on my first run I'm more likely to just turn the game down to Casual if it's giving me trouble. (I normally play on Nightmare, so I tend to melt things on Casual. Although I'm planning to start Inquisition on Normal the first time and see how that feels.)

^This.

I'll play on casual for the same reasons as above. But as for money codes and such, no.

I'm playing on the ps4, so no mods for me. Though I mod the hell out of DA:O and DA2. :P And I really enjoy console commands as well! If that's what you mean by cheating. My computer isn't powerful enough for DA:I, so... no cheats for me. It's fine, though. I played the first two just fine in their vanilla forms (started those on ps3). I was actually disappointed because it was DahliaLynn's Royal Wedding that even got me to pick up the game. Needless to say, I was disappointed when I got the console version of DA:O only to beat it :P And... no wedding!

I use "Skip the Fade" in DAO, because the time commitment doesn't equal the time commitment (I think that's why they included the stat boosts) but I play it straight the first play through, then might mod with custom armors and weapons if I like the look.

Like most, no, not first run through..after that, probably.  It's no shock that one of the most downloaded mods for origins is Skip the fade...

I love cheating. Every time I've cheated in a game, I've come to enjoy it far more.

RPGs tend to be offenders when it comes to power level. I recall in Skyrim, I had 60 points in heavy armor, full dwarven armor, and several of the perks, but a CAVE BEAR could kill me six hits. This was after I'd already spent an hour power leveling my heavy armor by letting a skeleton archer hit me over and over again as I healed myself.

You should try Skyrim Redone on Legendary. The bear will kill you in 2 hits.

Used the duplication exploits for money and tomes in DA:O, only way I could finish the game.

Good thing about playing on console is that mods are non existent. So no temptation there.

Used the wiki for both DA games and even ME games, gets painfull loading saves over and over.

This time, dont plan to use any exploits,  on my first playthrough

I don't cheat (well I've used the skip the fade mod , but after 4 or 5 playthrough ...)

When I start cheating , it's the beginning of the end .

It usually means I'm getting bored.

But for my first playthrough I'm going to play on easy or normal because I probably won't have the patience to die again and again...I usually play on hard/nightmare when I'm more familliar with the game.

Never.

Seriously. I never cheat. I just don't play on higher Difficulties than "normal".

I don't cheat in my RPG games, I play on the easiest difficulty offered instead.  This tends to even out everything I may be annoyed by with RPG design (power creeps, grinding, not All Builds are useful, stat allocation problems etc), and I can make 'mistakes' or not need to be so anal about min-maxing JUST RIGHT in order to succeed.  There is nothing more annoying than playing a build I find enjoyable, only to reach a point in the game where I am ill-fitted for getting past the area/boss/enemies/etc due to my preferences and choices in build and skills 20+ levels ago not being "the right" choices in the game mechanics' eyes.

I always find if I discover a cheat or exploit I get bored of the game soon after. I spent an hour or two knocking things I had no chance of killing off cliffs in Dark Souls ended up getting bored and never finishing the game.

Wow, I'm really surprised how many here seem to cheat. For me, cheating totally destroys the atmosphere of a game. In fact, one of the reasons I don't buy item DLCs (apart from that they are overprized) is, that they just "appear" out of nowhere. You can always decrease the difficulty if the game is too hard or you're annoyed by the fights.

Mods, on the other hand, even mods which make the game easier but feel like a part of the original game, are great.

I always love to cheat in RPG's. Having a character with maxed out stats and a few million sovereigns has always made the games so much more entertaining for me.

Yep, if they will be enabling the console.  I hate starting a game at level one; the PC is supposed to be some badazz warrior, rogue, or mage, yet has no skills.  I just mentally could never accept that.  I cheat myself the first 10 levels and enough gold to buy some decent gear...scale the difficulty accordingly.  Now if the level advancement is comparable to ME3 (very fast) then I mind much less.  Then again, for me, beating the combat is less relevant than exploring the story elements.  Combat is something I do to occupy myself between interactions and conversations with NPCs.

The only time I ever use that command is with spiders, I won't give those bitches time to eat my face...

I like spiders. I have adopted a lady spider on my porch and have been feeding it critters for three years now. It's about the length of my index finger.

I wish we had nice spiders in DA I instead of having to kill all of the giant, evil ones.

Console player so no cheating for me I guess. I will use strategy and armor guides though when playing at higher level. Maybe some plot ones too if there is hard choices like: your companion dies unless you have done something in certain way etc.

1st playthrough = no cheating, no save reloading, no strategy guides. I want to be fully surprised and i want to deal with my decisions.
