I don't have one yet, but I want one badly. When I do finally get one, any suggestions on the best builds? I'm also interested in builds for the two Cereberus defectors, Batarians and Volus characters.

1)Cain Mines are the single most powerful power in the game bar none. They are capable of destroying entire spawns in a couple of seconds. Skipping them isn't really an option unless you're playing a hipster build.

2)AP arrows are spectacular at one shotting infantry with a charged Arc Pistol shot/heavy melee combo. Graal is also pretty nice if you go with Ari's build but I like the Arc's ability to multi hit bosses and shot through cover. You're still one shotting most infantry.

3)Concussive arrows are also very nice for Phantoms, bombers but I didn't really have room for them in my spec so I had to cut points somewhere.

Here's my hybrid build:

http://kalence.drupa...!34W56384!86838

Slightly less effective at archery than Ari's build due to only having 3 points in passives to get the grenade regen, and slightly less effective with cain mines than the traditional build for the same reason, but it's actually more flexible than either of them.

Try it, then if you find yourself focusing on just one or two powers you can respec it without the unused power.

no fitness. max everything else.
spec into debuff for conc arrows. so u can apply the 15% damage debuff before you nuke big targets.
armor arrows spec into debuff, not shred, since it will amplify ur damage vs armor, cain mines spec into the extra armor damage evolution, the radius options are purely preference, u wanna scorewhore max radius, wanna wipe out platinum atlas/pretorian spawns then spec damage.

venom, harrier, or talon, or arc pistol, hell any weapon is good on him. have fun enjoy the carnage

No fitness. Cain mines for Radius/armor/radius. Spec both arrows for their debuff options at rank 5 and all the extra grenade at ranks 4&6. Take a pistol with the power magnifyer and Geth scanner. Use the scanner to setup traps and blow up enemies through walls.

Also.. the bow is crap compared to the mines.. but of you want the bow, go full melee fitness and skip one of the arrows.

Spam cain mines... That's the only way I even remotely enjoyed this character.

Well.. that's obvious. I don't suggest those builds bc not everyone condones/knows how to even do the 5x6 glitch. When someone asks me for that specific information I'll gladly tell them.

Cain spam can be really powerful, but also really boring.

AP arrows can do the most damage of the arrow types. Properly specced, you can do around 5000-6000 damage per shot to armor. Combine that with a charge weapon that can fire at the same time and you'll do roughly 6000-7000 armor DPS, which is plenty to keep up with most of the overpowered classes.

Main downside: slow and lightly shielded. You're basically a drell without the speed boost. You also have a VERY hard time at extreme close range, as the slight delay on the arrow lock on effect will make you miss very frequently. However, you rock at medium to long range. Use Cains to guard your backside while you snipe spawns. You're especially effective at maps like Condor or Hydra, with long lines of sight. This is compounded by the way your arrows work; if you situate yourself right, you can remain crouched while firing arrows that will arc around cover to strike your target. Done properly, you can snipe entire waves to death while never actually revealing your location.

There are actually places in Condor, and probably other maps, where not even possessed scions can get you with their grenade spam.

The downside is that your damage is instantly reduced to about 1/4th by enemies with bubbles of denial. Banshees are the worst, but Phantoms are a close second. Praetorians are relatively easy by comparison. Geth are, by far, the easiest to fight, as they tend to be slow, easy to hit, and have no denial bubbles at all. Your arrows track well enough that they can usually hit even enemies that try to dodge(including bombers, making them easy mode), and your arrows tear up their tough armored units without any trouble at all.

This is my current setup.

Lol, sounds like the 20's I always wanted in university. So far very interesting. I've never been great at specing even going back to Diablo II. Still getting creds for Prem. Spectre packs, but the Talon Merc never shows up. Last pack gave me a human female adapt :/

I clearly do not have a grasp on this Character. Only level 15, but awkward.

Am I missing something with Cain Mines? Do the not detinate on their own? Brutes, mauraders, ravagers, etc all went across the beam - but no boom. Wha' Ha'pon?

Placing the beam is a PITA. What most people who use mines do instead, is fire them in volleys. You can only have a limited number of mines active at once (4?) so when you fire the 5th, the 1st explodes. Unlikely to be how Bioware intended them to be used, but that's the easiest way to do it.

You can have 3 mines active.. firing a 4th detonates the first one you laid down. This is how you nuke spawns with him. Spam 5-6 of them until everything is dead. Use Geth Scanner to tell if everything is dead or not. The rest of the time just run around and shoot your gun/bow and raid all the ammo boxes getting prepped up for your next nuke spree.

I think a "Mine Off" between engineers is needed: Volus vs Talon — Recon vs. Cain.

Thank you Argent, Hong abd MegaBeast!

Only simpletons spam Cain mines outside of an emergency situation (situation being, an overwhelmed LZ.) I find the talon fun simply because the char allows me to actually think about mine placements and plan ahead. Outside of banshees it's all ridiculously gratifying to successfully take down a group without wasting grenades. The character's durability is paper thin so it helps being on your toes to survive. This character and the paladin are my favorites as it's more fun to think than mindlessly chase after points.

06666 + Arc Pistol with Drill Rounds.

Charge the Arc Pistol, and release your shot simultaneously with your arrow. Basically it gives you a free aim bot , especially hilarious on-host. Concussive arrows for mooks , AP arrows for bosses. Use Geth Scanner + AM3.

Nope, it takes too much skill. If I wanna challenge myself I go with my Harrier AIU.
