Considering the concept of qunari with small horns, I think Bioware might want to show that qunari have different types of horns.Okay.....the voice, as I said before, not diggin' FPJ as the VA.
The 'smile' to me is more of a grimace he had to form to get that funky accent he's trying to pull off.
And the more I look at the IB, the less I really like his character look (I'll probably like his personality...which means for me he;d still be a romance option...RL i judge more on personality than looks). He's big bodied, with this TINY little head, and even worse, a TINY little face (okay with the lost eye and scar). And I don't like the Texas Longhorn horns he has (is he of the bovine species?....must be if I think about his name). I really prefer the Quanri horns from DA2.
(I.e. Quanri in DA2 had horns that looked more like a Pronghorn...keratin (hair) that has grown into horns formed around bony protusion. Now IB looks like his horns are like an Elk, a normal skull with bony growths that form from a circular area from the skull)

An interesting choice... and he's obviously really hyped to be doing it again.
I like how Bull's voice is pretty much unrecognisable as being his voice. It shows he can do a range of voices, which is always better than hearing someone do the same voice in everything they do!

Glad to see the reaction to Freddie doing the Iron Bull is generally positive, he did a great job as Vega.
I wonder if the reveal of Jessica Chobot voicing Sera will be as well received.

It looks a little odd to see Freddie Prince Jr voice the Iron Bull. His face doesn't match the personality or look of Iron Bull, and he has to grimace to capture the voice he wants to do. It sort of makes your mind think it's s bad voice impression or something. But, when we actually the see the animated Iron Bull with Freddie's voice acting, I think it'll seem more natural.

Voice actors doing grimaces is quite common. That's what allow to generate different voices. He is also holding his diaphragm, something opera singers do to hold certain notes.

Oh, please. Could we perhaps not start this in this thread, at least? ))
I didn't start anything bud, you did by replying to it. I'm still allowed to voice my opinion, especially since it's related to why I like Freddie as Vega so much and thus on-topic. It is your choice to start debating it - off-topic.
Just count to ten and then keep reading next time your mouse pointer lingers over the ''Post'' button. It's easy if you try.

It's funny how your opinion change so fast about someone just after seeing an interview and reading more about the guy. I always portrayed Freddie has the shallow actor that played only for dough and prestige ( Most movie I watched with him were teen movie and he played the good looking popular boyfriend ).
Than you learn more about the guy and you're like .. Wow.. This guy was the complete opposite of what I though ! Yes never judge someone too quick. Although I never gave it much though. He seem to enjoy doing voice acting in video game.

Typical actor with potential who got typecast. He was in some really awful movies though.

The thing is... I am trying to FORGET Mass Effect 3 EVER EXISTED.
And casting Freddie in this role, in addition to not being cavernous/badass/James Earl Jones-y enough, reminds me of ME3.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I had no idea how passionate he was about games. To hear him describe The Iron Bull, especially as a ronin warrior type, has definitely piqued my interest. Probably the most enjoyable VO interview yet!

I'm curious why it matters that he cares about games, specifically.
So long as he cares about the role, that's the most important part, right? Like, if I was completely indifferent about theatre as a medium, but absolutely adored and poured my heart into the character I was playing, that should be all that matters, yeah?

I dunno, I think it's just that there's something extra satisfying when game characters are voiced by fellow gamers. I'm trying to think of a good word to describe it...

No doubt. I wasn't criticizing. I'm actually pretty impressed. I was just describing the mental gymnastics my mind does on its own when watching him do the voice. I'm quite certain I will enjoy the voice acting while playing the game
