I have a question for everyone:

Is my laptop good enough to play Inquisition?

It's coming up on 3 years old..

I have a Nvidia GTX 560M 1.5GB
An i7 2670QM
4GBs of RAM

Is this enough?

It plays Crysis 2 on the highest setting with good FPS... I think it's the Extreme setting.
It plays Skyrim on Ultra, on good days lol
It plays Witcher 2 on the highest setting (without ubersampling checked)

It doesn't really matter if I can play it on the maximum setting, and I know that the requirements haven't been released yet.
I would only like to know what your opinion is: Is this enough to play it on low or medium? To play it at all?

Should be enough. DAI doesn't look much better than TW2 and Crysis 2 graphic wise.

Probably enough for medium to high settings, with a couple of effects lowered or turned off. Since it's a laptop, you'll be playing on a smaller screen than most so that's a plus. Nothing to worry about.

Too soon to know for sure. Check to see if you can run Battlefield 4 (uses the same engine).

You should be able to handle it in theory. You must factor in many more things when it comes to benchmarking. Do not forget to factor in the game's optimization as well as your laptop's heat management.

You should be able to play DAI with that spec.  Probably not at the most eye-bleedingly high settings, but more than enough to enjoy the game.

Yeah, that's what I thought: too soon. But I'll take your advice and look at 4 or Hardline

Yeah, I do have a cooling pad for whatever good it will do lol

Hahahah nice, all I want is to enjoy it!

What OS are you running on? If it's Win7 or 8 I recommend upgrading to 8gb of RAM.

I'm running Windows 7, but as I'm on a laptop, I'm stuck with 4. But my next PC (2 months after Inquisition) might include either 8GB or 16GB, is 8 enough or should I go for 16?

resolution?

My maximum resolution is 1600 x 900

8gb is definitely enough. But if you got plenty of spare budget, getting 16 won't hurt you at all!

for gaming 8GB is enough, but you cant have "too much" RAM.

My maximum resolution is 1600 x 900

and you can play crysis2 on extreme (whats the highest, extreme or ultra? cant remember) settings on this resolution with good fps??

anyways, your notebook should be strong enough for DA:I. question is on which settings and resolution^^

Yeah I can't remember if it's extreme or ultra, I just know it's the very last option (highest?) and the FPS is fine.

And good, I hope it's strong enough!

I would say no.

Why would you say that?

Your PC will be just fine playing the game at 1600x900, OP. Probably not maxed, but that's fine.

I believe there's an open beta for the BF hardline, you can give that a try. That BF4 engine should give you an idea of how the game will run on your PC.

If he's running a 32-bit Windows, upgrading to 8GB isn't going to help much really. But ofcourse PC-gamers still running a 32 OS and/or using Windows XP are extinct, aren't they?
And knowing Battlefield 4 doesn't work with anything lower than Windows Vista the question of which OS doesn't really matter. I don't think Bioware's still going to support 'good old XP' (I hope).

Just a question: You DO mean Crysis 2 in DirectX 9 mode right? Because your system would probably be struggling in DirectX 11 mode.

The only system requirement listed on the Origin store is Windows 7 or higher.

Probably incomplete, since it should work on Vista as well, because of the DX10-11 requirement.

No...  No we're not.  ;)  lol

Some of us don't really care about having the most up-to-date machine, and will only really upgrade when we need to.  And computers can last for quite a while, despite what you may believe.  :P

Of course, I don't exactly use my 32bit laptop with XP to play games.  My 32bit Win7 is a different story though.  :P

Anyway, on topic - we really don't know yet.  As was stated before, people are going by Battlefield 4 as a benchmark, but it's all speculation until an announcement is made.  :\

I just realized I bought my Qosmio x505 laptop in 2010!!

*gah!*

Hmm....

Still, it should be able to handle DA:I....

Thanks for the comment about BF4. Since I'm clueless about that title, is there a Demo that can get downloaded to try?

You can still game with 4 GB RAM believe it or not. Applications still aren't that heavy to require that much system memory. As I always say to people, worry about your graphics card and your PSU more if you game.

Agreed. Due to lack of knowledge, people are either too quick to upgrade with unnecessary parts or don't own a PC and like to think it's still the early 2000s where everything costs 2000$(the number of youtube comments like that from console users I've seen recently, sigh...) and needs a monthly upgrade.

Battlefield: Hardline open beta. Try it out.

I think the highest spec requirement game would be GTA 5 , to bad they dont want to release it for PC...would be easy to compare if u can run GTA5 on medium then u can run anything :D

download the hardline beta on origin and see if that runs.
