Well, my E3 2014 evaluation of DA:I was that it was at least decent. I wasn't particularly impressed by anything, but there were certainly things I liked in the demo. Except that and AC 3(the visuals and movement mechanics impressed me, but not so much), every other game was really uninteresting, including Witcher 3.

My evaluation so far though. I think it's going to turn out to be a good game, at the very least better than DA 2. Whether it will be a game to remember like Origins, that we will see. Story and characters have always been two strong elements in DA:O so I'm just a little skeptical about those two elements since Bioware is focusing on a lot of other things in the game.

Dragon Age Inqusition looks pretty good from what we've seen, and my biggest gripe so far is the companions appearing to not having mounts. The combat seems to have been improved in both fronts. The world looks pretty, The characters all look good and sound interesting. I like the idea of forming your own faction rather than joining an already established one.

But I'm still cautious of all the "open-worldness", multiple endings, managing the Inquisition, etc. You can say those things and they can be technically true, but if it is a hollow world to explore with choices that do not matter what is the point?

Dragon Age Inquisition certainly has the ingredients to be as good as Origins and possibly better, but it requires BioWare to actually deliver on its hyped features which they failed to do in Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 imo. It already looks like it will be better than Dragon Age 2 from top to bottom. There still isn't enough information to convince me to believe BioWare has gotten its mojo back, but I'm rooting for them and I'm really excited for Dragon Age Inquisition.

Game looks great , few issues with melee classes in combat tho , I didnt like what I saw there.

Now there is only 2 things until its guaranteed buy for me :)

1. How they make the KEEP , or if it ends up as fail.

2. System requirements , ya my pc couple years old..if I cant play at least on medium , then its not worth my time. Considering A LOT games coming in October. And cant buy them all.

I'm very positive about DAI, although I'd like the combat to be less flashy.

No party conversation while the inquisitor was on the horse, agree major turn off.

My anticipation level is high.

To put things in perspective, I'm not someone that was deeply disappointed in DA2 and is going into DAI saying 'Win me back, Bioware."  I'm someone that thinks DAO and BG2 are two of my favorite games of all time and that DA2 was an uneven total package that nonetheless had cool characters and that I was glad to have played.  So given that I still got enjoyment out of a game as polarizing as DA2, it should be obvious that I would be enthusiastic about DAI.

Add to that that I'm kind of easy when it comes to different kinds of RPG's.  I don't just like turn-based, isometric RPG's.  I don't just like narrative RPG's.  I don't just like open-world RPG's.  I like 'em all.  RPG's like Baldur's Gate.  RPG's like Elder Scrolls.  RPG's like Mass Effect.  Even Diablo.  (!)  So trying to combine open-world gameplay with "Bioware narrative" strikes me as very interesting.  (I'm sure it can work because a lot of what I liked about open-world games can be found in Baldur's Gate games and older JRPG's.)

The fact that Cameron Lee keeps pointing out that the Inquisition is what connects the open-world gameplay to the narrative tells me that they're conscious of the challenges of combining the two kinds of RPG's and are confident in the approach they've taken.

I'm also happy with the visuals and greater environmental detail.

(Although I avoided most E3 videos out of spoiler fear)..

I agree about the missing companion conversations while on a mount. I love mounts, but I love banter. (/conflicted) I almost want my mount to have a wagon-type-thing attached to it for my companions to sit in. xD (Best example I can think of is in the opening of Skyrim (the wagon you start in with the other prisoners)E

Edit: A carriage. It's called a carriage. *couldn't think of the word*

But other than that I have seen nothing I don't like. I loved both of the Dragon Age games and I am positive I will love this one. I just need to know the specs for PC and I will be pre-ordering!

And I am really excited for the companion interactions. Story and characters are my favorite part of DA, and this time it seems it will be less approval system but more based on your beliefs and how you choose to act on them Ungh I am so excited.

I wish it was October already. <<

Almost nonexistant, since all they showed was pre-scripted gameplay from the alpha-build of the game.

I'd feel more confident if it was actually footage from the final-build of the PS4/XBone version.

Hell, it would be nice if we actually saw what the PS3/X360 version looked like.

I saw the gameplay footage before it was restricted; looked great to me. So while many may have missed it, Bioware was showing it off.

Uh.. No?

Blair was actually playing live in the E3 demo (Behind closed doors). I actually thought the same as you, but in the Dwarfquisitor Leak, you can actually hear him talking briefly, and is called "Demo Driver" .

I'm not sure what your cutoff is for "Pre-Scripted" though, Do you mean like the Ubisoft AC:U demo where they only pretended like real people were playing, but was actually pre-recorded? Or do you consider anything built and played for Demo purposes "Pre-Scripted" even if the events in the demo is all live gameplay, complete with human error.

After E3 I really hope they still have one or two big reveals on hold, because nothing up till now has grabbed me.

My only concerns at this point are combat related. It looks like hitboxes are a little odd still and companions will spend consecutive seconds during an encounter positioning themselves. I really hope that gets cleaned up a bit. If that is an issue with their tactics (for example they always try and flank an opponent) hopefully we can modify that some.

If, perchance, I said that I hated every single aspect of it, including all the voices and concept...  think they'd send me a pre-beta copy to convince me to change my mind by seeing how awesome things are first hand?

No?  Didn't think so.  Oh, alright!  I'm more excited than ever and can't wait to get my hands on it, for real!  LOL

...can't blame a girl for trying. ;)   :D

(to reiterate before someone doesn't bother reading the tongue-in-cheek aspect of this...I'm KIDDING!  I love it! :P )

I did notice Iron Bull running around like a headless chicken trying to find something on the dragon to hit...the dragon standing right next to him.

I am more excited about it then I was before, the game looks pretty solid all things considered and looks like something that is going to be a lot of fun to play.  SUper fun to play really.  And it is mind boggingly to me how much information they have revealed so far, and how much information has yet to be revealed.  I just hope they do not spoil things too much but you still have a lot of information on character stuff which can be shown, the interviews that they have done for Cass et all and the voice interview vids they have done for Varric and the Iron Bull, and I would love to see some gameplay on their Strategy elements.  But other then that, pretty good.

I have two concerns:
1. Combat looks an awful lot like DA2 combat. Flashy and hectic and full of backflips and just widdling away at the enemy's hp bar. I'm glad to see the waves of enemies are gone though.
2. There's a lot of wandering around in the demo. Too much transportation with nothing happening gets boring. The world may be too open for my taste.

Except for that I'm very excited.

That I know very little about the game compared to other games released in the same window and that those games were running on the systems they were intended for and not on PC hardware.

My biggest concern is while on the outside everything looks ok, behind the scenes its like a Swan under water.

Overall I am looking forward to the release of Dragon Age Inquisition after seeing it at E3 2014.

The good stuff I noticed:

  • I like the art style and graphics look beautiful
  • The combination of story based NPCs and a dynamic world NPC mechanic, which fills the world with animals, bandits, and merchants, sounds awesome
  • The deep crafting mechanics sound really great, especially with regards to how it affects the look of your gear
  • The Keep and how it manages the Inquisition, and how you in can specialize your Inquisition
  • Combat seems like a good combination of tactical approach and action focus
  • I like how they describe the new types of dialogue (different wheels etc.)
  • I applaud that Bioware had a trailer with voice acting by the female inquisitor. It is a step in the right direction in an area where companies still focus too heavily on male protagonists in games (and I say that as a male IRL)
  • Dragon Age Keep launching before the game itself (yes, I am one of those people who will be spending insane amount of hours playing with that tool)

The not so good stuff I noticed:

  • The fact that real time progress in the game while in tactical camera requires you to continuously hold a button, this basically eliminates the possibility for play the entire game in this view (who really wants to play a 100+ hour game pressing e.g. space the entire time).
  • It may only be timed exclusive content for the Xbox and only a single DLC, but I perceive it as an inconvience for me as a consumer and cannot support such actions. Yes, it doesn't matter in the end, but exclusivity in any form is bad for the consumer in my opinion
  • I think it is unfortunate they still wont talk about multiplayer and whether it is part of the game or not, and if it is, how it may or may not be connected to the single player campaign. I think this matters to a lot of people, and if made like a DA clone of ME3 MP it could be a huge selling point
  • I am concerned about several game mechanics, which Bioware tend to hint at during interviews but never explain in detail. I would prefer more game mechanic information than I would romance options
  • A concern I have is how Bioware will maintain a good narrative while offering a huge open world experience (I know of no other single player game having done this)

Off topic: Best game I saw videos of during E3 2014 was Alien Isolation. Until I heard this was a PS title only, I was seriously considering Xbox One, but now... uh, I want to play that game so bad. Saw a video of one playing it using Occulus Rift and she was scared out of her mind, just my kind of game  :P

Almost everything that I saw looks very optimistic. Graphics is gorgeous and combat is tactical. We still don't know a lot about inquisition itself and dialogue system.

Yet I'm disappointed that every female character is shorthaired again. I was hoping that next generation consoles will improve this particular aspect of the game. I am also a bit worried if combat skills are not too colorful and flashy. I don't want to engage in "rainbow battles".

I would gladly pre order the game if not this ridiculous lack of translated subtitles for PS 4 in my country :( .

^this is a major concern of mine as well.
I don't like open-world games like skyrim, and oblivion, they are boring to me. I really don't want this 'open world' concept to affect the narrative. I want to be optimistic, but with the timeframe and so many failed attempts by other companies, well...I won't hold my breath.
