I have to wonder, though...Is Morrigan really a human? If she is Flemeths biological daughter (which I tend to believe), then she would be...at least half of whatever Flemeth is? All I know is that golden is not an eye color associated with humans. Theories, but could explain why she can use the Eluvian without any apparent ill effects.

The only other humans or elves in DAO with that distinctly odd eye color were the former werewolves and Deygan.  I noticed that on my recent Morrigan, Sten and Zev run.  Bringing her along throughout the game her eye color does stand out as being unique.

Edit:  with the recovered werewolves, only the males had that eye color.  The females had dark eyes.

Although Alistair comments that she looked chasind, and we didn't really see enough of them to see if that eye color might be more common among them.

I got the impression that Flemeth made sure to have Morrigan able to find the warden in time for the archdemon's death.  Morrigan may never have been in danger of Flemeth's possession at all, since Yevanna was already prepared for the role of host already..

If Yavana lived for over three hundred years, that might not be the case. If Batman is right about Flemeth putting a portion of her soul into her "daughters", it could explain the ritual that Morrigan was concerned about, since Yavana never disputes that something would have transpired; she merely tells King Alistair that it is a "gift" (which, as Mr. Wayne pointed out, is the same thing Abomination Uldred says about possession).

I think all of Flemeth's daughters are born physically human, with some notable exceptions like the eye color as well as powerful magic abilities. Whatever "changes" them, I believe, is the ritual in which Flemeth does whatever it is that she does. That being said, I think Morrigan was able to activate an eluvian/travel without ill effect due to her studies after she left the Warden's party. Or she could very well suffer ill effects from the eluvian, and we just don't see it occur in game.

That's a good idea.  I didn't catch where Yavana's age was mentioned.  I thought she was just an older half-sister.  It ties in nicely with Hawke's errand, too.  Lots of cool implications to amuse myself with while I'm on vacation.  Thanks!

Perhaps what Flemeth did also makes the Witches all immortal. That of course begs the question of what the hell is Flemeth anyways.

Well, Yavana's age is not technically mentioned, but she is the Antivan Witch of the Wilds. Where we get the implication of her age is the story of Xenon from the Black Emporium, who was cursed 300 years ago by an "Antivan Witch of the Weyrs".

A very old woman, I've expected the least of her "titles" to be  the most true.

Don't know why I hadn't join these forums when the first DA:O released. I personally love Morrigan as a character. She is one of the most complex and interesting characters in a video game I've seen. I often thought people who just jumped on the hate Morrigan train simply misunderstood her. Some like her, some don't but for me she will always be an amazing and deep character.

what was the gift?

I suspect the gift was a way to get rid of the taint or till extend your life as a Warden. But it is never confirmed on what the gift really was.

That's all well and good, but we need to have a talk about your creepy relationship with a young boy who is essentially your adopted son.

Nah that was the 60's in an alternate dimension. These days I'm cited as an irresponsible parent for putting my children in danger. I also have a tumultuous love life with a thief that dresses like a cat and a femme fatal who's 600 year old father wants me to succeed him in dominating the planet. Then there's the childhood trauma I can't let go of despite years of self therapy which consists of beating random street thugs into a pulp. Oh and I push everyone that's close to me away.

Welcome to the BSN!

It's probably for the best that you are a newcomer to the forums. They've been cleaned up quite a bit and, despite the occasional arguments here or there, I think the community has improved over 2-3 years ago during the whole ME 3 DA 2 brewha.

We never actually saw her travelling the paths of the Eluvian. As far as we know, she's has affected as any other human in there.

The discomfort experienced doesn't leave any lasting maladies that one would notice.

And there is the key to all things Morrigan. Somehow whenever I think of Flemeth, this quote from Sovereign comes to mind: "There is a realm of existence so far beyond your own you cannot even imagine it. I am beyond your comprehension."

....Now it all makes sense! The reapers are coming! :P

The fact that she claim to have called the dragons to the Hall of the Sleepers is more of an indication of her ages. It needs to have happened before 6:15 (that's when dragons were decided to be extinct).

So who here believes morrigan is still following the plans of her mother, and who believes she not?
