Only if you don't romance her. She's the sweetest of all possible romances in DAO.

Even if you don't romance her, you can become great friends with Morrigan, at least as a female. She considers The Warden her sister and shows a lot of emotion and care in her voice as well as Witch Hunt. Morrigan is my favorite DA:O Companion and honestly, when it comes to import flags I would love more than anything (More than having the bugged Zevran romance glitch fix , included) that my Warden having that sisterly bond with Morrigan was involved in DAI or mentioned. It's so well done.

Eh? You can't follow Morrigan into the Eluvian if you stab her. I'm confused

I like things about Morrigan, but I hate characters that present their philosophies as absolute truths and won't allow others to have their own beliefs without belittling them.  It is perhaps even more grating to me coming from Morrigan when she herself admits to having very limited contact with the society that she's so quick to  critique.

It's similar to why I don't really care for Sten in Origins or pretty much any qunari in DA2.

My Warden decided to trust her as a friend, (which, I'll add, the female Warden/Morrigan friendship arc was pretty great.) but I don't think my Inquisitor is going to follow suit with that.

If she ends up dead in my playthrough, I'm sorry Morrigan fans. >.>

I'm thinking she'll join the Inquisition at some point, at least that would explain her being next to Cullen and the Inquisitor in the E3 trailer.

It's your playthrough, do whatever you like. It seems pretty harsh, though, to kill her just because you don't like her personality.

I guess I could see doing it if her agenda is fundamentally opposed to what you are trying to do as the Inquisitor. But at this stage in the game, we don't even know what her agenda is.

@Phoe77: That's a fair point. Hopefully her character will have evolved, though. It's been 10 years. That's a long time ... And having a child (if you gave her that option) would go a long way towards softening her, in my opinion.

When did I ever say it had anything to do with her personality?

Apologies for making an assumption. It just seemed like that's what you were basing your decision on. What motivation would you have for killing her, then, if it isn't her personality? You don't even know what her goals are at this point.

Mostly, she just seems like way too much of a loose cannon to me. Way too many cryptic words, a completely unknown agenda, and the way I'll be playing my Inquisitor, she won't be about to help her with that. If Morrigan happens to get in the way with whatever she wants to do and once again isn't going to let our character in on the consequences of it, well...friend of the Warden or not, I'm not helping her. And if she opposes the Inquisitor for it, I'm going to have to kill her.

You're right though, we don't know. We'll see. But for now, while I like her character, I trust her about as much as I trust Flemeth.

I personally think she is one of the most powerful individuals in entire Thedas at this point. Flemeth's grimoire, OGB, and Celene next to her..

She's holding so many cards now it's almost impossible to find this character uninteresting. I'm really excited see her in DA:I.

Clem, no! Morrigan isn't as a wildcard as her mother. She can be good.

That doesn't restrict her from being a Wildcard, though...

Sera is a wildcard too (they even describe her as such in the trailer). Does that mean you are going to kill her as well?

I intend to play as a glorious Example for the Risks that a fanatic Qunari can pose upon those around him. Yeah, I'll probably kill a lot of People...

BUT I won't want to kill morrigan because she is a Wildcard, but because she is a social Darwinist, appears to be a bad Person (to those not *very* close with her, at least) and a very dangerous Witch. And because the Qun most definitely will demand it.

How is it that I never came across this party banter gem in Origins (5:35 mark):

I don't think the Inquisitor should trust Morrigan at first.  It's no different from the Warden really.  My Warden surely didn't trust Morrigan off the bat but that changed...kind of, she still doesn't fully trust Morrigan but trusted her enough lets say.

If your Inquisitor is Dalish that could further complicate things with Morrigan at first.  The Dalish Inquisitor could be aware that Morrigan stole a book from one of the other clans (or that could even be the Dalish Inquisitor's clan since Ariane's clan is Ferelden based).

It doesn't seem Morrigan is being set up to oppose the Inquisition from what we know right now.  She's seen in the trailer with Cullen and the Inquisitor (I think) so I'm guessing she'll be helping out in some capacity.

A lot of Morrigan's content was cut out of vanilla Origins, this was probably one of them. There's a mod (MRP: Morrigan Restored Patch) adding the cut content back into the game. When I played the game that conversation triggered the first time I had Sten and Morrigan in a party. Loved it as Morrigan for the first time had no witty reply.

If you believe that temptation lies in the forbidden, and then forbid being followed, doesn't that mean you're actually tempting someone to follow?  Seems to sum up her character quite nicely.  She always seemed afraid of what she really wanted.  Makes sense of her social darwinist beliefs too.  Place the world beneath you and their rejections can't hurt you.

She was probably my least romanced character.  I found it very hard to accept her caustic attitude and get close.  I don't even really remember what her romance path is like, makes me feel like going back and giving it another shot.

However little I liked her personally, I always respected her.  I'll be very interested to see her growth since DA:O.  Especially her growth if she became a mother.

I didn't interpret her this way. To me she was just extremely cynical and she never felt above others she just belittled others when it came to trust and believing. To her the whole world is wicked, society is wicked. I don't know if the whole social Darwinism is something the devs said themselves or just the majority of players interpreted it that way.

But she's more humane this time around and she doesn't want the world to end I suspect. i'm guessing she just has a different agenda than what most people have, yeah I guess she is a wildcard but not a bad one.

I like Morrigan a lot.  She's quite a mystery and struggles against her feelings for the Warden in a way that's different to the usual headlong rush into actual romance.  She says what she thinks and isn't always that nice a person, but she's loyal to her Warden.  Well, if you're nice to her, anyway ;)

Plus, Claudia Black. No more need be said.
