Son of a gun! I just now realized that in the scene she's not just apologizing for her prickly personality, she's thinking about the dark ritual! (Yeah...I was a bit slow on that one, wasn't I? xD)

Especially painful if your warden was in a relationship with Alistair  :/

It's going to be so awkward if my warden ever meets the old god baby. His (?) mother was like-a-sister. Does that make him a like-a-nephew? And stepson...

What a wonderfully dysfunctional family.

Considering how she and Alistair got along, I wonder what she tells her son about his father?

Even if they say that blood is thicker than water, family friends can become more family than the biological one. I support Auntie Warden.

As for what she might tell her son about Alistair if he's the father, well, I guess as much as Flemeth told her about hers. "Mommy had sex with a stupid random male Warden to save her only best friend. Then you were born. The end."

It just ocurred to me that Morrigan as probably laughing at us.
Rember this exchange from WH?
"Where does the Eluvian lead?
To a place beyond this world and the Fade."

Só, now we know she meant the paths created by the ancient elves. Nice way of dodging the question. That's the equivalent of saying "Where does this road lead? To the highway."

She probably learnt a lot from Flemeth. Why say anything clearly and easily when you can make your listener wonder for years about your riddles? :P

Do you think Morrigan is really Flemeths kid or do you think she was stolen as a child?

IMO... stolen. The Chasind tall tales had to have come from somewhere. Meaning any woman that was a mageling at some point could have been Flemeth's daughter. Vivienne is Flemeth! Confirmed.  :o

I'd say it doesn't matter either way, because we probably won't be learning the truth from Flemeth.

A whole vault of secrets, that one.

Yeah, I'm not really seeing any reason why that matters as well unless we are later given a reason for why it would matter.  Though truth be told, I do think Morrigan is Flemeth's daughter by blood due to the odd eye color they share.

Yavana also called Morrigan sister and Flemeth mother, so I think they are all related. Flemeth could always use magic to assist in the birthing process. We still don't know the details of Flemeth's ritual. Yavana called it a "gift".

I second your comment.

That fan art though... just... wow!

I too have always thought Morrigan is Flemeth's daughter, just the vibes I got from exhausting almost all the conversation options and the eye color too!

People have probably already mentioned it... But I hope if your Warden romanced her and went with her into the Eluvian at the end of WH that she will make some note of it. I'd like for her to show up with the Warden but since we still don't know if they will be in the game I'm not holding out too much hope.

Edited for silly autocorrect haha

Same here, I sincerely hope they acknowledge the efforts I and others put in to romancing Morrigan in DA:O and WH. Though from what I've seen and read so far, the Warden will probably only be mentioned ever so briefly in text or in conversation but definitely no cameo appearance *le sigh*

All I know is I better hear a comment from Leliana about Morrigan's wardrobe. But in  typical Morrigan fashion she does not recall their conversation. Though Leliana insists that they had this talk. And once Leliana gets frustrated and leaves she will Smirk to herself.

I am wondering what role Morrigan will have in the Inquisition. It was said in the Q&A that her relationship with the Inquisition will be tenuous. It has been shown in the trailers she is working alongside the Inquisition. I am thinking she will not be an actual member, but more of a reluctant team player. I also wonder if she has the OGB, how that could change her role.

We all wonder the same, don't we? I'm sure it will be interesting. Also, I would like her to keep her independence. Being a member of the Inquisition would mean having to follow the Inquisitor's orders. I'd hate that. I also think she may be ally or enemy depending on our decisions.

If there is no child then I think Morrigan is just helping for the same reason as other people, big hole in the sky spells bad news and she also wants to know more about this new power that has arisen and how it will affect her.

However, if she has a child, particularly the old god child, her motivation could be to protect him.    I can't see the Elder One tolerating any other deity on the block and I wouldn't be surprise if he sends his followers to try and kill or capture him.    That could even result in a side quest to protect the child.     If you agreed to help then you would get Morrigan on your side and have a powerful and deadly ally; there's nothing fiercer than a mother protecting her young.

Well, she certainly knows a CHANGE is coming, and she wants to PREPARE the OGB.

The question is, did she mean the Breach? Was she preparing herself and the child to survive the Breach, or did she mean something else entirely?

I'd say she'll be with us. Because demons = bad.

She also sounds VERY aggressive if you choose her to go into the Fade during The Arl of Redcliffe. This further supports the theory already voiced - she will help because there's a huge hole in the skies. She doesn't seem to like demons.

I think that Morrigan is Flemeth's biological daughter, and was conceived and raised to be at her peak of power at a time when Flemeth thought she would be useful.  I'm not sure how Morrigan's own free will change her actions from what her mother originally intended, though.  I think that fighting the blight and in some cases, motherhood, may have changed her outlook, but she's still got her individuality.  Whether this is a trait Flemeth intended is anyone's guess.  Anyone go with the chaos theory?

I predict Morrigan will every now and then join the Inquisitor & party members to assist in a certain area/quest, provide dialogue and be the Morrigan we all love. When the area is clear or the quest is complete, she will leave until we meet her again... which sucks because I wanted her as my permanent party member because not only is she Morrigan   but her mage abilities and banter would have been appreciated and come in handy.

I have always thought the same regarding Morrigan being Flemeth's biological daughter and their shared eye color... dead giveaway imo. I'd like to think romancing the Warden in DA:O, the OGB and having the Warden walk through the Eluvian with her in WH has made her take a step back and changed her outlook on things but at the same time I still see her valuing her child, individuality, power and survival of the fittest philosophy no matter what.

Hi guys! Sorry to interrupt your discussion. Haven't posted in the foruns for a long time. :/
I for one am quite excited to see Morrigan in DAI, not only because shes one of my fave characters (and I want to see how her story unfolds) but also because I'm curious to see how her new look will translate in game as I wish to cosplay as her.
This is the first time I'm excited to cosplay, perhaps because I've never found a character that looked somewhat like myself (moles and everything) before.

BTW, I also believe Flemeth is Morrigans biological mother. Also, my real curiosity is about who is Morrigans father. I've read some theories about it, but they all seem unlikely.

Heyo! *waves*

Cosplays are so fun especially when the resemblances to the character are so alike + Morrigan is amazing  so kudos to you and anyone who cosplay as her.

As for Morrigan's father, it's pretty unclear as to who he is and I doubt we will ever know his true identity. It is written in Flemeth's codex entry in DA:O that she was for hundreds of years "... stealing men from the Chasind to sire monstrous daughters: Horrific things that could kill a man with fear.

Now we all know Morrigan is beautiful and the opposite of monstrous (she is many things but I'd never classify her as monstrous) and in the end it's implied Morrigan's father was likely of Chasind origin. I personally am content with this and agree that the signs point to this being so.

Everything we need for a severely strange plot twist now, is to find out Morrigan is Alistair's half-sister.
