Lets cut to the chase...
Dragon Age Inquisition imports past data to use for the storyline.
Previous Dragon Age Games were primarily on Xbox360.
Dragon Age Inquisition will be better/have better graphical resolution if played on Xbox One.
There will be a quicky story input thing online to recreate past Dragon Age data.
Is it better (more thurough), if you have past data (and or cant remember), to import old data than it would be to use the recreation tool?
ie) Will more details be imported?
How does this work for those who have old saved Dragon Age data on Xbox 360, but are looking to upgrade to Xbox One for better graphics?
ie) Will we have to do a flash drive transfer?
We need clarification on saved data useage and transfering... !

I wish they would give us more info, or make another blog post about it or something so this doesn't get asked every week.

You've must've been out of the loop for quite a while... there will be no importing of DA:O or DA2 saves. We'll all have to use the Dragon Age Keep.

No, they weren't.
Like others have said in this thread, you create a world state with the Dragon Age Keep, which saves that created state files in the cloud. You can then import it into Dragon Age Inquisition. There is no direct save importing.

I don't know about your guys but I'm sick of people beating the dead horse that is this question. Apparently BW somehow isn't doing enough to promote the Keep if people still don't know about it.

Well, a part of this is just thinking... I mean, it's a completely new engine. I imagine it'd be incredibly difficult to transfer across engines.
With that said, yeah, BW could do some clarification just to make sure everyone is on the same page. BW should just create a thread that says "Save transfers are no more. Keep is the new deal," and bingo, problem solved.

Have they actually confirmed they'll be no imports? last I heard they were looking into it, but the keep comes first.

The Keep will be the only method of building your custom history from previous games.

who's this we you speak of?
It will al go via the DA Keep i think, so no save imports in the game itself i believe

Keep only because there are a lot of flagging bugs from the first game that would cause some decisions to never make it to Inquisition.

Honestly I don't think it will allow for save file transfer, and personally I would advice against it. In both Mass Effect series and Dragon Age from Origins to DA2, I have spend countless hours in an editor to try and fix save game flags on decision that are either exported or imported with errors.
A complete new recreation of a world state is much preferred in my opinion. Only potential problem is e.g. if I can't remember what I chose in a given situation, but I take it that's why Bioware includes a story telling in the Keep system. I actually see this system as a fantastic innovation within the genre, where I don't have to focus on keeping a hold on my own saves etc., and hopefully the Mass effect team will take a look at it for their next trilogy.

Although, to be fair, if you can't remember what your character did, does it really matter all that much which option gets loaded into DA:I?

I completely agree, it was just the only disadvantage I can think of (not much of one, if you ask me either)

They were looking into the possibility of you automatically populating your Keep state using a save import. But you'd still have to answer some questions, because the save files don't track every detail.Have they actually confirmed they'll be no imports? last I heard they were looking into it, but the keep comes first.
Buy no matter what, if you want to import a world state, you have to use the Keep to do it.

Well, I think there are other disadvantages.
For instance, many people don't even know about The Keep yet. If they buy the game expecting to import their choices just like they had in the past, not knowing they have to go to a website and fill out all sorts of decisions, they may feel frustrated before they even start the game. In addition, there are gamers who don't want to (or who can't) hook up to the Internet at will. This may be hassle for them and, again, if they aren't aware of the requirement they may get frustrated or even punished with having to use the "default." Lastly, there is the long-term concern of what happens when X amount to years down the road, if the servers are turned off, will Bioware provide some type of app or other means to generate a file, so that the game could be replayed.
Ultimately, it comes down to more and better communication from Bioware about the Keep. I have serious doubts that they have reached the penetration levels required to even come close to your average gamer even knowing the Keep exists for the game, let alone how it is used.

When i first bought DA2 i had to take the comp to my aunts to register the game in order to play the thing lol, was sooo disillusioned with the internet i got everything cut of an removed lol, totally forgot about having to register an activate games so here i am back with internet /sigh
Really sad how everything a company does to try an tackle piracy hurts legitimate users instead, but guess thats the thing
