My damage--not my crit damage, but my BASE damage, went from 60 something to 174.3 with Voice of Velvet, a shield with the Legion of the Dead heraldry for the 20 extra points per stat, three stacked Songs of Courage, and I was like, "What?"

I didn't even know my rogue could equip a shield until I tried it on a whim to get a temporary stat boost to equip some better armor without spending points in strength on a respec, and was about to re-equip the Rose's Thorn in my off-hand when I toggled over to look at my damage stat on a whim.

Base dex is 52, and base Cunning is 111 (imported my Origins warden with non-transferring equipment on), and with gear (including the shield for +20 across the board), they are 98 and 156, respectively.

About to actually try it out in combat. I'll post with an update, but has anyone else tried this?

Update: Doing in the upper 400s fairly regularly, with occasional hits of over 500. I didn't think this was possible? Crit rate is a little over 70% with buffs.

Wait, Sustained Auras stack with themselves?

I can stack multiple instances of Rally, Haste, Bard Songs?

@Pateu-yes you stack multiple buffs-at least with some.

Legion of the Dead is a known bug on console. It was fixed on PC though. There are bugs on top of the bugs in Awakening.

I'm guessing you have the runes that add 5% to critical and 20% to damage to get to 70% critical. You can have up to 6 of those runes if you dual wield.

There's a stickied thread in Classes and Builds on how to get to 100% critical with all 3 classes. My mage with Veshialle and Roses Thorn was able to get to 50% in Origins with 2 rogues-Song of Courage, Shale's Stone Aura, and 3 items equipped-Shadow Belt, Katriel's Grasp, and the boots from Shale's special quest. That mage had 47 STR though.

Haven't had coffee yet, so I hope this makes sense. Also, I'm most likely going to go back to dual-weieding, even though it gives me less damage, simply because it feels "right" for my character. (I mean, come on; he's a rogue.)

@Pateu, I don't know about Rally and haste, but Bard songs, yup. I'm playing on 360, so I don't know if that works on the PC, but I imagine it does.

@Mike3207, Nope. No Intensify runes. BUT, I had some stuff equipped that doesn't import when I imported my warden, to take advantage of the bug that makes the bonuses permanent even though the equipment doesn't transfer. I'll have to go back and look at exactly what items had what bonuses, but off the top of my head, Starfang and Dead Thaig Shanker (which I have heard is supposed to import, but apparently does not--at least on console--if you have it equipped at the time). And of course, VoV contributes.

Also had shadow form on, which I believe gives me a bonus to crit rate? (Obviously I couldn't use any of my dual-wield skills.) Then there are the bonuses from equipment, of course, but yeah, most of the boost from the 30s to the 70s seems to be from buffs. I have Anders doing his "reduce fatigue cost" thing (which helps everyone maintain multiple effects at once), and my character, Sigrun, and Nathaniel all doing Song of Courage. I gave both of them just enough Dex (52) to get all their archer skills, then pumped everything else into Cunning, since Song of Courage's effectiveness is based on Cunning.

I'll look at my origins save and see what I had equipped, then at my rogue as he currently is, so I can be more accurate with it. (Might take pics of the screen to avoid having to type it all out.)

Anyway, it was basically just a case of, "Hey, what happens if I do... THIS?" And then me looking at the screen like whoa, I've created a monster.

And even though I plan to finish by dual-wielding, now I'm curious to see just how far I can push it while still keeping the other characters viable. (I mean, obviously I could pump up the crit rate and damage even higher if I were to forgo everything but Cunning for my other two rogues, but that would make them nearly useless except for buffs, and if would be a little boring if most fights I could end by doing flicker once.)

Well, there are some pretty heft stat increases in Awakening if you decide to go back to Dual wield.I think there's a rogue set that adds +11 to dex and cun, 2 different armor chestpieces that add +8 to Str, a pair of gauntlets that adds +8 to STR, and then you have the runes that can add up to +14 for Willpower and Constitution. Also, Vigilance can be structured to add +4 to all stats. Most characters are only going to want to increase one or two stats anyway.
