I am having an issue with all the female hairs at http://mods.girlplaysgame.com/?cat=59. I load them like I do anyone elses and all I get when I load the game is a bald head. I use ME3explorer to put these into the game and I have never had an issue with anyone else's hairs. Just these. I have tried to get help from the site and get no response. If someone could help me it would be great.

From what I can see these are .PCC mods, did you dump them in your gamefolder and update the TOC, is that what you mean with having used ME3Explorer for putting these into the game?
PCC is a suboptimal and outdated release format for mesh/texture mods. I wouldn't be surprised if the problem was a lost texture ref through it being a PCC release.
If you did do a PCC 'install' I'd highly advise you choose to go the manual installation route instead.

I dumped the .pcc in the cookedpcconsole, scanned with tocbin.>ran tpf tools for texture. This works with every other hair I have used.
Not familiar with doing the hair manually. Is there a tutorial for it somewhere?

Hmm. TPF tools gave no error and you did change all approrpiate values for botht he mesh and the textures in gibbed?
And GPG has instructions for manual replacement of the mesh using the UPK.

GPG? And yes I changed everything according to the directions in gibbed.
Edit: Figured it out. Thanks so much Otte. Can always count on you for help. ![]()
Edit: Only problem is that the textures are screwed up. Meaning they look choppy and if i try to put texture in I get the bald head again. ![]()

I was using the Mila hair recently. The best way i found to install them is to use the 'How to convert and individually install ME3 mods in PCC format' guide to change formats from .pcc to .mod. Use with Texmod. For the GPG mods do not install with TPF/DDS Tools as they never seem to work correctly (from my experience).

Thanks but I am starting to think this is more work than it is worth. And your experience is right because if I try to use tpf/dds tools she loses her hair. Her site is the only one I have trouble with. *head desk*

Bad mod formatting. Blergh. I know I shouldn't complain but troubleshooting issues across the board it gets on my ****** more than it should.
Especially because half the comments on her site are filled with people saying they're going back to REV 622 through installation issues. Toolset support hell. ![]()

Just a general note: Most hairmods run into issues permanently applying custom textures because most ingame hair textures are DXT1's with 1bit alpha rather than being DXT5 with interpolated. Best solution is to use existing ingame textures and rewrap the hair but almost nobody does this. Also, because most people don't mind the loss of the alpha when switching to DXT1, transparency in the alpha is effectively lost and the hair disappears as no alpha = black alpha = fully transparent.
There are hair textures ingame that are DXT5, but I'd have to check which, don't know top of head as it's been a while since I looked at it.
