Vivienne all the way from start to finish Mage Power

Well I am going to roll as a 2h warrior (human or dwarf havn't decided yet)  So I will need a rogue (Varric) and a mage (Vivienne) in my party.

She looks so utterly bored of everything all the time. Even in action shots.

Just one from just those 3? Vivienne. I don't trust her. But I REALLY love the collar on her dress. Sorry Varric.
 

From outside those 3, I want to take Solas or Dorian (Depending on which is romanceable) Iron Bull, and Sera/Iron Bull depending on whether I'm a warrior/rogue.

Well, I don't just pick three and use them all the time.

 

I'll probably use:

Mage (Inq) + Mage + Warrior + Rogue

 

I'm curious if you can do anything to resolve the Varric/Iron Bull tension, or if it's best to kept them separated.  The conflict might be interesting and reason to pair them.  But let's assume I arrange people into a happy groups.

A-Team: Varric + Cassandra + Vivienne

B-Team: Sera + Iron Bull + Solas/Dorian

C-Team: Blackwall + Solas/Dorian + Varric

 

I'll have to get a feel for the game to see what groups work.  But since I don't know anything, I can make stuff up.  For Grey Warden stuff, I can send a group with Blackwall in it.  For Tevinter stuff, I can send a group with Dorian in it.  For stuff involving Elven history, I can send a group with Sera and/or Solas.  Rift stuff?  Maybe Solas team.  For stuff that I anticipate has a formal or political element I can use Vivienne.  People that don't like apostates?  Maybe Vivienne team again. Meeting someone that will deploy BS?  Bring Varric to neutralize.  The problem with this list is that it can and will change based on in-game experiences.  (Heck, I don't even have Cole slotted in anywhere yet!)  So it's fun to come up with a plan.  But I know I'll probably throw it away as soon as I have new information.

Out of those three Vivienne but I really dunno who I will use the most. I guess it depends on a few things, I will probably do allot of switching about anyway in my first run.

I will take Varric & Cassandra most of the time, unless one of them disapproves of something the other approves of on a mission, then I'll probably reload and only take the one who approves. I'm going to play like that, lol. Not really sure about the other characters; I'll probably switch in Blackwall, Solas, Iron Bull, Sera, & Dorian a bit & see who I like best. I will maybe switch in Vivienne & Cole if I think they'll disapprove of my actions on an upcoming quest, hahaha

 

Wait a sec, I just had a realization: do we only have 2 rogues in our playable party and 4 mages? That seems oddly uneven.

No we have three rogues. Varric, Sera, the guy who is obviously Cole and three mages Vivienne, Solas, Dorian. Ofc Quizzy will make it four playable mages or rogues or warriors depending on the class you pick.

Isn't Cole a blood mage or a spirit, supposedly, though? Or is he like Justice only a "Spirit Rogue" instead of a Spirit Warrior?

Thanks. I haven't read Asunder, but I guess those abilities might be similar to rogue stealth abilities. Either way, I don't think I'll like or trust him.

Is it just me, or did they make Varric even sexier?

 

Obviously I would choose Varric, Iron Bull, Blackwall, and possibly Solas or Dorian, depending on personalities. And I would take Cullen every chance I got.
