Let's see, I'll try out a dd mage, Knight-Enchanter spec, first so I'll take 1 warrior (tank), 1 rogue (dd), 1 mage (support/healer) as companions

Rogue: Sera, never was that big a fan of Varric and Bianca and not a fan of melee rogues' damage and utility.

Warrior: Cassandra at least long enough so that I can turn either Iron Bull or Blackwall into a tank

Mage: Haven't decided on the healer yet. Not sold on Vivienne's design, personality and origin yet so either Dorian or Solas maybe I'll change it up frequently.

In Dragon Age Origins i had an unique opportunity to kill or dispose any of the companions.

Morrigan could be dissmissed right at Lothering.
Leliana could have been left in that tavern. Or killed at a certain point.
Stan could have been left in that cage.
Wynne could have been killed at the same point as Leliana.
Zevran could have been killed at the first few minutes after meeting him.
Dog... Either stab him with knife or just left to die without cure.

It's naive to hope that they give me the same opportunity in DAI.

The point is that i want to have an opportunity not only express my love to certain characters but also show my hate to them.

Probably just Cassandra, Varic and Sera for as much of the game as that combination is possible. Two ranged baddasses and meat a shield.

Varric, and Solas. With Dorian, Cole, and Blackwall serving as the the pinch hitters.

Currently, I have plans to utilize Varric and Cassandra, but am open to who will fill the remaining slot. That depends on their class and that of the Inquisitor.

Solo may happen after I sift thru dialogue and banter for some time, as well as what actually occurs on the higher Difficulty settings. But it took ages for this to occur in DAO, and passed on it altogether for DA2.

But never Ironman; Save Game fanatic.

Out of the three: Blackwall.

I'm not too excited about Varric and I'm not sure my Inquisitor will get along with Vivienne.

Bioware needs to stop asking me questions I'm not emotionally ready to answer.

Mage Inquisitor:  Varric or Sera, Cassandra, Blackwall or Iron Bull

Warrior Inquisitor:  Cassandra, Dorian (as long as he can heal), Varric or Sera

Rogue Inquisitor:  Cassandra, Dorian (as long as he can heal), Varric or Sera

I really doubt i would use cole much, unless his character is just amazing (from looks no), i really dont care for vivene at least from her description, dont care for solas (his baldness looks too damn funky) unless he has an awesome personality, Blackwall and Iron Bull would be used as DPS, but if im a warrior or rogue, that's going to be my inquisitor's role.

Why not try 2hed tanks?

Out of everyoneeee...

Cole (intrigued since Asunder!) or Cassandra
Iron Bull (again, I'm curious to see what he's like, plus potential LI)
Either Vivienne, Dorian or Solas as my mage (hoping Dorian will be a bi LI, but I doubt it or Solas as LI)

I always take my LI with me as much as possible, but I'm not decided yet (plus we don't know)

I'm planning to be an elven rogue or mage so that will affect who I take, I generally don't like having 2 rogues in my party.. But Cole...

I really want to run with Cole and Sera. That's 2 rogues, though. I really don't know what my PC was going to be, other than a F!Qun. Since I'm really interested in Dorian, I might have to go Warrior.

I wish I could play a game like this where I could bring all my freaking companions. I am so tired of being forced to only bring a few with me. And I hope it is more like ME2-3 this time, where I am not required to bring someone that has lock pick or essential skills like that.

You'll always have to take a rogue, that's a team based RPG tradition I don't want to see disappear.

Iron Bull, Cole, Sera, Dorian, Vivienne, Solas... crap, that's more than 3 already.

In reality it will probably depend on their ability trees. Think I'll like Cassandra, but if she starts out with lots of sword and board abilities, she'll be staying home most of the time. Likewise if any of the mages focus on healing magic. I don't like playing defensive specs.

Of those three? It certainly is a tough call. Think I'm gonna go with Vivienne for now.

I realize now, that I may have changed my opinion on Cole. He seems like he might be an alright guy/spirit/whatever what with trying to help the helpless, so I might actually legitimately want him in my party at some point. This opinion is subject to change pending further information. I still plan on bringing Varric & Cassandra around as much as possible and working to annoy Vivienne when I can, though. The other party characters still seem fairly cool to me so I will still probably try to switch them in a bit, as well. Basicaly, right now the only absolute constant is that I really like Cassandra & Varric and want them to be my best buds in the game, and love interest as well in the case of Cassandra.

I'm starting out as a rogue, and I only like to have one rogue in my party, so none of the rogue companions the first time around.

I will have Cassandra be my sword and shield tank. The Iron Bull will use a 2-hander and melee DPS. Either Solas or Dorian will be my healer. I will sit back and plink arrows into enemy mages.

Varric. It's not even a contest.
