Wow, Varric's gorgeous in that picture.
Hormones aside, I plan on taking Varric, Bull, and Cole for my first playthrough as I plan to roll a male Qunari mage Inquisitor.
I'm not sure if I'll ever use Vivienne or Sera. Vivienne reminds me too much of an aunt of mine whom I would love nothing more than to toss into a shark tank, and Sera... her personality reminds me of a friend of my pa's. Every time he opens his mouth, I wanna kick him in the crotch.
He's also a bigot, so that's not helping Sera's case, either.
*sigh* Those two will probably be stuck at camp, unless they do something drastic outside the companion circle that changes my current opinion of them.
As for Dorian, Cassandra, Solas, and Blackbeard, from what I know, they seem interesting and, thankfully, don't remind me of anyone I know whom I can't stand. Might switch Varric and/or Cole for them if I need a change of pace. ![]()
I laugh is someone said, "Neither, I'm going solo".
I guess it could change, but from those 3 right now before having played, probably Blackwall. Probably not Varric. Mayybe Vivienne.
Blackwall seems like a rip-offy version of the Hound or something, which is.. all right.
I wonder who will be the least popular companion. My guess is either Cole or Vivienne.

I think a lot of the hate that Cole has already gotten is from people that didn't read asunder. The wiki page for him certainly doesn't do his character justice. So I think when people see him in game, things might change. Though naturally there will still be haters just for the fact that his a spirit.(just like with anders/justice)
I was going to have Varric and Vivienne, but after Cole reveal i think im going to stick with the boy as my main rogue.
Vivienne is cool but the sheer amount of promotional material with her is slowly getting on my nerves. That was Liara turn-off for me with ME series, i hardly used the girl, although i must admit she is a good character. On the other hand if shes snarky enough i might fall in love with her like i did with Morrigan, who became my warden's bff.
For the warriors - a tie between Cass and IB.
The third spot is prob going to be rotated between characters and whoever feels more appropriate for a given mission.
Edit: or it will also depend on whoever trolls others more. Then my party will be locked
Yeah, Liara being forced down our throats (both in adverts and in game with all the romance bugs) eventually made me get a bad taste when thinking about her. I remember when "From Ashes" in ME3 forced me to take her along my first response was "OF COURSE THEY DO." I almost rage quit right there
. Vivienne hasn't got there yet, but damn, they are trying.
That being said, I find myself fascinated with Dorian, interested in Sera and loving Cassandra. So it's looking like those would be more up there in terms of consistent party members. That said, I have to admit that so far, DAI looks like it will have me switching out more than ever before.
Varric and Vivienne for sure.
