The HMCC will likely endure for the life of the X1 but waiting for it could be a mistake

I don't doubt it, I been really wanting to play every single campaign for a while especially Halo 2 amd 3. But it really comes dowm to money and how badly I want that beta code

I wonder if Locke is gonna be an antagonist given he's an ONI agent, probably with some hidden order or agenda.

Well, by that time Parangosky is retired and Osman is the leader of ONI(I'm sorry if I just said a bunch of nonsense to you, I'm reading one of the novels right now so it's a little fresh)

So ONI may be a little softer.

I'm wondering if they are going to keep their promise that they won't bring the other Spartan II's into the games. I'd actually like to see it, given how Linda was in the story of the first Halo in the Anniversary edition, and was known for being a loner more than John was. Also, sniper support would be top.

I've read none of the Halo novels, hahaha. Halo lore is rich and vast. Hard to get it all.

I haven't read the comics or played Halo 2(yet), for what it's worth.

And I've not touched Halo IV. Hell I didn't play Reach either, though I know the story of course.

Halo 4 had an excellent story, and Reach, while enjoyable, is not all that great.

Earthbound went on about how Halo 4's soundtrack is fantastic. I'll find out soon enough.

It doesn't have anywhere near the charm and soul that Marty O'Donnell's tracks had, but it's pretty decent all the same.

I'm kind of hoping Marty goes back to Halo now that Bungie fired him for no good reason.

Not the entire soundtrack admittedly, but the ones that are good are just as amazing, IMHO. '117' is and quite possibly always will be my favourite piece from any game.

Still, I'd be happy if they took Marty back for full marks across the board.

I thought 4's version of 'Unforgotten' was good too. Though still not as good as the original one in Halo 2 tbh.

So November 14th for the MC collection... No point pre ordering that one. I'll probably be about 4-5 weeks late to that party.

Good thing there's enough content there to keep everyone going ad infinitum.

Which was surprising.  Sure most of the game is still mindless FPS action, but they incorporated the story very well.  I was very impressed, and greatly enjoyed it as the end to my Halo journey.

Spoiler

Halo is a good, solid franchise.  They got lots of lore and a strong world to work with.  Though I'm not interested in Halo 5, I hope they continue to make solid games.

You should read The Flood by William C. Dietz.

For sh*ts and giggles of course.

Compared to the other games, I agree. It had solid pacing which incorporated well with the gameplay elements, an interesting villain / threat which had previously been mentioned / hinted at in previous games, was very solid with the lore (much more than I had anticipated) and more characterization added to both Chief and Cortana (as well as further exploring and strengthening their relationship).

Don't know what they have in store for Halo 5, but I am not currently interested in it since I won't be getting an X1, so we'll see whether I just postpone my experience or watch a YouTube walkthrough on it.

Well, my first experience with it was watching the multiplayer way back in High School, but it wasn't until college when I got my hands on the Single-Player itself. It had very smart AI, and an absolutely massive setting that honored the sense of scale. Just look up, and you see the enormous space ring in all its glory. They also found clever ways of making console FPSes work with minimal-auto aim tricks. I typically avoid auto-aim at all costs, but they made it work. The storyline never impressed me(It's like Starcraft, but as a First-Person Super Soldier or something cause reasons), but it's not what made the game great for me. A bit like with Mass Effect, the combination of exploration, the fresh take on combat, and the atmosphere itself sold me.

...and like Mass Effect, my interest kinda petered out around Number 3. From what I saw from playthroughs, they did a strong job on 4, and I'll keep my eyes on 5. Like Chewin, I'm avoiding X1 and sticking with PS4. They might get other ports, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I remember back in high school I played Halo on PC. Back in 11th grade in my Applied Web Design class, our teacher was absent, so we said "*expletive it*, lets find something to do"

Someone in the class found out that all the PCs were fitted with the Halo multiplayer from years ago, so we all(as in those interested) hopped on.

Then in some weird sort of coincidence, another class room in the school was also on the Halo PC MP. So it was sort of a class vs class type thing.

It was such a blast. Thank you impromptu unintentional high school LAN party.

Not gonna lie. Spent countless hours on Halo 2's multiplayer back in the day. My roomies used to play the hell out of Halo 1's PC Demo just to blast each other in Blood Gulch for free. :P Good times.
