So for those who say they are 'Haloed out' do you not find the universe interesting? I hope the Halo timeline continues with a reputable writer and a consistent one. I would not mind reading it. I just don't want multiple authors ruining it.

I was Halo'd out after Reach. MCC brought me back. That's where I first played Halo 4 and CEA. Enjoyed them both so that's good

Yeah, MS shoved the Halo 3 MP in there to price it $60.

I'll play the ODST remaster after I've finished The Witcher 3(been playing it since launch and am not even close to finishing it) and Episode 4 of Telltale's Game of Thrones.

Is anyone else wanting another ODST like game?  Yeah it was a series of side-stories but I really liked the unit, the audio logs, and the atmosphere; very Film Noire and the fact that the city computer is watching your every movement is downright creepy. 

 

It was cool. I'll always remember Sadie's Story.

Ugh, the achievement that killed Halo for me. Well, killed it for years anyway. I'm gonna have to do it again this time just to say I did but at least now it'll hopefully be easier.

I wonder what a game about the Insurrectionists during the Human-Covenant war would be like? Imagine facing Elite Zealots and SPARTANs in a three-way firefight but you're a regular dude.

From what I've seen the general reception for New Blood is quite positive over all (granted there are issues with pacing), and Mickey becoming a rebel isn't far fetched since both his parents were rebels as well.

I don't read the novels so I just looked into this New Blood one.

The Rookie of ODST is now dead and Jun survived Reach and is still with the UNSC. Huh.

 

I should be paying attention more to the material outside of the games.

Jun being alive was well known before new blood, in a related note one of the spartan's in Locke's team has been relieved.

Fair enough, though 343 threads generally say otherwise, especially among many of the more hardcore and long-term fans. For the most part, the people who think New Blood is good are the same people who think Sarah Palmer was a good character. I have a lot of issues with the how the story was presented in its entirety, and I can dig up an old post I made on the 343 forum about it if you like.

Jun is acknowledged to have survived as far back as the Halo comics from 2013. 

 

The weird thing is how did he survive Reach and get off? Halo: A Fistful of Arrows (a fanfiction, but it has been acknowledged by Bungie and 343 as exceptionally well made. A lot of people even think that as far as comics go, it's better made than most of the canon stories for it. 

 

It's damn good. I think the author captures the atmosphere and idea for Halo perfectly. The only thing it doesn't explain is how Jun actually survives.

There are a lot of people who play it who are offered by 343 to represent them in games. They do give out certain awards for people who are active in the community.

There is some seriously crazy news revolving around this game:

 

Summarization of GI article:

• Whether playing as Chief or Locke, you're accompanied by a fireteam of 3 A.I. which you can command/issue orders to in the campaign
• Highlighting an enemy and hitting up on the D-Pad orders your team to assault an enemy
• Other commands include picking up certain weapons, using turrets, driving warthog, etc
• AI teammates can revive you as well
• Confirmed: Linda, Kelly, and Fred join the Chief
• Game starts out before Chief is on the run
• Audio has been heavily reworked from the ground up for Xbox One (bullet sounds, debris, etc)
• 8 months after Halo 4 ends, cataclysmic events are tearing apart star systems, these are tied to the Guardians (Forerunner entities shown in the first teaser trailer)
• Game Informer played the second mission, taking command of Chief and Blue Team to take back an ONI research vessel abandoned for 2 years
• Team banter replaces interactions with Cortana to flesh out the characters
• There are multiple routes to take in levels
• The zealous religions Covenant are slowly abandoning Jul M'dama's leadership in Halo 4
• XBL Gold is not required for online co-op.
• Halo 5 will launch with over 20 multiplayer maps
• 15 DLC maps by June 2016
