Watching that remastered Halo 2 trailer makes me regret buying a PS4...

Well if I truly had the money for both, upgrading my PC would be the more favorable approach than getting either of the two consoles.

4 was a lot better than most people give it credit for. In many ways, it was a much more engaging experience than 3. Well, at least the SP. I never bothered to get gold to play MP.

 

I'll find out in November for myself. I've heard positives and negatives regarding 4. Was never sure if it was just people being loyal to Bungie or if they were accurate and unbiased.

I have to agree with this. I don't do multi player ( well, competitive player vs player multi player ) but halo 4's campaign is actually pretty fun. For a new studio I liked the direction that 343 is trying to take the story down.

I remember talking to a friend as he was playing it and he seemed to enjoy the campaign.

The only problem with the campaign was some of the alien designs like the elites and grunts, as well as certain story parts not making any sense unless you read the books. Other than that, the campaign is actually good. Its the multiplayer that brought the game down alot

• Loadouts: Yeah, you can choose what type of weapons and grenades you can spawn with. Yes, you can spawn with a plasma pistol and plasma grenade in BTB, not to mention the addition of perks
• ordinance drops: basically kill streaks, but they only offer weapons, power ups and grenades
• kill cams
• a gimped forge mode compared to Halo Reach's
• ruining CTF (they made it that you carry the flag and a magnum, and you cant drop it)
• power weapons were not fixed on the map, but instead there were fixed locations where random power weapons spawned (I do believe they patched this)
• No more X indicators over a killed team mate (I believe they fixed that too)

That's just a handful of things, as well as the DMR and Boltshot being extremely OP weapons as well. I may give it a shot, but I believe I will be avoiding H4 MP in MCC and sticking with Halo 2 and 3 MP

They should. They're a dedicated playlist (proving ground) and BR slayer is a dedicated subset. They should be there, we are lead to believe that full MP suites of all 4 games are going to be there. So.... yeah, they should.

That's some impressive stuff. Man, I think my best was probably 3 hours or so solo on CE. I mean, the Library is a b!tch, I could see dropping at least an hour in that if you're not careful and really skilled. 

 

Legendary on HALO CE is no joke. No joke at all.

Considering how incredibly long the life cycle of these things is going to be, the cost of a new console is pretty insignificant for anyone who is able to afford and use good enough TV to operate a console. If you zoom out to some long enough time line that is!   Ultimately it is not  a question of money but rather,  what kind of a geek heaven do you want your living room to become. Should you pile up every single half decent console there just because you can afford it? PS4 and (to bit lesser degree) Xbox One are most powerful, so I guess you want them both? Neither of them has all that impressive catalog of games in a long while though. So if you like using your gaming device for playing games, you want to have PS3 and Xbox there for that purpose. Wii and Wiiu have impressive amount of games entirely  different in feel and spirit to cold multi-platform COD **** of AAA industry.  So, ofc, you want them piled up there just as well! For sake of nostalgy, of course Snes and PS2 have a place there. And you just can't have SNES and PS2 without Nes and PS1. And why stop there, when Sega and Atari had perfectly awesome machines to.... etc etc.

Where is it going to end?  I'd hate to have my living room in such condition.I AM A GAMER WHO WANTS TO  PLAY GAMES ALL THE TIME! THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO THIS ROOM!!WOO PICK UP THAT PAD BRO  is not the sole message I want the living room to broadcast to me and everybody else in there. Many people, myself included  just don't want to see some huge dumb collection of boxes sitting all over the place in there.

 

For me personally, two consoles plugged in, alive and well underneath my tv  is a bit  so-so and  three most assuredly at least one too many. Needless to say, Xbone never has room in such set up. This changes the moment I realize I need a machine from Microsoft in order to watch TV.  Until that moment dawns, WiiU and PS4 all the way. Assuming they actually make games for Ps4 /new gen some day, that is.

 

If somebody who mainly  plays games on PC wants one and only one console, and ends up picking anything except WiiU he or she has made a bad decision.

 

Sorry for OT, I didn't mean to break the nostalgic conversation about 12 year old console FPS games.

The guy died 7 times, had to reload checkpoints a few times on top of that, and completed The Maw(the final portion of the game) in a few minutes longer than it needed. So in theory, the guy could cut his time down way more by a few minutes.
