Yes, every one of these freckles need to be kissed off:
With that said, we can close out this thread which is IMPROPERLY titled -- "Why does everybody LOVE Liara".
I volunteer ![]()
I'll just have to respectively agree to disagree with you on that accord. When I asked my friend today if content was the only reason she liked Liara more, she replied "Kinda, and because she is the only lesbian romance option." She doesn't consider Kelly or Sam as a relationship option. When I asked her if she felt that the game implied Liara was suppose to be with Shep by default, her answer was "most certainly". Now, of course my friend's thoughts aren't the thoughts of everyone by any means. It is just her opinion. However, it does make me think polls are not to be used as an indication of anything. There are too many variables and unless the poll can explain why they chose her, some points of the opposition can remain. You like her and that is all that matters. Some dislike her, and that's okay too.
I never let little things like logic stop me ![]()

Eh, ignore him, he's just bitter.

Can you back up that claim?

haha That should be the mantra for the BSN. I like it.
Also, to be fair, if someone presented me with a poll on how a majority hated Liara, I would discount it too. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people say they hate something simply because "everyone" seems to like it. Personally, I think it's silly that anyone should have to defend why they love/hate something. It doesn't matter and only leads to arguments-- which I suppose is the reason threads like this exist.

I'm generally a pretty mellow guy and I'm the first to agree to disagree. But certain people just get on my nerves and get the best of me and then I start doing things like I did in this topic. Maybe I'll learn some day. But not likely ![]()
Besides, you know... BSN would be a much duller place if we all got along nicely ![]()
I think there are several very vocal and prolific posters who tend to not like Liara, and are drawn to such topics like moths to a flamethrower.
The main advantage Liara has a Femshep player is that over the trilogy she is the best romance for Femshep. ManfakeShep has more options to choose from.

Now that could be a controversial statement to some people, since I'm sure plenty of people would like to say Garrus or maybe Kaidan, but I see where you are coming from and agree but shhhh.
I do find it incredible that the most prolific romance for a FemShep (as in, all 3 games) is near enough a s/s romance. Ah, I remember the controversy way back when it first came out.
Didn't help Jacob in ME2, along with his constant presence in the comm room following missions.
Jacob only had to be picked for one mission, and maybe a second if you don't have Zaeed/Kasumi.
And Liara's probably the weakest squaddie ever. About the only thing she can do is dangle mooks in the air and die. Just not permanently.
Anyway, back to polls, that poll that was released is not only outdated, but it leaves out several characters. Hardly an ideal comparison to say Liara is favored.
Kaidan/FemShep kicks Liara/FemShep ass. The former has its ups and downs like a real relationship, the latter is just Space!Lesbians

He's right there, front-and-center, on the Cerberus facility, ready to deliver "the good stuff" as Shepard's first squadmate. He and Miranda both are mandatory for Freedom's Progress. He's absolutely necessary at first if you're running vanilla ME2. And he's constantly in the comm room guiding discussion, throughout the entire game. All that did nothing for his reputation.
The one complaint I have about Jacob being in the conference room was after I recruited Thane. He made that smarta** comment about having an assassin on the ship. I wanted to hit him and tell him that we will take all the help we can get.

Well of course people who dislike Liara will be drawn to threads titled, "Why do people hate Liara?" I mean, come on. lol
Also, genuine question: What do you mean by Manfakeshep?

Femshep is the only real shep. Manshep is just an aberration who should be purged.

Jeez, some people do take posts on here far too seriously sometimes ![]()

meh, I like them both. I play mainly femshep, but I love my manshep, too. He's pretty delicious.
I never tire of Nova. I'm a simple man of simple [violent] tastes.
If ever I could do a playthrough without having squadmates, it would be as a vanguard. Non-stop charge and nova.

I tried femShep once. I gotta say, the badassery is insane.

Yeah, femshep is awesome. I am just one of the rare few that prefers maleshep's voice and Sheploo's face. Sometimes I feel femshep's voice comes across as too aggressive for my liking. Not so much in ME1, but more so in ME2. I like them both, though--and they both have strengths and weaknesses.

For me it's Hale's voice that contributes a lot to femShep's ferocity and awesomeness. Her voice just exudes Head B**ch in Charge.
Meer's voice is great, particularly in ME3, but sometimes I find it... Rather soft. Deep, but soft. (and salacious) Though I like my Shepard soft, so ![]()

You know, this kind of goes to why I avoid ME2 romances for M!Shep. It just seems...off somehow. I like the carryover from ME1 the best.

Not to mention, Statis pretty much thrivializes entire Cerberus faction. Add the Warp for biotic explosion and Cerberus screams in horror before her.
I almost feel sorry for TIM. All that poor guy can do is gloat, but try as she might, he simply can't do anything to her.
