Oh right, because the Liara bashers never voice opinions as undeniable facts, telling us that their headcanon is fact now because we can't prove it wrong, explaining that Liara shouldn't mind the invasion of her homeworld and a few million deaths because they say so, declaring the codex invalid because only their opinion matters.

I'm with you on the canon romance thing, but again, I have yet to see a Liara fan who thinks her character is flawless. But even if someone thinks Liara is perfect, what's wrong with that? You obviously have no problems with people who hate everything about her, want to kill her, think she is the worst character ever etc.

It's the Liaramancers who say "She's your best friend/lover, get over it" constantly, no matter what we did in the story. Or that she's somehow the "fan favorite", or that we're "crazy" because we object to the fact that Liara takes Shep's charred armor and enshrines it in her apartment.

Or that someone else also offends. This isn't a topic about who does what wrong, or even which character is the most inconsistent. This is a topic about Liara, so only her stuff is relevant.

I've yet to see a character say Liara shouldn't be upset about Thessia, we're upset that Shepard cares more about Thessia falling than any other planet falling, and that she's making awful "jokes" about how the Alliance should start dying for Thessia instead.

Why should I? Most of these scenes have already been discussed to death, be it the Fai Dan scene, adept Shepard not using any biotics or Shepard and company standing around like a lump of coals during the Thane/Kai Leng fight.

If you don't want to, then don't.  You brought up cutscene stupidity. That s why I mentioned making a thread about it.

What headcanon? This has absolutely nothing to do with frickin headcanon. The rest is just grossly exaggerated.

I disagree with some of these people, but that doesn't mean I have a problem with them as a person. Neither do I have a problem with any Liara fans, I just disagree with their opinions.

Isn't it endearing when a "friend" pries into the expenditures for a classified military project and your personal medical records in one go?

I wasn't aware that Tali's masturbation habits were suddenly a medical concern.

Liara is smart, even for an Asari.

Liara, like all the companions grew alot and gained a lot of confidence from the events of ME1 and being with Shepard.

Liara essentially moves into the info brokering business and business of deal making between ME1 and ME2 when Shep was a corpsicle.

Very naturally she was as ready as anyone to become the new shadow broker.  Shes has the help of glyph and a ton of technology at her disposal.

A very believable series of events if you ask me.

Gee, it's in the same log as her immunobooster programs and utilities for a classified military project...

Liara takes google-stalking to a whole new level.

I will be blunt and say I have zero sympathy for Tali in any love triangle scenario. She throws herself at Shepard and is not even asking about Ashley and Liara if they are Shepards love interests. And then she gets feisty with them in Mass Effect 3 for absolutely no reason.

Liara and Garrus, for example, get along just fine.

And who in ME2 does ask? Didn't think so.

Being dead for two years (plus the dressing-down on Horizon) is enough to reasonably conclude the VS has moved on. For Liara, I admit, it's clear that she still thinks they have something - but then, the issue for non-Liaramancers is that she behaves as though they have something even if you were a complete ass to her in ME1, and we're expected to roll with it.

Garrus and Tali are both classy about it if you break things off; the confrontation only gets nasty if you've been leading on both your ME1 and 2 LI's without locking in either of them. Really, Shepard is the philandering, manipulative ass they both ought to be angry with instead of being catty with each other.

For the record, no, I don't hate Liara. The only Shepard of mine (out of six) whom I RP'd as abrasive towards her was based on Jayne Cobb, and recruited her so late that she was saying nothing they didn't already know.

Except the things were, you know... already collected by the yagh.

But sure, lets pin this one on Liara too. Makes perfect sense, after all.

Dunno...I simply loved Liara. Guess the fact that she was Mac Walters favorite pet kind of helped....lucky me I like her.

To be fair though I would be pretty annoyed if I liked a companion from ME2....thanks God I disliked them all (except Garrus and Tali of course)

True, but she's fully aware of who you're shtupping when you invite her on the ship

Also, I find it funny you're holding it against Liara for snooping around quarian's classified military project, when that is basically her job, but you're totally fine with Tali swiping the plans for Normandy's stealth drive.

She's aware of it in the conversation immediately after the fight with Vasir, when you haven't even gone to the Normandy or the Shadow Broker base yet.

Specifically refuted by Patrick Weekes, but I agree it makes a better story.

One act aids the war effort (Shepard can specifically tell her to look around the SR-2), the other is metaphorically rooting around an associate's underwear drawer. I don't hold it against Liara, looking up Project Haestrom, but I question the point of doing so.

This proves... what exactly?

You know, I almost feel like arguing around this with you, but I think we're both aware it's an exercise in futility.

So I'll just say I disagree and call it a day.

Simple. It proves she's already spying on Shepard before taking the Shadow Broker base. She didn't learn of it through the data dumps she finds there.

Jacob, Miranda, Jack and Thane were no ME1 squadmates. They don't know Liara, Ashley and Kaidan personally and I don't expect them to ask about Shepards ME1 love interest. Garrus knows Liara and Kaidan, but at least he isn't vicious. Tali on the other hand is the first one to make a snarky remark.

Good. Evil terrorist organizations and the people working for them should be spied on.

Yes...Liara was clearly able to place surveillance devices on the Normandy without EDI's or Cerberus' knowledge, and without even setting a foot on the Normandy SR2 to spy on Shepard. But the fact that everyone else also knows immediately when you cheat (for example if you romance Traynor in ME3)...no problem at all. I believe the term is "double standards".

How the Shadow Broker was able to do so (surveillance of Jacob's work-out) is another question. I'm willing to brush it off as bad writing/continuity oversight. Simply pointing out a possible interpretation, that Liara did not in fact first learn of it from the SB dossiers as was claimed earlier.

Totally couldn't be Shepard and LI are spotted during them walking around Illium, being sweet to one another or something like that, eh?

To be fair all the character dossiers and surveillance camera vids in the DLC were inherited from Liara's predecessor. Shepard is browsing through stuff the Yahg left behind, rather than information gathered or stolen by Liara.

Allowing Shepard to snoop on the private details of his companions is unethical though. That being said, unless Shepard refused to take a look he or she is just as guilty.

Who'd have thought a video of a shirtless Jacob doing crunches for ten seconds could be so significant?

Given that it's entirely possible your ME2 LI never sets foot on Illium, I'm gonna go with "no."

But, then, the triangle content never really interested me much. Had one FemShep who jumped from Liara to garrus and stuck with him, and JayneShep who royally screwed up (romanced Ashley, then Jack (died in the SM), Kelly, and Miranda, got called out by Ashley and broke up with Miranda to patch things with Ashley, who died cursing him to hell during the coup; Miranda got shanked by Kai Leng and Kelly is presumably one of the bodies we walk by in Citadel: The Return. Shot the brat in a moment of frustration. Alternative was low-EMS Destroy).
