Having played several other games on the PS4 where the controller is used, I can say it would be travesty not to use it.

I hope your joking... imo it would be a travesty to use it. Besides I don't think they can really, as none of the other platforms have one.

I played Transistor not long ago, the speaker was used to by the sword to talk. Other platforms might not have the speaker but still should not stop the brilliant sers over at Bioware from using it.
We need to start getting used to next gen.

I practically jumped out of my skin playing Shadowfall the first time the voices came out of the speaker. Bound by Flame uses it for enviromental effects.

If this and the touchpad are seriously "next gen" im gonna end up throwing myself out of a clock tower. Not that I know of a clock tower near me but still its good dramatic effect.

Totally agree. The controller speaker on the PS4 is way cool.

Tomb Raider uses it, and it's on Xbox One as well.
They totally can use it, just as the Xbox One version could use Kinect. The game should play to the strengths of each platform, making use of what the system has to offer. I'm not saying they should use either of those things, but am instead simply commenting that they each version of the game shouldn't be bound by what the other versions cannot do.

Personally, I think the next gen expirience is more than shiny graphics, I dont honestly count better looking graphics as next gen alone. I consider the Wii for example as next gen.
Release a game that utilises the features of the PS4, Xbox, and Wii.

The touchpad can have practical applications (it can function as 2 buttons and as an 8 way ability selector for instance), but the speaker... yeah, not too fond of that. You can disable it at an OS level I think though, so if it's an option for those that want it, that wouldn't be too bad.

Lol, it's not .. Sadly EA don't like the Wii U.
But I was trying to make a point on how many people don't even count the Wii U as next gen because they say it has "inferior" specs.

As I understand it the specs are comparable to the ps3.

Ewwh that'd be horrible why have a great sound system if some tiny horrible speaker will totally ruin It.
Honest, have you experienced the speaker?

Honest, have you experienced a good sound system?
Asking for honesty on the internet... but yes I do have. I did find out you could turn it completely off so it doesn't really matter whether they use it or not to me.

I think you are missing my point. The PS4 controller speaker actually is not there to output all the sounds of the game, that will be silly. Developers have come up with many ingenious ways of using it in different games, all I'm asking is for Bioware to do the same, do what they do best, take advantage of the feature and enhance the game experience.
Like I said you need to experience it first, have you really?

He's not saying all of the sound should come out of the speaker instead of the TV or sound system. The speaker can be used for additional sounds. To use Tomb Raider as an example, the radio transmissions come through the DS4's speaker while the rest of the audio comes through as normal.

I'm aware of that, it's still a tiny speaker and the sound quality pretty bad.

Thanks, explaining stuff is not one of strong points. He's not saying all of the sound should come out of the speaker instead of the TV or sound system. The speaker can be used for additional sounds. To use Tomb Raider as an example, the radio transmissions come through the DS4's speaker while the rest of the audio comes through as normal.
Here are some examples I thought about for DA:I
+ what if your LI could speak to you personally through the speaker?
+ spirits talk to you through the speaker especially in the fade?
+ the speaker could be used to also listen to the inquisitors inner thoughts, such as what the inquisitor thinks about other party members?
+ while in combat the inquisitors battle cries, chants, spells, etc..
+ during dialogue the text that explains what the option wheel icon represents.
+ ... Endless possibilities
Not sure if Bioware is going to do this already, will sure make a heck of an experience for sure.
Iam not trying to antagonise players on other platforms, so I suggest a setting could be added to toggle sound through the speak or the standard delivery output.

That is understandable but how and why would MS be allowed to influence the game experience?

Money...
Not to say MS is discouraging them from implementing PS4 voice commands, I doubt they'd pay for it though.
