The more I think about it, the more the Deluxe edition seems to be a ripoff

I wasn't particularly interested in the Deluxe edition, but after being screwed over with the Inquiitor's Edition, I decided I would set my sights on the deluxe edition.  But now, the more I think about it, the more I feel the extra 10$/€ asked is a ripoff.

For 10$/€ more, you just get a bunch of worthless digital items, that yeah, will maybe look interesting for a while and have some usefulness, but when you compare to Bioware's other special or collector's editions, you really see the content for what it's worth, and that worth is not 10$.

Dragon Age 2 signature's edition cost the same as the standard edition and had DLC content, an entire playable character and sidequest associated with, and the Black Emporium among other digital items.  Looking at Mass Effect 3's Collector's edition, for 20$/€ more, you had a major DLC character and quests associated which alone is worth 10$ (I think that was the price for people who didn't buy the collector's edition).  But then you also had a butt load of physical items and another buttload of digital items to justify the last 10$.

In DAI Deluxe edition, you basically get a bunch of what would have been pre-order bonuses at different retailers, no physical extras, and... and... that's it.... -_-

How is that worth 10 extra $/€?  You know what, Bioware and EA didn't want to make the collector's edition available for me.  Fine.  But the next best thing isn't the Deluxe edition, which is a blatant rip-off, but just the standard edition of the game.  I see people crying over not getting to order a PC Deluxe edition.  Honestly, I feel they're better off, but I guess that's just my opinion.

Many shops have the standard edition available and when you pre-order you get some of the deluxe edition's bonuses for the same price. That's what I did since the PC physical deluxe is not available, and after looking at the extra content, I think that it's an alright alternative without paying extra.

This is the result of people not liking day-one dlc though. If the deluxe content contained dlc missions and characters, people would have complained like they have with previous games. The devs have explained that the dlc comes as dlc because it also gets its own, seperate budget, meaning that it's either that or no extra content at all (though they explained that too late to change people's minds).

Well, I buy the digital deluxe edition because of convenience. You don't have to insert any DVD to install the game, Origin installs the games plus all additional content.

Also, my house is sort of full of geeky gear already, I don't have enough room for a whole lot more.

Doesen't it come with a sound track?  If the sound track is good most sound tracks to my knoweldge is anywhere from 10-20 bucks.  So that alone is worth it to me, especially considering Trevor Morris seems to be the third great god in the Triumverate of music.  The rest is just icing on the proverbial cake.

Well, the soundtrack that came with the Origins CE was like.... ten songs, and didn't even include the best song in the game.

Hopefully this time "soundtrack" means "the entire soundtrack."

That is a huge rumor about it being a rip off, but might want to post this in feedback.

I doubt it will be the 'entire' sound track but a collection of the really big and epic songs certainly wouldn't go remiss.

And really:  Out of all the songs, Leiliana's song, the opening theme, the one where you are gathering your army to get Denerim and that is the best song in the game? :P

No, I don't consider it a rip off.

Recently the next gen and cross gen games seem to be coming out at around €70 for the standard edition . DA:I is €69.99 for the Deluxe Edition that has a ton of DLC and a Soundtrack that I probably would've paid more than €10 for if it came out separately.

Ya im against preorder bonuses. So ya I agree, total rip off. One thing that really bugs me is the halla. I heard there wouldn't be a halla in the actual game(which is a load of bullshit) and so the only one is in the deluxe. <insert cartman here>

The Red Hart 'Halla' is not a Halla it's a deer.

It should've just red Red Hart, but there was a mistake in the marketing when it was released.

Even if it was, where did you hear there were no halla in the game?

I've no issue with preorder bonus' as long as they are made available to people who didn't preorder at some stage in the future.

I don't really care about the extra content. I don't plan on using the bog unicorn of the extra throne or the flaming weapons. I did buy it though because of the soundtrack. Figure $10 is worth that.

The soundtrack will be available on Youtube a few days after release (or even before), as usual. With that, the only additional content will be a few virtual items, which don't justify the difference.
