Well, I like the Fade-but then I also like shapeshifting.

Not the first time though. I really had trouble figuring out the puzzles in the last area.

they don't like it because they fail to triple click the stat nodes and get 2-3 times the amount of stats :P

As others have said, I miss my group.  The Deep Roads are another chore but at least my team is with me babbling away.

After the 10th playthrough the fade becomes stale and repetitive, heck at this point I would love a mod that blocks out combat leaving the game completely conversation/cinematic xD (an interactive story if you will, well at least I can powerhouse through the combat! DAO on pc is awesome)

It would have been nice to have a loaf of bread and drop crumbs to show where I'd been. Or maybe chocolate and then I could have eaten it on the way back. (it's the fade - the chocolate wouldn't get dirty would it?)

^It's most likely that it would get dirty since the person would think it would. The bread wouldn't be real in the first place; it would look, feel, and taste like bread only because the mind thinks so. Same thing with any other items like weapons, or even physical sensations like feeling pain.

That's what made it so odd that we can take our kit into the fade and back (with Death Syphon etc. allowing it to loot stuff from golems and ogres).

^Bringing in your kit into the Fade is understandable, but bringing out what you gathered in the Fade to the physical world is kind of silly, at least from what we know about the fade till now. May be we'll get to know more about the dynamics between the two realms in the upcoming installment, especially with characters like Cole and a major part of the plot being centered around the rip.

I'd imagine the physical loot was unintentional, otherwise those items would have simply vanished like in the Magi origin and in Awakening.

I absolutely despised the Fade the first time I played DAO, but after many, many playthroughs, I've developed a tolerance for it. I've done it so many times that I've got it down to a science (twice to Darkspawn, twice to Inferno, once to Mage, and once to Templar, and then the companion nightmares). Shapeshifting can be fun, and the stat bonuses are quite lovely. I also enjoy the companion's nightmares because it gives insight into their characters.

I don't mind the fade but I would have preferred meeting up with at least one party member who could accompany me through the rest of it.

Hate is a very strong word. At this point, after many games, I'd really rather not. There aren't any real opportunities for interaction with any one for the most of it and that makes playing through it a bit of a grind. The 'skip the fade' mod does preserve the interesting bits and allows the player to dodge all the solo grind-y stuff.

It's a slog, the vignetting is awful, infinite dreamscape apparently means "washed out and brown", Uthkiel the Crusher is one of the least-hype bossfights in the game.

I'm in the after the first couple playthroughs the novelty's over crowd, especially after how many playthroughs I've done, I'm more than fine with trimming what I can.    I'm fine with the running it solo angle, and even ticking off the blur effects, it's still a tangle of backtracking around in a run that feels about as long as the Deep Roads are.  As much as there's ample complaints about the Deep Roads, at least with them there's the able to break it up into portions and run some sidequests to change the pace rather than the slog through the Circle Tower to the point I completely sympathize with Irving about who thought it was a good idea to put the Circle in a tower when it's over, and now have to trudge around the Fade as a solid chunk of a go.

If the Deep Roads was set up the same where you had to slog through the whole thing entire from beginning to end, I'd be all for a Skip the Deep Roads mod as well.

I think it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't feel the need to pick up every stat boost

There is only a small amt of backtracking needed for the fade; can be done by this Ancient gamer in about one hour if refreshed on the game. Look through this or another walkthrough for guidance tips:

If normal chocolate gets dirty in the fade then how about M&Ms. You could wipe them on your armour before eating them. ;) Smiley faces denotes that I am not serious.

Fade makes me feel claustrophobic.

I don't hate the Fade, but I'm not much of a dungeon-crawler. By that, I mean long periods of wandering around, fighting stuff, backtracking, solving stuff, with little-to-no story or character interaction to break the tedium. As you have no companions with you, the Fade ends up being a bit more boring for me than the Deep Roads.

The actual dream scenes are great though. I'd do the Fade again just to replay those. :)

After the 10th playthrough the fade becomes stale and repetitive

But the rest of the game doesn't get repetitive?

As for it being too long, I can see that, but then why don't we have "Skip the Deep Roads" mods? Unless we do have those....

The Skip the Fade mod still keeps those in.  However if you use the Ser Gilmore mod, unless it's been updated since I last used it, his dream sequence doesn't play nice with the Skip mod.

Good to know :) I haven't played DA:O in long enough, now, that I probably wouldn't mind doing the Fade again next time I install it. It was a fairly unique area, after all.

The Fade is easily one of my favorites parts of the game, second to the Urn quest. The change of pace and scenery was very welcome since I did the Circle quest rather late in the game. Very well thought puzzles, it's funny and you can be a freaking Golem! A GOLEM! End of discussion, people.

Hated it because I got stuck there for 4 hrs. After that I was never the same again. The skip the fade mod was the first ever mod ive installed.

It's pretty meh but what bothers me most about it is that falling asleep is scripted, you can't "lolnope" the demon

Well, at least you get to express your displeasure on that account very, very thoroughly. Like five times over. :D
