I was playing ME2 through for like the billionth time, and I was the police station after recruiting Samara.
I noticed this turian in a corer, chatting to someone.
LOOK FAMILIAR????

But those turians are probably just from the same colony hence the same facial tattoos.
I love Nihlus' face in that last picture. Even he is shocked by this! Seriously though, It's probably just a recycled character model... unfortunately.
Bioware probably thought noone would notice. nonetheless if there was one turian that deserved more "screen time", it's Nihlus.

Perhaps Turian face paintings, from the same clan/colony/family, or whatever, got miniscule personal differences no untrained "non-turian" eye could detect or recognize at first?
Or perhaps he "did a Conrad Verner" on Nihlus; pretending he lived the exiting high-life of a famous council spectre, instead of a paper-pushing C-Sec officer... drowning in red-tape as he tries to make it to each pay day, dreaming of "hitting the big one" on the Silversun strip?

Though Garrus is my favorite character in the series, I can't help wondering about those needle-sharp teeth which is indigenous to most lower life forms. Perhaps Ashley Williams noticed that when she told Shep (ME1) "tell me to jump & I say how high -- tell me to kiss a Turian and I'll say which one".
I presumed that the Turian (like Asari) facial markings were hereditarily -- but they could be the equivalent of our tatoos.

PS I loved Nhilus even though he was only in the intro, he had cool tattoos and kick ass armor. A shame they killed him, he had such a great voice actor and so much potential. I liked how they gave tribute to Nhilus in ME2, through Samara, explaining her past. Nhilus 1st impression was way cooler than Garrus. If Nhilus had more screen time, he would have been cooler than Garrus, in my opinion.

Lol all I know is if that Nihlus survived, I'd have desperately wished BW make him a romanceable squadmate. But then, that's bad, cause then I'd be forced to choose btw Nihlus and Garrus and no thanks, I like living in peace. Good thing he died

Since the Unification War, turians normally wear elaborate tattoos[3] marking their colony of origin, though it is not known which markings distinguish which colony or if color has any meaning. These markings are usually white — particularly on turians with darker carapaces — but can be of other colors such as blue for Garrus Vakarian or red for Nyreen Kandros. The lack of facial markings is looked down upon in turian society; the turian term "barefaced" refers to one who is beguiling or not to be trusted. It is also a slang term for politicians.

When modding ME1, there are 2 files of the same "nihlus". One has black eyes, the other has green I think.
One of them is dead.
Nah, but seriously, it is definitely a re-used asset. I would have liked nihlus over Garrus tbh, I never liked Garrus...
