If I  knew I  would not have preordered the game for ps3.  Since Bioware started making games you could count on them making a quality product and they did, just not for the consoles.  I  can live with all the presentation and visual issues with the game.  But how can you release the game for the console and not have the top down camera view.  It is the essence of RPG  gaming to be able to pause and micromanage all my characters.  I went over to my buddies place and was playing on his PC  and the experience is totally different.  Not to say that it is a bad game but it feels like Bioware turned it into a action game on the consoles.  You can not see all the action around you and forget about being a wizard.  I  am VERY DISSAPOINTED with Bioware on this issue.  On top of that, I paid Ten dollars more for the PS3 version.  I  have played just about every game that Bioware produced since Baldurs Gate 1 and have been a loyal fan.   Who else feels jipped?  I paid more money for a lesser game.  I know the economy is bad and making games is a business but releasing the game just to cash in on the holiday sales is not fair to your customers.  Especially if your not telling your customers about it before you release the game.  When I  read about it in a review the day it comes out is a little late.

I am talking to you Bioware.  If you want to make it right, I  hope there will be a update that will fix this issue, but dont think it will be coming as it is a big issue to fix.  I cant say that I am never going to play another  game from Bioware anymore but dont expect another preorder from me.

For the love of god, everything you are complaining about has been known for a LONG time if you bothered reading the forums. We were told well in advance about no top-down camera for the consoles, and there have been several gameplay videos showing how the console controls work.

I have it for 360 and haven't encountered the lack of tactics....it is a little bit more smash and grab then what people are saying about the PC version but I have still found micromanaging a must although you can do much more in real time...I find, especially when fighting big groups of enemies, that pulling up the wheel and ordering commands and changing peoples tactics so they don't just spam all of their abilities first think in the battle to help alot

Correction, it is the essence of CRPG's to be able to micromanage all of your characters (unless you're playing a terrible random encounter turn based jrpg).

You should have known better before you bought an RPG for the console if you wanted something with tactical depth (see: console RTS).

My friend, I for one am soooooooo GLAD that they got it right for the PC. If they tried to accomodate consoles for the same type of game all we would have is a bull**** consolized experience. The PC market is saturated with bad console ports.

Tbh I'm glad that it's eventually console gamers that are getting the ****ty end of the stick.

I'm not speaking for ALL console gamers but as a demographic they like their games simple, uncomplicated and action oriented. Not to mention the fact that the PC has native mouse support and a possible 100 mappable buttons VS your console's 6-8 button gamepad.

It is sad that console gamers pay a lot more per game. £15 more in some cases. That fact alone almost completely neutralises the "PC's are more expensive" arguement. £200-300 for a console brand new, if you buy 1 game per month with a +£15 limit, thats £180 so we're already up around the £500 mark. Ok, still cheaper than a good PC but for that figure + less than half of it, you get so much more a PC.

Ok, so I'm off track, but the point is, I'm sorry your game experience turned out bad, but I'm so glad Bioware stayed true to their home fans, the PC guys.

Ive said this before everyone has their opinons. as someone said above the lack of the tactical camera zoom in console versions has been known for awhile. Personally i enjoy beeing right in the middle of combat and not having a view of the whole area is more like im there.

Bioware has been reluctant to admit these changes at first, but they have been known for a good while now. And some reviews pointed them out.

Fortunately they didn't do the usual. That is make an action game for the consoles and then poorly port it to the PC. This a PC game and some aspects of that wouldn't work on consoles. I'm glad Bioware didn't forget the audience that gave them their reputation. That would have been all too easy given today's gaming market.

See my post above for more, but in short, I'm overjoyed that this is a TRUE PC game and not a port. The average PC gamer has had to put up with a lot of crap from the console boys with bad ports. Bout time the shoe be on the other foot.

dude, that's all so criminally ignorant i don't even know where to begin. First off, without Consoles there wouldn't be Dragon Age in the first place, period. To ridicule console players for paying more money and beeing straight out too dumb to play "real games" is so ****ed up, it lets me assume you're 12 years old. The PC Market is dead because 90% of the PC-Playerbase just plays pirated copys, so better be ****ing THANKFUL, that there are console versions, and better pray that this sells good despite the console versions beeing flawed, because if this doesn't sell on consloles you won't see a sequel.

Difficulty is adjusted too to compensate for the control limitations. Consoles have no FF on normal. PC has 50% there. The general AI has been tweaked too it seems.

You can't issue simultaneous movement commands while paused, but need to move each character separately.

Utter nonsense. This game has been in development for the last 7 years. It was meant to be a PC exclusive at first. They have only been working on the console ports for maybe 2 years at most. And they only anncounced the console versions in the last year of development (more like 8-9 months really).

The PC Market is dead because 90% of the PC-Playerbase just plays pirated copys

And yet the 360 version was available for download before the PC version.

Personally I'm on the PC version and I only use the top down camera if I'm having trouble clicking on an enemy that's behind a wall or something.

Also, lol@console fanboy.

I am going to buy this for the 360. I did do research and I know the PC version is better. I am not getting the PC version because my PC is outdated and I don't want to risk it.

Lol. We have a winner.
Did I say ALL console gamers are stupid? Did I even use the word stupid in my post? Get a grip man. Console games are generally simpler than the average PC game. Fact. Thats why companies play to MARKET DEMOGRAPHICS and build games based around them.
And if consoles didn't exist, there would just be more and more better PC games, that argument is moot.

Also, I think you need to spend some time in an English class.
Tool.

and why did they feel it to be necessary to develop a console version and postpone the pc-version for a year, hmm? What do you think?

90%? You better have a credible source or else you're the one people will assume is criminally ignorant. Sure, there's piracy that occurs, but I take exception to someone claiming that 9 out of 10 PC gamers are thieves.
