I have a PC, you have a CONSOLE, then i'm better than you......

I hate this disscutions, i mean, it's pathetic to say that console players are something worse than a bug, just only because they like to play games on a console, and think that games on PC are ment to be played only by gods, stop now please!

You're getting all bent out of shape over something that hasn't even be said.

I say if you wanna play a console then play one, you want a PC go PC.

The fact remains that you physically CANNOT do on a console what you CAN do on a PC, Making the PC a more versatile platform. Whether you play a console or a PC says nothing about you as an individual. The demographics however speak for themselves.

On the flip side to what you said, I've never met a console gamer who has stood on your side of the argument that has had ANYTHING good to say about a PC.
The trend seems to be PC owners can't be negative about console's, their players or their games but Console owners can ridicule and chide PC gamers and laugh it up that they happen to be taking a greater market share at the moment.

As to the piracy issue, no doubt it's a factor but so is age. Most youth care more for a console than a PC, easier to work and understand. (If anyone manages to come up with an idea I'm calling young people stupid here I swear you just won the "Moron of the Year" award, read the whole sentence, tool.) Also, as stated before, the demographics influence the type and demand of games that are produced.

you would figure that a difference between versions so significant would validate an announcement from Bioware. I can now understand why it would be kept so hush hush.

What I really want to know is WHEN the decision was made to take away the overhead camera view. After reading the a preview on IGN maybe a little more than two months before the release of the game, I put in my preorder on Amazon. I dont even remember reading a preview where the PS3 version was demoed. I wonder why. I just looked back on a preview on IGN and read that it looks pretty sharp on the consoles. I guess thats what got me

and why did they feel it to be necessary to develop a console version and postpone the pc-version for a year, hmm? What do you think?

To make money.  To claim that if there would be no game if not for consoles is a brash statement, at best.  Consoles are MUCH more popular because they appeal to a more casual gamer-base.  If you had the opportunity to add a huge chunk of sales of your game by simply delaying it while porting, wouldn't you?

Ive been playing the PC version while my wife is playing the Ps3 Version, to be honest both are equally playable with alot of control differences. The only gripe we have with the Ps3 version is that its not intuitive in the controls nor is it really explained well. Infact the instructions for the game came with PC instructions lol.

That being said, we are both enjoying our versions. Not only is the PS3 graphically good and quick to load everything, but its interface is actually faster for controlling party member skills in real time combat as opposed to tactic mode then the PC is.

Both are good, its a great game with a great story and I think its been modded well for the consol once you take the time to get used to its control features (by trial and error unfortunately)

Just my 2 cents

Pete

Thats good to hear.  Probably best thing I've read all day long.

Umm. Am I missing something? The PS3 version is excellent!

If anything, it's the 360 version which got the short end of the stick here.

PC Gaming > all

I realize it can be a bit more costly to maintain a decent gaming rig but the fact of the matter is, the PC has a much more "open data" format to it. You can visually navigate and look at the files that make up any given game. You can't say the same for ps3/xb350 because they frown on people modding anything outside of their sandbox. (for warranty and tech support reasons among other things)

So what this means is custom user generated content. New models/textures, etc.. stuff you can't really do on a console.

Right now the only form of anti-piracy is putting out a great product and supporting it with great DLC and supporting the mod community. The mod community has consistently been shat on by the big console companies for years, whereas the PC market isn't dictated by one company

My friend, I for one am soooooooo GLAD that they got it right for the PC. If they tried to accomodate consoles for the same type of game all we would have is a bull**** consolized experience. The PC market is saturated with bad console ports.
Tbh I'm glad that it's eventually console gamers that are getting the ****ty end of the stick.

I'm not speaking for ALL console gamers but as a demographic they like their games simple, uncomplicated and action oriented. Not to mention the fact that the PC has native mouse support and a possible 100 mappable buttons VS your console's 6-8 button gamepad.

It is sad that console gamers pay a lot more per game. £15 more in some cases. That fact alone almost completely neutralises the "PC's are more expensive" arguement. £200-300 for a console brand new, if you buy 1 game per month with a +£15 limit, thats £180 so we're already up around the £500 mark. Ok, still cheaper than a good PC but for that figure + less than half of it, you get so much more a PC.

Ok, so I'm off track, but the point is, I'm sorry your game experience turned out bad, but I'm so glad Bioware stayed true to their home fans, the PC guys.

dude, that's all so criminally ignorant i don't even know where to begin. First off, without Consoles there wouldn't be Dragon Age in the first place, period. To ridicule console players for paying more money and beeing straight out too dumb to play "real games" is so ****ed up, it lets me assume you're 12 years old. The PC Market is dead because 90% of the PC-Playerbase just plays pirated copys, so better be ****ing THANKFUL, that there are console versions, and better pray that this sells good despite the console versions beeing flawed, because if this doesn't sell on consloles you won't see a sequel.

You are the reason I laugh at consoles. PC gaming isn't dying, in fact that was a stupid rumor that everybody has stuck to since the Playstation 1...that's right Sony started it. Piracy on the PC isn't anywhere near as bad as its made out to be..bad games don't sell. Do I have anything to be thankful to consoles for? Hell no and I'm glad I'm a PC loyalist.

Props to you buddy/girl. (You have a female avatar, I figure you're a guy but from what I read, there's a fair amount of female interest in this game.)
Glad to know I'm not alone against the console fanboy kingpin ^^ Lol

It is a sad tale. Console gaming has degraded PC gaming, but now without a big, expensive game made for all formats it can't finacially make it. I just hope PC gaming will make a come back someday. You can't have PC gaming on a console and now PC gamers are stuck with console gaming on their PC's. I actually look alot like this picture, also sad!

The PS3 version of this game would have been AWESOME if they only would have provided KEYBOARD/MOUSE support... it would have played just like the PC.

It saddens me that they did not... now I will have to upgrade a PC to play
