I'm planning my first play through to be a nothing-matters-but-closing-these-tears approach, so I imagine at least Cassandra will stay with me. Sera may have problems with me, and Varric, as much as I appreciate the former's philosophy, and as much as the latter is my broseph. Ooo, drama...

Mike Laidlaw said that you would have to make a concerted effort to drive off all of your followers (i.e. choosing conflicting dialogue options at every turn just to get a rise out of them).

That being said, I'm sure I will drive off Vivienne. I find her character grating. Too much politicking, and she seems arrogant.

Really? But you (morrigan) and Vivienne would have so much in common xD

You may need that politicking, you're in Orlais after all and she is la Madame de Fer, shes important. She could be useful, so long as everyone remembers she obviously cares about herself more than any cause. Keep your friends close, and you enemies closer.

I like the way that you think, grasshopper. :)

I will kill them all by my hand with only one standing. My femquisitor needs no help. Even the devil leaves her alone. At the moment I'm not sure if this will be my 2nd or 3rd playthrough, but it will happen

As it stands? At least seven, possibly eight. Cole won't stand with me in the beginning, let alone the end; I don't trust him as far as Ser Pounce-a-lot could throw him. Vivienne, I'll give a fair shake to, but things aren't looking good for her.

I imagine Cole will turn on me eventually. He and I will probably disagree who constitutes an helpless person.

Also, Sera because she doesn't look kindly upon "greater good" types.

Hopefully they can all be killed or leave us.

I mean I won't be purposely trying to kill them or make them quit but for my alternate playthroughs I like to spice it up by killing companions or really pushing their buttons to see the effects,

I only have an interest in keeping 4 of the companions(not including advisors). I wont intentionally drive the others away but likely wont stop them from leaving if they don't like me.

It all depends. I am firmly opposed to the Qun and won't allow Iron Bull to pass on information to them. I'll do my best to get him to leave it, though.

I don't like Vivienne, she's too nasty and not enough Circle reforms (it does need to be fixed)

Of course, it precludes playing the game, doesn't it?

With my first character, role play reasons he's gonna try as hard as he can to keep everyone while helping the helpless. Keeping the companions happy while following his beliefs is gonna be his main objective.

Come the second player I have? Boy I can see a few companions getting real huffy at her. Gets things done her way or the highway.

Everyone will stay with you is my bet. So far all the companions are good guys with social/political differences.

I'll play through the game as I see fit. I'll kill those who attempt to attack me even if they ask for mercy after being defeated, I'll spare those who know better. I won't stoop to petty thievery or such acts. If I see someone as a threat, then I'll get rid of them. Whichever companions can deal with my playstyle will be allowed to stay in the party, the others are of no consequence to me.

Three.

Because you're limited to four in a party.

You had your whole party standing by your side at the end of DA2. Along with several other people.

In my case, ideally, no one gets left behind.

Well...I don't really plan on driving away anybody.

Hoping Varric will stick around, at least.

Cole is already dead so obviously he can't "stand by" anything. Float by, perhaps, but not stand by.

I don't understand people's desire to have a "perfect" first playthrough where no one dies or leaves. I like to be surprised and moved by the consequences of my choices and then deal with those consequences (by not re-loading to change any outcomes). But then again I am the type who is averse to any sort of meta-gaming for the first couple playthroughs.

my plan is like my plan in origins and da 2, everyone is alive and with me at the end, and is my friend....  sebastian and anders being the only exceptions in da2, cause you can only have one or the other.  I plan to have everyone alive (if possible, may come to a me virmire decision in game, who knows) and on good terms with my inquisitor...  my policy, its easier when everyone gets along... then you can kill them in their sleep without any sort of suspicion on you

The Qun does not waste Resources. My Qunari Inquisitor will be a firm Follower of the Qun, which doesn't guarantee many friends, but he will not go out of his Way to get his Companions killed. Instead they will stick by his Side, so he can deliver them to the Tammasran for reeducation.

Well didn't they said that our qunari won't be qunari?

PC qunari was apparently rised outside qun so it woulr be rather hard for protagonist be firm follower of the qun if they don't know about what qun is.

I know this, I actually admire this - I hope he can make the iron Bull his Teacher about the Qun.

LoL that would be like learning about dwarven culture from oghren,

Of course if what we have heard about him is truth he pretty much is far from standard qunari and their belief .
