LoL that would be like learning about dwarven culture from oghren,

Of course if what we have heard about him is truth he pretty much is far from standard qunari and their belief .

Which provides a very interesting Dynamic, doesn't it? However, it is stated, that he still "believes" in the Qun and an Ex-Ben-Hassrath can't be a Teacher too bad.

Well if done for laugh it would be good but if you think about qun seriously guy would be horrible teacher to be honest i find a little contradiction with his faith in qun and his life style...

My first game play, in previous titles I haven't lost one less it was written into the story. Otherwise my second or third, whichever I do this with, I slaughter or drop as many as I can just to see how the end would be with hardly any alive, basically max loss. Then that next play I fix my emotions of slaughtering people I liked by redoing a play through that allows ones I hated killing to be alive again.  :)

Iron Bull seems cool, but I'm firmly opposed to the Qun and will make that clear. Will that be a dealbreaker?

Like everyone in this thread, I have no idea.

It all depends. I am firmly opposed to the Qun and won't allow Iron Bull to pass on information to them. I'll do my best to get him to leave it, though.

I don't like Vivienne, she's too nasty and not enough Circle reforms (it does need to be fixed)

Of course, it precludes playing the game, doesn't it?

The Qun does not waste Resources. My Qunari Inquisitor will be a firm Follower of the Qun, which doesn't guarantee many friends, but he will not go out of his Way to get his Companions killed. Instead they will stick by his Side, so he can deliver them to the Tammasran for reeducation.

Well didn't they said that our qunari won't be qunari?

PC qunari was apparently rised outside qun so it woulr be rather hard for protagonist be firm follower of the qun if they don't know about what qun is.

Funteresting fact: people really love using the word "firm" or variations thereof near the word "Qun." Now u know.

Unless it's someone who is mutually exclusive, I'm shooting for having everyone.

Well i used that in response to another user who wanted play as firm () qunari to point that he may not be able play as one.

they've said you have to be pretty schizophrenic for everyone to leave your party (save for one NPC). that might indicate confict of interest between chars (Solas/Viv maybe?)

i'm guessing you'll have to be schizophrenic if you want to keep them all as well.

i like changing my mind frequently (icecream? no, gummy-bears! no, wait! chocolate! same goes with mage/templars; gaspard/celene, - they are all right, it depends on my mood really), so i suppose i'll end the 1st PT with all of them or only one.

I'll keep them all. Every character has a part in making the inquisition stronger.

I have no idea, because nobody has any idea what these companions are like.  The mages might all hate each other and force us to leave one of them behind, we don't know yet.

On my first run through I'd like to keep as many people alive as possible.

My Necromancer on the other hand I plan on creating as much chaos as possible.  He will also never bend in his choices, if the companions don't like it they're free to leave or die at his hands.  Will likely have him not bother with romance since I don't think any of the companions will fit with him..

I generally do my best to keep all my companions happy, regardless of whether I like them. It's a personal code of conduct I guess. The only exception I can think of in any Bioware game where I failed to do so is Isabela from DA:2. She and I never saw eye to eye. I tried to make her happy - through multiple games -, but it was never enough and I didn't feel motivated to do it over again so that she was.

I have kept all my characters alive or with the group in DA Origins, and the only character that ended up leaving the group in my DA 2 playthrough was Fenris.

With both games there where characters, I really enjoyed, that annoyed me, or where part of the group and I never used them. With nine different companions, two or three members for each class (Warrior, Rogue, and Mage) and 40 possible endings, I think I can afford to keep the companions I want and ditch the others. My first playthrough for both games wasen't "exactly" how I wanted it to end but, I love how it came out. I plan to make my first playthrough of DA I interesting enough for me to enjoy the outcome. This time, I don't see myself having a full party at the end.

However, I think i'd have to consider the ideals and goals for each character and how, it would suit the ending of the story Im trying to build. If, I keep a character around because, it prevents a riot, secures an area, or gains more allies to the cause are questions I would consider for each party member. This time around I don't see myself tolerating an apathetic mage, an elf taking his hatred out on an entire class, or blood magic users unless, it serves my purposes. It's cool to keep everyone but, I don't see myself doing this time around.

Hopefully all of them. The more you surround yourself with strong individuals the more powerful you become. Strength in numbers and all that. Also so far there is no one i dont like. And even if i will happen to dislike someone i will still try to keep all of then.

Considering how I plan to play my game, I think I will likely lose Cassandra and Cullen. Leliana is hardened in my game, so hopefuly I can convince her to stay with that. I might lose Vivienne as well. It really depends what her secret agendas are all about, we'll see. Everyone else, I will likely keep them.

By the end maybe a quarter of the party will be left standing, and my Inquisitor won't be one of them. The truly strong sacrifice for the weak, but he/she won't go out with a whimper.

Based on what limited info I have, Cassandra, Blackwall, Dorian and the Rogues will stick by me. I'll be playing the hero.

If that will alienate Iron Bull, Solas, and Vivienne, then I won't have those three.

Of course, if there's a point in the game where two companions will become mutually exclusive, that alienate another :/

I don't understand people's desire to have a "perfect" first playthrough where no one dies or leaves. I like to be surprised and moved by the consequences of my choices and then deal with those consequences (by not re-loading to change any outcomes). But then again I am the type who is averse to any sort of meta-gaming for the first couple playthroughs.

While I enjoy when things go off the rails for me (which made my first playthrough of DA2 just about perfect, really, basically everything I could accidentally do wrong, I did do wrong) and I never reload in my first playthrough for the reasons you describe, I do try to keep all my companions around, because they're basically my favorite part, and I want them all around to talk to. I don't always succeed (again, my DA2 first playthrough <3), but I don't think it's weird to want to keep everyone around.

Hard to say, not sure how the game functions in that regard. I've never gone out of my way to kill, or rid myself of a companion before. I'll most likely want to keep them all for the sake of what they have to offer to the story.
