I usually have trouble with DA companions without metagaming/metaknowledge.

So I expect DAI to end in tears , with a bunch of companions I have to kill , others who will just left , and there's also those who will do stupid things or ask for a leap of faith at the last minute.

It's a shame because even when I dislike some of them , I don't hate them or want things to end badly.

With Inquisition , I'm not hoping for things to end up nicely because the Inquisition is supposed to be so powerful ...the last Inquisition changed Thedas deeply. So I imagine some companions are going to be very aware of this power , and everybody will want things to go a certain way.

There's no pleasing everyone , so I'm expecting ...well maybe not betrayal .But conflict of interest turning into bloody fights.

Well I'm making it a rule to play the game as an assolo(******* + solo). Whenever I get the chance, I will kill/kick out the companions, and hopefully use my power to fully open up the tear. Then Thedas will be like hell with everyone being "every man for himself" which is how I like it.

I never go out of my way to alienate my support. There are some who I get along better with than others, but I do try to at least keep everyone by my side. The only way I can see someone leaving is if it's a situation where someone will leave no matter which choice I make, or an extreme moral dilemma where I just can't make myself choose the route someone wants me to.

I'll have to wait and see.  I usually play polite to neutral.  DAO I did kill Zev a few times because he tried to kill my Warden, so I'll wait and see what they are like and go from there.

I hope they let you keep them around if you showed enough interest into having them in your party. The way they had it in DA:2 was pretty good to assure that.

But with 9 companions in total there might be one or two fatalities. I remember I was certainly missing a mage when I finished DA:O and was fine with how it turned out.

I hope to keep as many as possible. As long as most of the companions are agreeable or at least cooperative when it comes to the critically important matters, then we're going to be fine. I just honestly can't see myself finding the appeal in an inquisition that I would've spent copious amounts of hours and effort into only for one companion to survive.

I highly doubt that killing off companions takes effort anywhere close to as building bonds with them. Pissing them off and getting them to leave or kicking them out yourself was ridiculously easy in Origins. As long as they aren't tethered to you artificially like in DA 2, it'll be a piece of cake.

As for the appeal. Well, I find it very appealing to be a total jerk to these guys compared to always sucking up to them.

I would assume you get to keep them all if you've got them to 100% and there aren't any mutually exclusive ones.
