With all respect, OP, I don´t think this has anything to do with csmg. The weapon is just fine. Though Rio can be b...ch and Collectors are very hard pushing.

I suck at clutching waves too.

Never said it sucks in this whole topic I started. Just said it has to be bad against Collectors if you have a pretty low dps setup & kit, you powers & team go bye-bye, stage is Rio or worse,. and you can't shoot them Pretorians from a distance because of the bubble since you need powers you get a lot of bullets from this weapon.

 

In all honesty this was a very serious and very honest opinion I ran into. Posts I personally enjoy myself to read on BSN. But I somehow knew folks would still find a way to make it into a joke, why I was almost going to entirely avoid reading the replies in this topic until... for some reason this morning I felt extra bored?

 

 

But yes. I finally got this weapon at level 10, and refused to try it anymore since level 5 (though that was only like a week break from it), and I have to say this weapon is a lot better and too bad it was the last one to max out. As I'm a big fan of all charge weapons. Namely Lancer and CSMG. The fact that I prefer the Lancer over this one does not mean I still don't love the heck out of it, cause these two have to be my fave weapons now. Especially at level 10 and even with no consumables or gear on. Because charge weapon. So if any of you can actually give me some proper advice with my second fave weapon against Collectors (my fave faction), that would be great. Otherwise I will just ignore like I normally enjoy doing.

 

 

 

Anyways, I noticed some normal replies on page 2, so maybe I'll read some more? If not, I got better things to do like playing ME3mp on X-Box with a decent controller that also fits my hand perfectly. Feel free to join me,  cause todays specialty is CSMG a la FQE & level 1 consumables.

CSMG is one of the best weapons in the game IMO.

EDIT - and in case you didn't read  my previous post due to length, the CSMG is my second gave weapon after Lancer. Though now that both are at 10, maybe a turnover could even happen? Who knows? But that's not how it is now.

Whether or not your powers are nullified just shoot the csmg in short bursts rather than full auto. The recharge is so quick it'll take a while to run out this way. It should also have a chance to recharge when you change positions, and you'll need to be doing that a lot against collectors.

Other than that, it's standard clutch procedure- wear down the wave budget by killing mooks and ignore the praetorians until the waves almost done. By the time you're having to fight the praetorians there shouldn't be many captains left, so fewer swarms to interrupt your powers. Scions are the biggest threat on rio, but stay off the walkways and you shouldn't be an easy target.

Talking about armor here genius.  The nice 2x headshot bonus on a Praetorian is not something you are guaranteed, especially in a team game since most CSMG setups don't have the penetration for it when the bubble is up.

Remind me isn't there a glitch with ammo usage on it?

Not everyone is dumb enough to proc the crab bubble. The wasted time you're referring to is usually one cast cooldown.. not exactly a long period of time.

 

This is pretty simple.  You don't get to use the standard fire->hitscan power shenanigans that is the typical CSMG style against a Praetorian because the bubble will go up.  If you aren't using powers against it then you get to wait for recharge without power use.  When you do that the CSMG dps tanks.

 

The Praetorian is the worst enemy in the game to have to use a CSMG against because the HP pools are so large and you don't get to supplement damage from the CSMG with powers except with a few special case powers.  It has absolutely nothing to do with how well you can press a button for Incinerate.

CSMG is inconsistent and as such the total value of damage I posted per your 72 shot capacity is a bit inflated.  It uses double ammo for a random 10-11 shots (on average) depending on if you have the extended mag or not.  With ROF bonuses it uses double ammo for more shots.  In the test w/ 50% ROF from TSol, corlist got 37 hits out of 54 shots.
