Haven't played the older games, so I had to pick Malak.
Edit: How come Sun Li (Jade Empire) has 42 votes, but only 18 have played that game? My arithmetics may be off, but I'd still say something does not add up.
The game poll was added later.

Even folks who didn't play the game know Sun Li is the best, or poll options are getting added all the time and people don't bother to delete their votes and vote again.
Goddamn ninjas.

Adding options during the poll - every election needs this.
Irenicus has a wicked voice.
I'd have to give it to Bastila though. Cuckolding Revan with Malak, now that was cold.

Sovereign a.k.a. Nazara the best antagonist. He transformed Saren into some sort of hopping Marauder Shield.
*Shrug* I didn't think of it.Adding options during the poll - every election needs this.
My answer ? This game deserve more praise imo.

Except for TIM, this list is good and you should feel good.

I do feel good, especially when watching men wrestle to JoJo's credits.
How could you forget Arl Howe from DAO in this? That guy was the worst!

Yeah... but he wasn't exactly that compelling as a villain. He was the cackling evil 2 dimensional power-hungry bastard Bioware failed to make clear Loghain was not through most of the game.

Ah, but the poll was "who was the best"
After DAI releases, I think I'll make a new version, this time with all the questions and options available from the start.I had to go with Master Li by a hair over Saren just because of the circumstances and how I never saw it.
As far as a games played, you should have an "I played them all" option.

I liked Sovereign a lot.
That Malak/Bastila picture continues to disturb me greatly, lol.
I adore Saren/Sovereign personally.
Saren Arterius invests in Binary Helix and creates a cure for the Genophage, enlisting Krogan into his service.
Sovereign meanwhile indoctrinates Benezia and her fellows, and creates the Geth Heretics.
Saren attacks Eden Prime, plans on blowing it up and even shot a fellow Spectre without flinching.
He double-crossed the Shadow Broker by utilizing one of his agents against him, and hoped to destroy any and all damning evidence connecting him to Eden Prime.
Peak 15 was a lab he intended to use to revitalize the Rachni into servants to supplement his growing army, and he also engineered a biotoxin Thoros-B to help his task.
He sacrificed one of his Asari followers just to obtain the Cipher needed to utilize the visions he received from the Prothean Beacons on Virmire and Eden Prime, and then ordered his Geth to destroy the Thorian so Shepard couldn't obtain the Cipher somehow.
And while he does work with Sovereign his own labs on Virmire conducted crucial tests on Indoctrination so he would know whether his partnership was voluntary or not.
And when he's finally truly indoctrinated, synthesized with a cyborg body, he has the utmost willpower to be able to shoot himself in the head to try and stop Sovereign when Saren realizes the truth. Then his corpse is desecrated for one final attack.
But could you imagine the resources Saren could have offered if he wasn't indoctrinated?
Cure for the Genophage, Biotoxin Weapon, Re-enginered Rachni Soldiers, and possibly the aid of an Asari Matriarch? Possibly recruiting Liara with her knowledge of the Protheans before them?
He had so much power and pull that he could've easily have preemptively assaulted the Reapers first or made them a known galactic threat. Instead Sovereign put all those resources to war, and made someone who could have been their worst nightmare into their best field agent.
The only question is why Saren could do all those things and Shepard could not.
Shepard had the Alliance funding, at least. How did Saren get the dough for all those things he researched?

A sizable investment portfolio?
Bare in mind, I've never played a pre-KOTOR Bioware game so those options may be off (Assuming my poll doesn't vanish on me like last time).
Now, for me, a great antagonist is a personal one. Distant threats aren't nearly as interesting as those connected to the protagonist personally, and they should interact with the protagonist from an early point to cement that. They should be intelligent, ruthless, yet not entirely unsentimental and very self aware. (You can probably guess my feelings about some of Bioware's recent efforts)
For that reason, I give my vote to Sun Li, the Glorious Strategist.
What do you think?
*snip*
^ I agree with this completely and for the same reasons. When I played JE, I was completely destroyed emotionally when my adopted dad/mentor betrayed me and I discovered I was never more than a tool to him, to be used. I was so upset! It was glorious.
I have yet to be as affected by any other antagonist in a video game.

For me, it was his last words that clinched that feeling.
How could you ignore Sonic Imperator Ix?
