Replacer for Liara's Default Uniform - mod release

This mod will replace Liara's default white outfit with a custom Ajax armor for the field and a science uniform for off-duty.  It's a complete replacement, save for the low-poly models in the Citadel DLC.

There are two colors for her science uniform, black and her original Mass Effect green.

It requires me3explorer 108k or higher and a full (including dlc) Texmod scan to install correctly.  Installation instructions are included in the zip file

I also recommend Getorex's full face helmet mods to go with this.  Get them in his thread here or on the Nexus.  Install his first, then install mine :)

The science uniform textures were made by Ottemis and are included with her permission.  Get them here at the Nexus or here at her forum thread.  She also created the new spec files for all three uniforms and put together the texture .mod files. :)

 

The Ajax textures were made by smarteck, edited by me and Ottemis, and are included with his permission.  Get the originals here at the Nexus or here at his forum thread.

Might be something i am doing wrong here but...

I can get the ajax armor with correct textures/science outfit with ajax textures

or

science outfit with correct textures/ajax armor with science textures.

 

Tried reinstalling mod twice and followed instructions. Both meshes are fine but textures are not holding on specified pcc's (or that is my guess)
I have a fully scanned texmod and have only previously installed Otte's textures for Liara

This is not a deal-breaker for me if you could provide the ajax .upk file as i am happy to just have the ajax on its own.

I was actually going to do something like this, in fact I just did it in my own game but I wasn't sure how to package it for release and stuff but I also have her ME1 body mesh so it's possible to use the actual scientist suit she wore, if you'd like the file.

@Shot_Down: I'm sorry! :(  I just checked them both and they're working on my end.  Try installing the textures individually, science first, and clear the job list in between.  Maybe they're just overwriting each other.  If that doesn't work, try installing the science textures, then copy the BioH_Liara_00_NC.pcc to your desktop, install the Ajax textures, put the copied pcc file back, and run the TOCBin updater.  If that still doesn't work, let me know so I can find out what's wrong :)  And PM me if you still want the upk.

 

@Mira: :D  I've heard a few people say they've either tried this or wanted it done!  That's partly why I decided to do it.  And thanks for the offer!  Please, send me the file!  I'd love to see how it looks.  Does it give back her asymmetrical sleeves? :)

Yes, it does restore that! Unfortunately though I lack the original textures from ME1/2, I use CDAMJC's mod and I really don't want to go through the process of re-installing to grab them and stuff.

@Shot_Down, Shanlii: I created .mods for the textures that exclude/include specific PCC's and ID's depending on which you are installing so it's impossible, using those rather than a TPF, to have either the Ajax or the Science textures apply across the board and the installation order should not matter either. Those scripts are static.

Otte this may be due to the fact my game is now heavily moddified. Do you have a suggestion on how i can get around this (please do not go out of your way on this as it is not that important to me to have this working 100%).

The .mods instal perfectly with no errors shown at all, just the textures side that is 'out' for me.

 

Ok i got it to work :)

All i had to do was check the 'Select PCC's' under the run command and it installed without an issue. Without that checked it did not work.
Not sure if this is something specific to me, or something that needs to be done for the mod to install correctly for everyone? Either way you have one happy camper here. Thanks everyone involved for a great mod!!!

Exactly as Shanlii suggested: Seeing the science should only apply to the BioH_Liara_00_NC.pcc easiest is to apply the science uniform first (if it really does apply across the board) then back up BioH_Liara_00_NC, then run Ajax textures and place the BioH_Liara_00_NC backup back and run Auto TOC.
Though this not functioning does make me wonder if the fix is that straight-forward to be honest, it's an interesting problem.

Though if you are looking to apply the Ajax across the board entirely anyways, replacing the mesh in BioH_Liara_00_NC once you have the UPK should do the trick in that regard.

Edit: It SHOULDN'T matter, that is freaking weird. See a mod script lists static location and ID's in PCC's. If a PCC is not in the script, it can't apply to it. What doesn't exist doesn't exist. Singular. I'm going to have a look at the files.
Edit2: The scripts look fine =/ I don't have that checked and I've tested it fine as well. Toolset hurr?

I took a harder look at the mod files and there is no reason i can see for it not to work (as you say the mods only write to specific files). Looking at how the data was writing as i ran the mods the two ways (with and without the 'select pcc's' checked), without it checked modmaker seemed to ignore which files to write to and wrote to all. WIth it checked i got the pop-up verification on which pcc;s to write to and it worked perfectly.

But you just checked the box yes, you didn't actually select any PCC's manually? The script in the science mods only includes the BioH_Liara_00_NC PCC. Just for ref, are you running the latest SVN? I think your toolset is drunk lol. Will have to keep an eye out for similar reports.

Yup. No additional extras from my end. Just forced the mod to check the pcc's it was writing to. I'm on the latest revision 653.

I went and got my toolset a large black coffee and it sobered-up enough to install the mod LOL

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. :D  And sorry, but I don't intend to do any recolors of the Ajax.  Recolors intended for Shepard and Kaidan will also work for Liara, but you'd need to manually replace the texture.  Just extract the diff from the recolor's tpf with TPFtools, make sure it is DXT1 format with mips, and use it to replace the LIAa.diff file in Texplorer.  You can replace the norm too if you want, but don't touch the spec or spwr files :)  When you save the new texture, be sure to click on Select Pccs in the menu first, then deselect the files that have NC in the name so it won't overwrite her science uniform.  If it does overwrite them anyway, just run the science uniform mod again and it should fix them.

I redid the ajax with Aria and some commando and also I added the casual outfit in place of the science uniform. I get some clipping but I have two more textures to use as my opening outfit. This mod is great, you can do so much with it.
